Why be so negative? How can ICT ever overcome this stigma attached to them that they are a tiny remote club with nothing to offer to decent players when even our own fans believe it to be true? There is nothing that deems this idea ludicrous or funny in the slightest, and even if you think it is you should keep it to yourself; what is the point in slating the team you support on a fan forum?
What's so funny about a rumour that a Scottish club are looking at Graham Alexander? That the Scottish club might be us. HTH.

Agree with "Bombabim"'s post to an extent regarding Alexander's likelihood to stay central belt.
Alexander probably does see himself as above our level which is a problem that ICT have always had to face since their formation regarding the signing of players but having said that, the club is expanding and gaining reputation and history as it ages and hopefully these ideas of us being a small, less-established team will begin to fade.
With names now like Butcher and Malpas and a squad which has stormed the SFL on the first time of asking I think we are an exciting and unique club (complimented also by both our geographical location and our age in comparison to other SPL teams).
If SPL-quality players could overcome their fear of moving north of Glasgow then we would be in with a great shout of signing them up!
I would love to see Graham Alexander brought here and I feel that there is no reason why it shouldn't happen; I have a feeling Terry will reel in some decent, established players this closed season as our performance this year speaks volumes for the character of the club, management and fans and surely provide several pull-factors for anyone who wants to play for a team that is a true Scottish footballing side.
-
He could easily play in the SPL as a squad player at least; I for one would love to see him back in an ICT shirt! Surely he'd prefer that to another season in the first division.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hart go to County, especially if they lose some of the players who have grabbed attention this season, eg Gardyne. -
Personally I wouldn't be sad to see the back of LDZ. Haven't seen much action from him this season. I remember shouting at the tv regarding his performance in the last game of the season when we went down. He's not as commited at putting the ball into touch and cost us quite a few corners in the past
Really? It wasn't that bad.
Oh yes it was. LDZ has only ever had one good game at left back for us and that was his game at Ibrox.
I'm sorry but I didn't think he was that bad in the last game of last season; no worse than anyone else! I have always felt that LDZ has been over-criticised and have received plenty flack for doing so! He needs a decent run of games and experimentation in a variety of positions to determine where he is best suited!

I would be happy with the same starting 11 for the SPL
In the last 12 games we have only conceded 5 goals, thats 5 goals conceded in 18 hours of football, 9 clean sheets and 31 goals scored.
All of our team are leaving the SFL better players than when they entered it, Staying in the SPL is priority but this current ICT squad have amassed more points in the 1st div that their title winning predecessors and I would say against tougher opposition this time round. In the first SPL year we were very close to a top six finish, so theres no harm in making the top 6 plan A, next season.
Excellent post and my sentiments exactly!
I see no reason why we cant push on for a top six finish with the quality of play we have shown towards the business end of this season. Why aim so low?
BELIEVE.

Pretty much perfect except for the exclusion of Esson as Scotty has said! 18 clean sheets!! The man is a beast and deserving of a place in anyone's dream team!!

Cheers that was really good!

I wouldn't mind Bullock as a substitute keeper, he's always been decent and he does love the Caley fans!
Of course, this isn't the first time Bullock has found himself on a list. :025: -
I'm a big fan of "Hamish the Hairy Highlander" CaleyD! Very unique and specific to a Highland team! Don't think many would want a topless muscular man patrolling the sidelines and hugging their kids though! :022:

Ayr 0 - 7 ICT
ICT 4 - 3 Raith
ICT 3 - 0 C*unty
ICT 2 - 0 Dunfermline
ICT 1 - 0 Dundee (This would have been further up the list had the game matched the post-match celebrations!)

Aye, but it was a deciding game. We've been champions for over a week now! Since there is only one BBC page for Scottish League this is understandable!
Well done for raising the issue. The BBC sport website wasnt much better either yesterday with the main SFL page being covered by Stirling Albion winning the cup, how many were at this title deciding game? 1102 !

Hayes
Ross
Rooney

LOL. It was a tribute act.
Was that really Rod Stewart or just someone that looked like him? -
Amazing day out and great effort by the players and Tel etc. to come round and see all the fans! The game itself wasn't great but we could've won by a couple more goals had Eric and Nick been on target!
-
Well done Golly on an amazing return and another excellent season with ICT! B)
-
I'm sorry but Jedward in Caley shirts singing "We Are The Champions" would be a fecking great laugh! Haha!
Cannot wait. It's going to be a great day regardless!

Terry's delivering his himself along with a First Division medal.
I hope there is one on its way to Wilsononourwing. -
Aye Pavels was great but I don't think he was as good as Dods! He was a complete machine!! Don't think we've been the same defensively since Dods went! I have always thought Mehmet was a decent player and with Rooney would create quite a physical presence up front which I feel we could maybe lack going into next season!
I've suddenly become delighted at Latviaman's words. Get Pavels back, he is by far the best defender that has played for us.I would also love to see us get Moutinho and or Mehmtt should one of their teams go down anyway, but I'd suspect others would be after them.

Would rights have to be paid if it was footage taken by our own match photographer who provides the highlights on the official site? Surely this, coupled with interviews with players/Terry &Mo regarding the matches would make quite a full DVD.
Knowing what we had to pay for the rights to put 1 game on to a DVD, it's unlikely to be financially viable to produce a highlights DVD for the whole season....unfortunately. -
Ditto! It'd be a tough task but definitely worth it as I reckon plenty copies would get shifted!
-
Aye it would be good. I fancy our chances anyway though as their squad is falling apart with injuries and there will probably be about 4 dejected Dundee fans there.
-
Wouldn't it just be amazing if this scout does come to watch and Rooney and Hayes play bit parts in a 5-0 thrashing with Lionel scoring 5 overhead kicks!
I think signing them up for a championship side is daft considering they are unproved even in the SPL. Any team with a brain would keep an eye on them until Christmas and chart their progress before comitting to buy...
I just hope Stratford doesn't play. I think he's been the key to the season. It's no surprise that he's refused the offers of these new contracts. I guess he must be foremost in the minds of Championship clubs. Certainly, if I were Doncaster, I'd be concentrating on this midfield dynamo, or our rampaging tiger of a left-back, Lionel Djebi-Zadi. Surely, DZ would be looking far above the Championship though. -
Aye apparently he is certainly out. Doesn't need a big spread as it's not a very big game in terms of what the outcome will affect so his fitness for the game isn't that important!
I'm sure he'll be well and truly involved in the post-match celebrations!
Graham Alexander

I didn't say that was what you said but I said that was the stigma which is attached to the club in terms of drawing players in. The point of your argument that I disagree with is the fact that "we wouldn't have a hope of getting Graham Alexander". My post earlier in this thread was regarding everything that the club has to offer and how we have grown in stature and history over the 16 years we have been in business. As for budget, Alexander has surely amassed quite an income through playing for Burnley and may well just want to end his footballing carer playing in Scotland while taking the drop of wages in his stride. We have seen this in established Scottish players moving to the likes of Falkirk, in Stephen Pressley's case; a player who once player for Celtic, eventually moving to a smaller club with a lower SPL status and obviously taking reduced wages.
I don't really want to argue over what is a VERY speculative rumour; all I'm saying is that as a club and a support, we need to start believing that this type of transfer is feasible - otherwise nobody else will and we will remain an understated club with little pulling-power.
