Australian Open
No - he just ain't got it. Reckon that runner-up is the best he's destined to be - he always falls apart on the big occasion. Hope I'm wrong though!

Australian Open
Murray currently getting humped in the final - 2 sets down but could the 4th game in the 3rd set be a turning point? He didn't seem interested in the 2nd set but putting up a bit more of a fight now.

Y'mean like David Seaman?

Andy Gray, Richard Keys
Everybody seems to have missed the point, which is that they weren't expressing opinions, but merely sharing a joke. Don't tell me that nobody else has heard that old thing about women not knowing the offside rule! OK, it's not very funny, and it's rather sexist, but to pretend, for the sake of making a good story, that these two really believed that the assistant referee may not have known the offside rule is really a bit silly. Although this sort of negative thinking seems to be the norm for those who choose to take offence on behalf of others - a strange modern phenomenon!

Crowds.
Oh yes it is! It's just not convenient. Anyway, that's beside the point - I was only mentioning that as a possible answer to the initial question. In my case it certainly amounted to 2 less people going. Had I booked earlier, I could have got in to the family section. However I didn't know until the last minute whether I'd be able to go. And yes, I agree about season tickets - a lot of money to be potentially saved there, but then there's the danger of straying off-topic. btw, are we related?

Crowds.
I normally bring 1 to 3 kids with me to matches which is no a bad price in the family section - however that option wasn't available to us on Saturday and all 3 wanted to come at a staggering cost of ?81. Result: me and one child went. Perhaps a bigger family section would have driven up the attendance.

If ICT were an English club
Putting aside the absurdity of the thread title, it can only be Newcastle United who, like us, were relegated from the top flight last year and came straight back up this year. Come to think of it, that's probably the first time an English club and Scottish club have both bounced straight bacvk up in the same year. Surely this calls for some sort of twinning arrangement!

Caledonian FC V Aberdeen
Went to that game too - I think Aberdeen won 3-0. Kevin MacDonald attended that game and there was a rumour that he would turn out for Caley, which he didn't. But towards the end of the game, Johnson Bellend came on as sub and a huge cheer went up from people who thought he was KM, being of similar ugliness. Whatever happened to old Bellend?

Aberdeen performance
I used to support Aberdeen when they were the nearest "big team" - Caley were just a Highland League in those days - still my main team though. Back then Aberdeen were a really decent team. Sadly, now they are sh!te and in severe danger of becoming the second best team in the north. Don't be fooled by their current flash in the pan - as the clearly worried topic-starter is well aware, they will soon revert to their norm (i.e. SH!TE)

a question of sport
Pig-ignorant arsh-holes, eh? But to put it into perspective, how many of us would know which teams were promoted from the Welsh Second tier to the first this season? Am I right in thinking that this isn't the first time that Mr. Bannerman has referred to the whacking of IHE's considerable arsh on these forums? Worrying!

On a similar theme.....
Wouldn't do our attendance figures any harm either as we'd be guaranteed a big gate for County games. Wonder if we'll get unusually large attendances for games v. St. Johnstone due to proximity. The downside is that the neutral support would then be divided, i.e the people who don't mind whether they're watching County or Caley but would probably be inclined to watch SPL football rather than Div.1. We seem to get better attendances when we're in a different division to County (so far we've always been in a higher division when that's happened - so we'd really suffer if they went up and we went down) So, I suppose, no - I'd rather they stayed down there where they belong - Div 1 or 2 - no higher. Telt!

HA HA @ C*unty
Aye well, they ended the season with precisely NOTHING. Bummer, eh!? B)

Engerland or Ross C**nty
OK - it's that time of year again, so here's the question - two awful prospects are looming: Ross County winning the Scottish Cup and England winning the World Cup. Both pretty awful I grant you, and we'd never hear the end of it if either happened, but which in your opinion is the WORSE scenario. Personally I'd go for the England option - I could just about live with County winning the Cup but only because we've won the league!
-
Large Margin?
Don't think there's any doubt about that - they are the second best team in the Highlands regardless of where they finish in the league. At least until Clach overtake them!

TRANSPORT PROBLEMS FOR COUNTY - ANY PICTURES?
500 of them arrived at Greenock yesterday after an epic voyage through the Pentland Firth - part of the "Voyage to Hampden" package run by County Cruises on their luxurious flagship.

How soon can we win the league
As from (I think) last Saturday, we are now mathematically safe from relegation! Or was it Tuesday??

For once I'm feeling positive about our next home game. 4-2 I reckon!

Boycott the Gypo Game
Well, I'm working this weekend, so I guess I'll join your boycott - unless I can get someone to cover for me. And don't call them gypos - Ross county supporters may find that offensive! :D

What areas need strengthening?
You are indeed right - it was against Livingston in (I think) the First Division. They were the team to beat back then and we did just that, admittedly hanging on at the end with just ten men and Tokely in goal.
-
who do you hate the most
I read about a couple of Italian teams - canna mind their names - local rivals anyway and when they played each other the supporters of one of them always wore face-masks, implying that they needed protection from the smell of the opposition support. That sort of thing could wind up our local rivals. :D

Changes
I like the idea of 2 divisions - division one with 20 teams and the other 22 in div 2. Play each other twice - plenty of variety and none of this over-familiarity and stagnation you get when playing the same few teams 4 times a season. Might indirectly benefit the Scotland team too - the last time we were any good we had that sort of league set-up, though not quite so many teams
