  1. Noticed the lack of ralph milne and Wyness Legend over the last couple of days...

    RiG

Personally been away but have been watching with interest. To be honest most of the stuff thats getting spouted on here is not even worth replying too either because its innacurate or total bollocks!!.

Yes people are upset because Barry Wilson is getting released, its a shame but heh life goes on,decisions have to be made and nobody stays forever and someone (i.e. the manager) gets the flak.

The big picture needs to be look at here, if you step back and look at what is happening, this is a major re-building that will take time.

Knee jerk reactions will not help and the board will not have any!

I noticed its been quiet too, the Immortal Hairy One or whatever it is has been absent also. Maybe he's seen the bigger picture also !

    Ralphie

  2. Thing is we have a 6'2" defender in Duff, but he aint Brewsters mate...

Wonder who will play next week in a crucial home game vs Arabs?

He doesn't pick the defence on the basis of mates. I think you'll find that none of todays back four are MATES of the manager.

Think theres a good chance that todays back four will get another start next week, they did pretty well after all !

  3. Ralph ok make youself clear you dont think barry deserves an new 5 month contract

Different question I was responding to the statement that he MUST become a coach at ICT.

Do I think he deserves a new contract for 5 months? Probably

Do I think he'll get one? Unlikely

I think the wages will be released to attempt to bring in a similar/younger version or maybe go towards other areas in the team, Only MY opinion now, not those that have primed me to say so

  4. Barry's days as a player are done in the SPL IMO. But he must stay as a coach.

Don't you think if he MUST become a Coach he would have become one by now?

Ralph even if you are been primed by those at the top they should have told you he is only 36 years old

Whats his age got to do with it?

If you cant see what age has to do with been a coach enough said, maybe you havent been primed enough to understand that

Don't make ridiculous assumptions on being primed you pap, you're way off the mark. If he was good enough or thought of as a future coach he might have been considered by now thats all I'm saying.

After all Alec Cleland is coaching the under 19's is he not !!

  6. I know DANNY well and he said

both he and Robbo wer passed 4 years ago and he said Charlie finished his off too

there is no pass/fail in this award it s more of an attendance course no practical or technical exam

but it is a requirement to coach/manage a top flight team after 2010 it allows you to coach in any league in the world as it has UEFA backing

Sorry Bingo but I've checked all the Uefa and Fa websites and don't see Danny Mc, JR or CC

Are you sure about your facts? There is a list of all who qualified in 2004 and D Mc and JR aint in it

  7. The passion will always be there in abundance regardless of what others might think, the crowd will never be 40,000. If it was ICT would be a guaranteed 3rd and fighting with the filth for better :rotflmao:

And yes the crowd would make such a difference !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I know not all is rosy in the garden but it's not all down to Brewster.

He has got the future of the club at heart mate :rotflmao:

Thank the lord, the first time someone has mentioned that he has the club at heart except me Pele, your spot on he has. Won't be easy to convince others though

Ralph I am not sure so many other were concerned he has the club at his heart as after all he had Dundee United at his heart and history will tell what happened there, I do think brew is a decent guy but this is a entertainment business, and talking about heart, nobody had the club more to his heart that CC but that means nothing obviously, get the team playing attractive football with a bit of passion, and wherever his heart is the fans will support him end off

Stevico1, United was a different animal mate, won't go into that but its in the past ! It's a forward looking business and if players were available on a different budget to what ICT have, then teams might well go down the A9 with the tail between their legs, but as Drochit Blue says its much easier to do it the other way round as the emphasis is on the home team. The home team never gets the luxury of sitting back from a home support (quite rightly) its just a fact !

It's only partly spot on though. Many home games this season there hasn't even been any pressure to soak up. We've just not performed.

Today I had the pleasure of seeing ICT go to a top six club and totally dominate the first half and a good bit of the second half. Then in the last 20 minutes when Killie hit us with everything ICT gave it all, blood and guts. That's all I'm asking.

Mantis, maybe your right but I'm delighted you've come away feeling what you did today because thats what its all about :thumb04: :018:

  9. What's the problem at home? Tha same as dozens of other clubs have.....trouble breaking down a packed defence that can break rapidly to nick goals. Teams have worked ICT out up here. Sit back, soak up the pressure and if we overcommit they hit us on the break.

The only answer is to come up with players/tactics that can do someat unusual and that costs ???. Until then we should concentrate on becoming hard to beat at home before trying winning at all costs. Of course if the feeder club were to unearth a creative midfielder and a speedy forward it would help :rotflmao: :thumb04:

    You're spot on !

  11. Wow - ya are all getting so close to ma team of three months ago :018:

Can understand putting Proctor in at right back but Rosscoe saved his bacon last week - he is not a left back. So I would go fer Rosscoe - Duff - Munro - McBain - but I am sure that the Ayatollah will go fer no change although I dread that he will hook Hastings for Djebi Zadi.

We simply HAVE to go fer 5 in the middle - ma first choice would be Cowie - Black - Duncan - Vigurs - Imrie - as per Hibs but with the wingers predominantly on their favoured foot. I would look to taking on Wilson on the hour and hooking whoever wasnt performing.

I would even play Proctor in place of Cowie if he was out (wide right) - but if Black and Cowie are fecked I would go -

Wilson -Proctor - Duncan - Vigurs - Imrie - and look at taking Zander on fer Bazza on the hour.

Proctor is a good player - reckon he could be either a better right full back or a right sided midfielder.

Rooney simply has to start - if he runs himself out I would replace with Wood (away from home) but I would also put somebody in a hole behind him - preferably Cowie - or even Imrie.

The basic premise is not to lose an early goal so it has to be the Hibee "back to the wall" tactic again and hit on the break.

If Brew plays Hastings or McBain or Wood from the start we are doomed. Duff, Vigurs and Rooney are the must do's

And as Ralf Milne knows the Ayatollah is watching - and hopefully taking heed

;) :rotflmao: :thumb04: IHE, I much prefer it when you provide such humour unlike the other night when the abuse was being thrown about !

Ayatollah ? mmm wrong type of adjective I'd say and I'll watch your prediction regarding Hastings, McBain & Wood with interest to see if we're doomed.

Killie away (tough fixture) but I'll predict a scoring draw, followed by lots of moaning and drivel over the coming days !!

  12. I was sat behind the home dug out on sat, as i was interested to see at close quarters as i was interested to see how much involvement he actually has in what's going on.

In my opinion there was very little in the way of communication between Brewster and the players. The only 2 notable exceptions were when Barrowman lost the ball, and Brewster flipped his lid, starting shouting and raving and immediatley screamed for Gary Wood to get ready to come on.

Not long after going on Wood lost out for the ball and again Brewster's reaction surprised me. He screamed at wood and the look on the poor young lads face said it all. He was like the poor kid at school who had really let down his dad.

We have a very inexperienced strike force, and brewster should be trying to build their confidence not destroying it. Brewster remember was a class striker. Why has he been unable to pass on any of his skill/ability to his young players.

It would be unforgivable if Wood or Barrowmans careers suffered due to poor management.

I will expand further but only slightly as my one word reply was given because if you actually read and dilute what was claimed in the original post above some of the content with all respect to the author is complete and utter crap, yes maybe you saw and heard what you say but if you actually ask yourself why then maybe just maybe you might think a bit more WHY ?

Trust me on this chaps when it is suitable I will write some long posts and fill in some posters on some myths and rumours but not yet, oh and while I'm on why oh why don't you all just get behind everyone at ICT instead of bitching and moaning about a lot of bull

  13. And one more point Ralph, do you argue with the fact that Robertson was and always will be a better manager than Brewster? Because I think the facts speak for themselves. And the fact that the majority without the rose tinted Brewster love spectacles can see what an a**e up he is doing to our club just now!

    You're entitled to your opinion

  14. Roberston

Only 3 years older than Brewster

    Led us to the SPL

    2 semi finals consecutively

Held our best league position in the SPL

Has a load of contacts in the game

Loved Caley and what we stood for

As said, stood up against the board and wasn't prepared to let them walk all over him (unlike Brewster)

    Brewster

    Tactically inept

1 home win so far this season

No confidence in his players (chopping and changing far to often, my biggest grievance being Duff so quickly replaced by Proctor, at least someone knows the UNDER 21 SCOTLAND SQUAD player has got talent)

    No man management skills

    No respect for the fans

No experience as a manager... unless you call a failed attempt at Dundee experience!

Go on give us an example of when CB has let the board walk all over him ?

As I hope Barrowman will get better, Brewster chased him for an age and it wasn't him wanting to wait but the board pressuring him to get his signature... he even put out deadlines (which Barrowman ignored and shame on him) but remained on the chase afterwards as the board wanted him to

Sorry but that is total poop

  16. Go on, tell us again why you think Brewster is such a great manager, I could do with cheering up.

Where in any post did i say he's a great manager?

Thats not what i was on about, what I was meaning was he is most definately passionate about ICT and for anyone to suggest otherwise well quite frankly they don't know JACK.

ICTodd, JR/CC/BW sorry but i think you've been reading too much Mills & Boon this weekend

  17. Robbo was my personal fave to take over from CC, but in the back of my head I always knew Brew would return. But I cannot possibly rate brew as an SPL Manager. He was OK for us first time round, but I think that had more to do with his abiilities on the park rather than the bench. He did didly squat at Utd and you only have to see was Mr Levein did with the same squad to see that Brew just did not have even close to the same managerial qualities.

Ok - I admit, levein has been in management for a longer spell and would have better experience, but when you see who brew used to play under and the people he has been around in football, I fail to see why he has not put any of this knowledge into his own management style.

JR as manager with CC as assistant. I'd probably have Barry in a coaching role also. All of these 3 would serve the club well as they clearly have ICT's best interests at heart. They underdstand what ICT is and what we're all about. They show this with heart, whereas IMO, Brew just thinks this is only a job, and lacks the passion that we fans want to see when they all emerge from the tunnel.

    Seriously, you are soooooooooooo wrong

  18. Formation and tactics against Hearts were better, but not without fault IMO.

It's a glimpse of possible progress, but it's been a long time in the making and I don't know if we can afford to wait another year for the next improvement.

But - what is really irritating me - is that he is heading towards the team and the tactics that some of the more astute posters have been asking fer for months !!

I can reveal that he reads your posts on a daily basis and thinks long and hard about them, maybe you're getting through, keep it up :thumb04: :rotflmao:

  19. Anyway, TMFTJ is trying to convey that positivity trumps negativity as I see it in a situation where the Manager is unlikely to be sacked in the short term.

He is saying that meantime we should stop looking for reasons to cut him to ribbons at every opportunity ---especially going back to the distant past when he is supposed to have been disloyal because he wanted to move to another club. We all know the circumstances but he did try to ensure that ICT got a decent price for him and that has to be taken into account when the scales are weighed out.And he does have the right to better himself if he wants to even if the going was not perfect.

Also how far back do you want to go to find negativity and hold tenaciously to grudges about the past ?. Can't we live in the present and not the past? If we go back a hundred years what good can it do ? And does it hold any relevance to the present situation--it should not? He should be judged on what he is doing now not the past.

So some of the posters on here bear a grudge against Brewster and cannot appear to bring themselves to see anything good in the man probably for ever as far as can be seen .But he is here and if you want the club to prosper as you say you do why not try to stop the bickering, the name calling the moaning and making some other posters just fed-up with listening to it all , on and on and on----and on.

So in this I support Manfer and want a change of heart and attitude please.

    Extremely well put :thumb04: :rotflmao:

  20. Sorry - but Brew got lucky today - but perhaps deserved it. The team looked like they wanted to win and he renaged on his previous tactics. We went to the days of yore but the players lifted the perfomance - Brew played the system better but still made a few bollicks

    :021: :rotflmao: :thumb04: :018: ;) :015: :D :P

You've just sent me to bed laughing hysterically

  21. Or perhaps you just don't get me?

Unlike some people I give my support on the basis of what a person does for the club and not because they happen to be a mate and throw me the odd free ticket for a game.

Mate ? Free ticket ? what are you on about ?

Just making the point that there's some people on this site who won't see a bad word said about certain people at the club because they are buddies and not because they think that person is actually benefiting ICT. In much the same manner as certain people only have jobs/positions at the club because of who they know and not because of what they know or what they can do.

All of the above is, of course, purely opinion!!!

    Opinion based on what?

Buddies, mate, what are you saying ! You don't know me or are you just listening to your buddies and mates !

    Did I say you?

Some might think you were being a little paranoid though :rotflmao:

Don't back track now ! Paranoid - sorry, not guilty

ok, we are in danger of going off on several personal tangents here .... lets just get back on topic folks.

If anyone wants to keep getting personal, take it to the PM system.

Thought that might get thrown in, but your spot on buddie
