  1. Reasons why:

When you are playing with 1 forward it makes sense to have at least one winger that can cut onto their favoured foot and join the attack. For example... Man U play with Rooney up top and either Park or Nani cutting in from the left. Barca play with one up top and have Messi cutting in from the right. Milan have Ronaldinho, Bayern have Robben (did anyone see his goal last week  ) & Ribery, Arsenal have Arshavin all of them play on the opposite of what you would call their favoured side. I have used Champions league teams because they are the most recognisable but the majority of teams use the same tactic now-a-days... I play right wing with my amateur team and I'm naturally left footed!!

It's very difficult for a full back to defend against a player that can cut inside, when defending they can pull into midfield and strengthen the centre of the park, they offer more of a goal threat cutting in and more to the point with Rooney playing in the centre on his own against 2 centre halves he is unlikely to win a header if the winger was making runs to the bye line and crossing the ball

    CORRECT

  2. Well there is only so much you can do with Brewster calling the shots. :D

Some might say he worked miracles in that case.

Ridiculous comment  B) ;)

  3. I just dont see the point in these "Where did it all go wrong " posts they've been done to death theres nothing anyone can do to change it so move on .

We need to concentrate on the here & now !

By identifying where it's all gone wrong - we are identifying who is to blame. IMO the manager is not to blame. Blame lies squarely at the board.

Unfortunately as the blame lies with the board - there is absolutely nothing that any fan will be able to do. All we can do is wait for Savage to make his move and shake things up. Here's hoping he knows someone that would make a good director of football...

You don't really want Savage back again do you? He might try to use his influence and pick the team !!!!

  4. Can't be bothered reading through all the stuff tonight.........I blame Scotty, but we were pathetic in the first half and almost bearable in the second.

All credit to Ross County who, to be honest, looked like scoring every time they went forward, and but for an incredible Lionel block would have dedservedly gone in at half time two goals ahead. Unfortunately that was to be the last positive input from Lionel as he ended up being the subject of the boo boys after a serious of schoolboy errors. The disappointing thing though, is he was not alone as Bully, Proctor, Coxy, Sanchez, Stratford, in all honesty anyone in an ICT shirt played *****. I am struggling to find a way forward after the most humiliating afternoon of my life...................thaks Terry, you have to shoulder the blame, while Mr Brewster must be laughing all the way to the bank.

No hard feelings from me to the gudgies, they were superior in every department today, so well done to them, Terry and his superstars can hang their heads in shame.

Sanchez, Stratford, Foran, Lionel, Proctor, Eagle, Bulvitis, Coxy, hang yer heads in shame, only Hayes Grantie and Esson deserve any credit for this shambles, although some may have blighted their copybook by gesturing to the unhappy bunnies in the Stand.

To the bank I doubt it, but he will be laughing !

Not at the victory but certainly at the lack of BELIEF

  5. Donald Park has resigned as Hibernian assistant to become deputy director of football development with the Scottish FA.

and yet deemed not good enough by brewster ?

He never said he wasn't good enough, thats not the reason for his departure. Reason is they simply did not get on, other factors too but that is the main reason.

  6. Says more about the quality of the first division if they allow him to score a goal.

Any team that concedes a goal from must hang there head in shame.

    eh :rotflmao:

  7. Yeah, Just ask Barrenman

That might have worked if Ross County were still playing in the Second Division and you spelled his name right... :rotflmao:

Ross, I think you've missed the intended pun :thumb04:

  8. Well we have no strikers that are striking!

I think we should have a friendly game against Elgin or Inverness Ladies and get our forwards to score a barrowload - feel what hitting the back of the net is like and gain a little bit of confidence.

Had we an ounce of confidence up front on Saturday we would at least have had a replay.

    .

what makes you think they can score against elgin or inverness ladies??? lol

How a bout a "friendly" against County?

At least lionel could get a game and I'm sure the boys would relish facing Brewster. Of course they wouldn't try to hurt his shoulder, honest!

    5th Stand

its almost time for my prediction to come through, i hope you'll give me the credit when its due. IT was in the STARS

  9. I think that it has been said on another thread Gillian - but Blackie would only even consider staying if he knew that Butcher was as well - that could be the crucial factor. As Yngwie says that is a "biggie" all round. Blacks decision may lead us to the other. Of course it was down to Brewster and the muppets - some of us saw what was happening way down the line - there cant be any now who can see how poorly Blackie was treated.

YOU should know there is always TWO sides to every story, but then if you had KNOWN what was happening then it would not have only been SEEN by YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. It's intersting to note that the Brewster lovers Ralph Milne and Wyness Leg end have have been rather absent recently. Long may that continue.

Don't worry Renegade I'm watching it all very closely with interest

  11. Guys, if you know you geography you'll know that Perth falls within the highland bounbary as can be seen HERE I know the chosen map isn't clear but Perth is right on the highland boundary and Dunkeld is west and north and well within the boundary.

This argument is all very petty but sorry Alex , your map clearly shows where the tidal part of the TAY ends and I'm sure we both know its in Perth city centre. Your map clearly shows its in the Lowlands, as you said - The Gateway to

  12. Is that 'ralph milne' really Brewster on this thread ? :rotflmao: surely admin or mod can confirm whether its him or not and set the record straight to stop any confusion. (sorry if there has been a confirmation elsewhere i have'nt noticed it)

I can confirm I am not he !! Are you Dennis?

  13. It's always amazed me why the obvious is not sung, instead of Caley clap, clap, clap why not In-ver-ness, In-ver-ness, In-ver-ness, IN VER NESS

Or is it too much to DROP the other two words?

Ab-er-deen do it to serious noise level and whilst I think it's very basic it DOES work and it is LOUD and reaches a much better finale!!

  14. I wonder if ralphmilne could enlighten us whether Brew thought the sacking was inevitable or right?

Who does he think is largely responsible for being at the bottom: himself, the players or financial constraints?

Don't speak for the man himself as I'm not able too, however financial restraints amongst other things plus the unrealistic expectations of the ICT 20 played a major role :rotflmao:

  15. I am really really disappointed in our ex manager. I gave him full support and believed that his injured shoulder was the main cause for him not pulling on a shirt and aiding our team when we needed a striker and, we so needed a striker - he must have, or should have, seen that a mile away.

Now, days later, out of a job, his shoulder is ok enough to get on his shirt and play for Ross County. What a poor show.

He had my support. Not now.

Maybe just maybe! he wanted to give his signings a chance to prove they could do better than a 41 year old, but deep down HE also knew they couldn't cut the mustard. WHAT THE FECK DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD HAVE DONE TO THEIR MORALE THEN IF HE HAD PULLED THE BOOTS ON AND THEN STATED PUBLICLY THEY WERE CR*P

Give the man a break, FFS

Give him a break. You have got to be joking m8. He showed a total contempt for our support and any of the players who dared doubt his management. Are you trying to tell me he could not have made himself available even as a substitute in our clubs greatest time of need . Wise up, they are welcome to the arrogant b.

Listen son, contempt for the support-ok maybe he never ass licked to the crowd like some managers but contempt, no.

The players, I'll give you two examples

1- Wilson, a lot of s*** has been spoken about him and Brew, the bottom line is Barry Wilson has stated on record he was greatful for what CB did to prolong his career.

2- Black, nobody and I've said it before rates Black higher than CB, just remember Black was a headless chicken and a liability for a couple of years he'll admit it himself in a few years time i'm sure but Black at the start of this year was playing with a maturity that was new and it's not coincidence that it was down to the talkings he'd had from the management.

Bottom line- 3 very passionate footballers=conflict at times but the first two points are fact!

2nd Bottom line, I am not and am very unlikely to be your MATE

  16. As I mentioned in the other thread, I hope Ralph Milne Craig Brewster gets what's coming to him from Wilson, Hart and Watt.

Just when you thought he couldn't be any more of a c**t if he tried, he pulls this trick out the bag... :rotflmao:

Actually I think you've made it quite clear over the last few months that YOU are a C***, I've never traded in insults until I see stupid muppet comments like that, grow up and get over it you're supposed to be happy now that he's left

  17. I'm sure if Brew believed that putting on his boots would have helped the team and saved his job, he would have done it.

Ralph, is Brew angry/bitter about his sacking, or does he understand why the sequence of results meant they had no choice?

I'll reply to your post Yngwie but not to the pathetic one after you!

Angry-no, Bitter-never, Understand-of course, unlike what many people would believe he is not stupid by any manner and certainly not petty again unlike what plenty of smart a***s on here might think.
