  1. would be wanyama i think (12.5 million), followed by fletcher(12 million). who scored 4 goals in his time with hibs against us all of them at easter road in 12 attempts and he never won at tcs in 6 attempts, and only won 3 times out of 6 at easter road. proving once again money dont beat ict. (this all according to tranfermarkt.co.uk)

after those 2 there would be a few of those pocket change £9 million players like gordon, hutton, mcgeady (9.5).

  2. The first International break of the new season has been designated the official 'Non League Day' by the FSF for the past three season. NLD was set up so that supporters of PL teams in England and Scotland could go and support their local non league side.

I'm going to be visiting family in Leyland this weekend so will be making my way to Gigg Lane Bury to watch FC United of Manchester, rather looking forward to it.

Anyone else thinking about taking in a non league fixture this weekend?

(You could always go and watch Luke Mackay play for Inverness Citeh) haha

have a day out in aberdeen this week when we play hermes. itll be great

  3. im not wanting to get carried away. last season started horrifically, and look how that ended up. in the same way as we went on a run of form last season, this season we could do the opposite.

in saying that, i dont think our team is of the sort to let the head drop, we always pick ourselves up.

so what you suggest for me is plausible but not guarenteed. lets not look down on our oppenents like they once wouldve to us. the bigger you are the harder you fall and all that.

poor wee jonny being called a tink too. feck it. call him what you want till i get the tenner he owes me from last season!

  4. Before Saturday, the last Caley game I was at was the 3-1 win to win Division 1 back in 2004. Now I finally managed to end that drought with the game on Saturday and that was by far the most fun I've had at match before. Didn't expect a support like that. Bravo. Think I'll be making it to a few more this season.

welcome aboard. you'll never leave now.

  5. Agree with you lukemackay regarding Auchinleck and Linlithgow but the North Junior League is of an inferior standard. Culter are well below the quality of the top junior sides outside of the North. They would struggle in the top East and West Junior superleagues!

The reason, in my opinion, is that Aberdeen has an abundance of teams and therefore the playing standard is diluted. It's not that the players aren't good enough, just that they're too evenly spread. A bit like how Inverness amateur teams (before they went Welfare) didn't do very well in the Highland Amateur Cup - it would ordinarily be 'expected' for the City team to produce a contender but it rarely materialised.

The likes of Wick, with 3 or so teams had stronger line-ups due to the Inverness talent being spread over around 30+ teams.

i reckon culter are stronger than most highland league sides. if they still have that jamie mccalister theyll walk their way to the league this year. they arnt close to being as good as auchinleck or linlithgow but are still a very strong side and i dont think many 3rd/2nd divison sides would like to come up against them.

  6. Coldstream v Wick, nae luck!

Yeah, Wick reckon they'll lose around £5,000 playing the tie! They'll have to stay overnight on the Friday, maybe in Edinburgh, (or maybe not if the Festival's still on!)

Nairn have a real tough one away to Linlithgow Rose, but Brora will be pleased with a home game and a very winnable one vs. Vale of Leithen.

Lossie v Culter is interesting as it pits the North's top Junior club against a struggling Highland League side.

Was looking for Cove but then remembered they've got a bye! (Along with Formartine, Dalbeattie and Whitehill Welfare*)

*Mantis's favourite team!Nairn and Brora will walk over their opponentsI'll take that bet. Linlithgow will beat Nairn fairly comfortably i would reckon.Linlithgow are a poor side did you watch the SJC final?

Yeah i was at the game, up until that game Linlithgow were unbeaten ALL season. They won their league comfortably and were only beaten 1-0 in the cup by the greatest junior club there is. They had an off day, it happens. Junior sides usually make it to the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup, until they reach teams from the 2nd and 1st divisions when things are just a little too much for them.

I will be putting my money on Linlithgow for the Nairn game anyway, They as well as Auchinleck should be able to handle most of the HL teams i reckon. You overestimate the strength of all the junior teamsThe likes of Linlithgow l, auchenleck, and culter would give any team a run for there money up to about 1st/2nd division standard. Auchinleck gave a strong hearts a run for their money not so long ago.

  7. It'd be good if every club in the Scottish Cup went in at in the First Round IMO.

That! I would like to see. Celtic travelling to wick on a cold wednesday night after the first game being postponed due to snow in September and going out to a player who no doubt played for ict u19s/reserves in the past. The uproar would be immense. I think Celtic would implode from the centre circle of parkheed outwards. Toxic Radiation would be felt in Rome.
  8. Id be buzzing if i got the day off school to play for the u20s

U20 players tend to be either part time in school or have totally left. From my experience of being in school with a couple of them over the last couple years. Missing a morning or an afternoon makes no difference. I'd prefer if the game was in the afternoon myself as i have training on a Tuesday evening but ict is clearly conspiring against me this season!

  9. G shinnie > Wallace

I'd have black back. But not ahead of draper these days.

Tempelton could waltz into the team do a few cryff turns and shag every bird in Inverness. He's the sort i player butcher would get the best out of.

Maybe macloed in the a.shinnie role but we are yet to see how good vincent is there and I'm not sure wether he'd be better.

So 1 player id love to have, and 2 i wouldn't mind having.
