  1. Hopefully this pay what you want will actually work and even if it did lose a little ( which I don't think it will) I would be worried if the club couldn't cover any small potential loss.

I have said for a long time that they need to try dropping the prices a bit and hope the crowds come to at least make the same with more fans or even better with more takings.

    Interested to see the outcome....

  2. Is a 4-3-3 with three striker something that could be looked at, to have right go at Accies, essentially trying to overpower them?

    Something like this -

    Brill

    Raven Warren Meekings Tremarco

    Draper Tansey Shinnie

    Sekajja Mckay Watkins

Subs - Esson, Devine, Ross, Doran, Vincent, Christie, Williams

Like this idea but swap shinnie for Tremarco and put doran left centre. What an attacking force that would be. Set out our intent to play attack at home.

  3. 3 points is 3 points. Weakened team or not.

Points mean prizes in the end not what team is out on the day.

Cracking game and long may the play continue.

Agreed that the last third needs a wee bit more in terms of shots/goals but happy to get 3 points playing like that.

  4. I have always been the sort that says you need to give a manager time and not be rash and hope for success quickly. However we were in a successful place and playing decent football until Hughes came in ( or butcher left). Out of scottish cup embarrassingly so, final lost, 2nd to 5th in league and prob heading for 6th.

We are a simple club and as much as I think we have some great players for our size, we are not a fancy direct through the middle passing team like he wants.

We need to be 4-4-2 with 2 wide men willing to run and cross, take players on and 2 solid midfielders, one holding and one advancing with 2 up top, one advanced and the other the link to midfield who can drop back when defending.

This is poss the most frustrated I have ever been supporting the club.

I hope it stops soon and it wouldn't bother me at the moment if come the end of the season we are looking for a new manager. 6 games to see what happens..... I think we already know.

'They are a great bunch of honest lads' well if they are it might not be long until the honesty shines through and Mr Foran speaks up for the team to say they are not happy with tactics etc.

only plus is the longer contracts meaning no one can go for free in summer.

  5. There was absolutely no width in last nights game, and that is expected with a 4-2-3-1 style to an extent and especially when playing a ridiculous no of central players and some out a bit wider. Hughes tried 4-4-2 and it failed but I really think we need to work with a 4-4-1-1 style with a sensible midfield of 2 central midfielders one holding one attacking. 2 wide players willing to push on and run along the wing all game. An advanced attacking midfielder to play in the hole to support billy (or Evans as the season draws to a close) and link play between midfield and further forward something like this -:

    Esson

    Raven. Warren. Meekings. Shinnie

    Doran. Draper. Foran. Williams

    Vincent

    McKay

The choices are just an example of who may start but foran needs a rest. Last night he was position ally poor and his touch was woeful. Williams played pre season against raith as a sub and played left Wing and I was v impressed and hope to see him there again soon.

Need to regroup and try to get the stability back - no stupid errors, no needless passing to them instead of our own player with an easier pass and we need to create chances and have more than one tired option up front to score!!

    And breath......

  6. That was utter pish from us. Looked liked a pub team at times. Foran looked so slow and should have come off at half time. Calamity play for their goals and Richie lost it with brill big style which might have contributed to his awful kicks. One of which that led to their second. We look like we should be in the bottom half of the table the way we played. Shocking. Vincent was poor.

Need to seriously have a long look at who is starting, I now think Europe is out and we don't really deserve it. Maybe let's let the young lads get some game time.

    Polworths goal was awesome.

Bit of a random summary but it's fecking freezing and I am raging at how we played!!!!

  7. 4-4-2 doesn't seem to work and 4-2-3-1 seems to be defensively ok on the whole leaves us weak up top. For that reason, I'd go for 4-3-3 formation, with 3 up top, but also keeping the 3 in midfield to try and keep hold of that area. Raven and Shinnie bombing up and down providing the width.

    Brill

    Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie

    Tansey Draper Christie

    Doran Foran Mckay

Subs - Esson, Devine, Tremarco, Ross, Watkins, Vincent, Williams

I like the idea of this formation. Poss move foran back to the middle and push Christie up to play In the hole behind the front guys.

Gotta try something to get the goals again.

  8. Feck me there seems to be so many on here that think they would have got the tactics right and team choice right. Hind sight is great guys.

I'm happy that we had a go, stopped them from scoring for 120mins and on another day they might have missed 2 pens. Considering their budget and fan base are both 3-4 times ours. We should be proud of our team and move on to the league.

    • Agree 4
  9. Have heard great things about Adam Evans but he hasn't had a sniff so far. Could be good to try him or Christie as back up for billy, subbing him with a good 30mins left and get them some game time!

    Brill

    Raven. Devine meekings Tremarco

    Foran. Shinnie

    Doran. Vincent. Ross

    McKay

Subs-: Esson, pepper, warren, Williams, pol worth, Christie, Evans
