  1. The new stadium looks like a cross between meccano and lego, maybe it should have been called legano, or mecclego or something similar, although The Methadome is my personal favourite.

By the way, what an irritable little jobsworth of a steward, the little upstart in the orange, what a forkin pleb. Get a life ya wee squirt, and stick yer clipboard where it hurts. Killjoy springs to mind.

Aye, he was a wee dik. The police had to tell him to settle down!!! Still, he let us have a photo with him at the end......

  2. He came down to train with the youth players a couple of times and he was WELL sound. Shearer was an arrogant prik but Sheerin was up for a chat and dished out plenty of advice. My boss also told me that when he was a mascot for a juniors in Glasgow, Sheerin was there and was speaking to everyone.. All round nice guy.

  3. I believe that Butcher and ICT have shat all the bad form, that Brewster left us, out against Falkirk and Hamilton. We will see a motivated and physical team against Midden. Only thing is, we have a lot of nervous players. If people can keep their footballing brains on (Grant, Ross and the Lion), then we'll be cool. :rotflmao:

  4. When 'The Tulloch Caledonian Longman stadium' was terraced, 'Victory' park was the better of the two but, now, after 5 years of SPL criteria matching grounds, you can't be expected to visit that!

Also, Miss ICT, you'll have to change your user name. You'll not be taken seriously from now on.

  5. As for how well they would do I tink people over rate the engligh leagues and under rate the Scottish leagues. Reading, wovles etc would never do well in the champions league and make the latter stages or reach a uefa cup final. Rangers and Celtic would both do well in england I think.

As for what it would do to our game i think it would kill it and make our league comparable to the irish league. Im sure the irish league is competative but i wouldnt know as it is a nothing league with a terrible co-efficient and teams out at first round of uefa every year etc. I dont want our league to be of the same standard as that. Also other teams such as Hearts and Aberdeen could also follow suit and could hold their own in the priemership. maybe not with the current squads they have but with increased television revenue they could. Bigger populations than teams such as blackburn middlesbrough and bolton and the crowds of these teams are poor sometimes.

This is also more of a threat than team GB at the olympics and would lead to a realistic chance of a uk team and doing away with Scotland which I would never want to even think about. For that reason I hope this never ever happens.

Di maggio, you've brought me back down to earth. Thats a sober and realistic view of things. Eirecom league, no thanks!

If you took the big three out of Holland and Portugal, what would happen there? League of Wales material? Should probably leave the biggest famous clubs where they are........

  6. The Getafe player should've been sent off for the shocking dive that led to all that.

Thats nonsense roscoe , Pepe clearly pushed him .

So he pushed him.....then kicked out at him twice after pepe made him go down :rotflmao:

Thats correct , my your observant !

Sarcasm, the tool of the ******...........

    I agree. Blatant penalty.

  8. Guess you never went to the Hamilton game then. :rotflmao:

Are there any rules regarding abuse of the English language on the forum?

yeh, defo min, i fink it iz abooot txt speek u geat meh? Booyakasha :thumb04:

    No text speak please.

This is a subject that's been debated many times and the easy answer to why away is better is that at away games everyone can choose to sit together so a rapport is inevitable. At home those same people are spread around two stands.

    He was joking. lol

  9. CD....

Were you not tempted to scream over the tannoy - Morais you useless fecker when he lobbed the ball over the Hamilton keeper - and the bar.

    :018:

Not as tempted as I was to make an announcement that I had forgotten to include the Ref in the Hamilton Team line-up .....or to tell Hamilton to get the finger out when making the double substitution ;)

You could hear the annoucement of Barrowman sub over the radio... you sounded delighted :rotflmao: :thumb04:

Have you considered playing Caledonia at some point before the start of every match?? It should be inherited as an ICT anthem for years to come IMO. It's not exactly my genre of music but it fits perfectly and works brilliantly when played at Scotland matches.

Im responding to the Caledonia bit here (cant work put how to quote), I wanted to say that before but thought I would look gay. I think that would be our fields of Athen Rhy (spelling?).

  10. but the way ajsict92 puts it is that the fans would get a boost before the game but i do understand where your coming from ok.

What i'm saying Mahonio is that if the players know there is going to be a big crowd then it should be an extra incentive to put in a great performance, (not that i'm doubting they would put in a performance anyway). It could help them bow out of the season on a great high, which should be survival. Sorry should have been more specific

"What i'm saying Mahonio is that if the players know there is going to be a big crowd then it should be an extra incentive to put in a great performance"

    Rangers 5-0 ICT Att: 49,255

Last season: Celtic 5-0 ICT Att: 56,020

Don't be a dik for the sake of it.

  11. Best away day i've been to this season has to be at ibrox where we won 1-0

GREAT CROWD SINGING ALL THE TIME :rotflmao:

I thought were were pretty noisy but on the T.V, you couldn't hear, or see us??

Well its kind of hard when about 150 fans are trying to sing over 48,000 other fans. We were in that wee corner right across from the camras. Dont think the ball went to that corner alot just the odd coner kick

I thought the guy with the kilt on was louder than the entire Broomloan stand!

There was 2 guys there wearing kilts IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER and Govan Jaggie

    The bald one.........

  13. Hang on a second....

Setanta - Maybe this is a daft thought but are they actually big enough to compete with the likes of Sky to win TV coverage of the English Premier League? I doubt it. If they can't get TV rights to the EPL then what football are they going to show? SPL anyone? Sure, it will be less money but can we really not survive without the same amount?

There is a lively debate on this in the comments under Chic Young's blog:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chickyoung/2009...ould_be_ru.html

Plenty of English fans displaying their lack of knowledge about the actual size of the Ugly Sisters and the Scottish game in general.

Chic's blog is all doom and gloom but I agree with Scotty in that it could be an excellent thing for Scottish Football. We could have a 16 team league minus the Old Squirm. With the first division table as it stands today, that would mean the inclusion of St Johnstone, Partick, Morton, Dundee, Livingston and Dunfermline. Partick might start pulling in more of the less fanatical Old Firm fans who can't afford to make the away trips for EPL matches.

There would be a return of the Renfrewshire and Dundee derbies to league competition, and even the Highland derby if County get their act together. All these teams would have something to play for and the interest in Scottish football would be kept alive by people who actually matter... us.

I personally don't give a tiny rat's @ss what the rest of the world thinks about our league. All I care about is that it is competitive and has the values of the fans instilled within it.

    Spot on!!

  15. No disrespect, and then say something disrespectful. :rotflmao:

A Brit league would be right up my street. We share the army, police force, royal family, language, T.V, a distrust of Muslims (Wow, you can't say that!!!) and Tesco. Why not football? UEFA will have the obvious questions from regions of Spain and Belgium as to why they can't have their own national teams if the home nations can but, why not make Galcian, or Flanders play qualification games, to qualify for the qualification groups for the big tournaments? They'll never get through but, if they did, it would be no worse than San Marino getting to play in these competitions.

Scots, just as much as the English and the Welsh, want to be independant but, I am only Scottish by history, not by current practicalities.

Caley would have much to gain from a British league. I reckon we would float between league 1 and the championship after spending our early years in League 2. Once we breed the Old Firm out of the Highlands (with them two regularly going to Old Trafford and getting beat, the glory hunters will have to go some where else!) the Ict support will start to average around 15'000. This is when, with Wayne Rooney in his first management job, we do a Bolton, and regularly confuse people with our Premiership satus....

It will never happen though. SPL 2 is about the most foward thinking Scottish football will be involved in.......
