  1. i'm unsure what the profit margin would be, I never asked. However my mate did say that JD were willing to sell errea ICT shirts in their shops with all proceeds going back to us in exchange for a JD advertising hoarding at the stadium. Seems a little short sighted when you think of the amount of people that shop in JD.

Anyway i had a wee feel of the county top and it is by far better quality than what errea offers. I bought our new top 5 weeks ago because i love the design but after two washes it is literally covered in bobbles and it's not the first time that has happened with an errea shirt. I know of people who have not bought the new top because of bad experiences with previous errea shirts also. Maybe the JD profit margin would not be as good as errea but atleast having a better quality of shirt would possibly increase shirt sales? I heard county sold out the first batch of shirts very quickly

  2. (sorry if this is in the wrong area, mods move it if you wish)

Was in JD sports at the retail park the other day and awaiting me at the front door was county home/away shirts and some merchandise. I know the JD manager well, so i asked what the abomination was at the front door? He told me that JD own Diadora and it is part of the deal that the nearest JD sports shop gets too sell their shirts. Fair play i thought.

However he proceeded to tell me......

JD asked ICT first if they wanted to ditch errea (because they knew the hasstle the fans and club had with shirts taking ages to get delivered etc.) and instead use one of their suppliers such as Diadora or Carbrini which are far better than errea. Also we would have our shirts and merchandise in the JD store. Our commercial manager said, no thanks.

After agreeing terms with County, JD sports went back to ICT and said that they didnt want to be seen supporting one local side and not the other so they were prepared to store ICT shirts and merchandise and in exchange asked if JD could get advertising hoardings at TCS. At first our commercial manager said 'no thanks' but then decided that JD can have advertising at TCS if they pay 15K to ICT. JD flatly refused and has since emailed round all Scotiish retailers mocking ICTFC.

JD is one of the fastest growing designer/sports retailers in Britain and has proved very popular since opening a shop in Inverness last July. They provide shirts for many English teams such as Blackpool and now wish to get on the Scottish market with St Mirren and County being their first teams.

Sure our club have done well recently at giving out free tickets to schools and making a 16-25 ticket price. However i can't help but feel our commercial manager has let us down badly here and made a massive own goal!

  3. were they occupying sections A and B in the North Stand on sat? that area looked a lot busier than usual on saturday. well done ICT :clapping: lets see more of this please, especially with Inverness schools and youth clubs! personally i'm delighted that we've also went into Countys 'area' aswell :cheer01: haha

  4. Just been watching Sportscene and I'm sorry to say but the attendance problem seems to be a national thing. Celtic were given the long stand(opposite the main) and the 2 goal ends at StJs but only the long stand was full and there was only a total attendance of 6000. there was once a time when the OF would completely fill out their allocation whether they were on telly or not. Also Motherwell are riding high and are top of the league just now, there must have only been about 200 well fans at Dens yesterday. Very poor!! also Dundee have luckily ended up in the SPL but their end was fairly sparse.

What's the main reason for the slump? Football costs to much now. I think all the SPL clubs are going to need to come together and talk about this soon. However I am delighted that ICT have increased a concession ticket to 25 years, which has been beneficial to me. Maybe ICT can be a pioneer for other clubs....

  5. Ok, calm down dears

We have two weeks to regroup and sort this mess out.

If we find ourselves getting thumped up till county game then I'll push the panic button. If there's any repeat of march 2003 in the derby then ill make sure butcher eats the panic button! But I can't see it happening, butcher will spend these next two weeks gruelling them and they'll be ready for dons, BELIEVE!!!!

Also, say Butcher left tomorrow. Who would have the right Pedigree to take over this squad? (If anyone says john robertson they'll get a virtual slap in the balls)

Terrys here to stay and I Believe he'll get it sorted!!!

We are Caley, Super Caley :D

  6. On the atmosphere question........

Safe-Standing section = singing section = good atmosphere = a good, loud, supportive crowd!

I understand it will cost a lot to make a safe-standing section but surely the positives outweigh the negatives and in the long run it will only benefit the club and support for the club!

  7. I thought it was an angry James Corden myself.

Anyway, with Utd facing UEFA charges over their failure to control the crowd, this can't be good news for fans like us. Utd will be under so much scrutiny this season that the stewards will be forced to be even more rigorous than they always have been. The worst away ground for stewarding looks like it could get worse, if that is possible.

Unlike the fantastic St Mirren stewards who let us stand and enjoy ourselves..........at least until one lad took his shirt off when we discovered the newest SPL rule. Fans are not allowed to bare their torso. Either that or the female steward in question was just jealous that the lad had a better looking chest than she had.

    *Blushing* ;)

  8. I was one who received the complementary ticket but i still didnt attend this weekend. I am a football fanatic and been a life long man utd supporter as i grew up in the north west of England. I moved north in 2001 and watched Caley Thistle even from the long trip that was caithness. I got a season ticket when we got promoted for couple of reasons 1) i Love football and Caley was were me and my dad went before i got a season ticket and 2) it was my most local professional side (County dont count haha). In 2008 i left caithness and moved to stirling for study and really should have ended the season ticket with the cost of travel plus the incentive of away games. I didnt i stayed and kept my season ticket until this season when i have moved back to England making it impossible for me to attend each week but if i was still up north i can guarantee i would have renewed. I never got in touch to tell the club to demote rangers and never promised anything but again if i was north i wouldnt have had a second thought but to renew. Last season was dire but supporting a smaller club you cannot expect it to be great all the time. I fell in love with Inverness Caley Thistle and i still hope to make a few games this season even from England and i understand people about the money side but the football, please, it was mince but if you love the club and want to make sure it survives then i think not renewing because of the standard is a poor excuse and i am english and seen some of the most embarrassing international football performances haha. The whole spl is poor which has made every club poor even the old firm so lets all get behind the club and the unsong heros in the background who are trying to increase the exposure of the club to the inverness public

Great post!! Btw, you said you were from the North/west and also like the united. Have you at any time went to see FC United?

  9. With OTJ out would like to see TB trying a 4-1-4-1 formation of....

    Esson

    Raven, king, warren, Gshinnie

    Draper

    Doran, Ashinnie, foran, ross

    Mackay

It won't happen ofcourse, I expect to see a team abit like what Ajs has put with shane instead of Nick

  10. sorry if there is already a thread on this, but I have just come across the official print store on the main website. what a great idea and I'll certainly be purchasing a couple of pictures.

I especially like the two pics of the stadium pre-2005, seeing The Shed again brings a tear to my eye, had many an enjoyable afternoon in there as a teenager! Was just wondering if there were any more pics of the Shed possibly making an appearance or if anyone had any other close ups of it? cheers

  11. Support the team regardless of the dross on display is not the way forward.

sorry but running away when things get bad is NOT taking the club forward! However you and your family have obviously made your minds up and we can only respect that..................look forward to seeing you again on October the 6th

Back on topic however, what do we do to get people in?

I was reading last night that FC United of Manchester have given season ticket holders a 'free pass' to bring a friend to any game they wish. what a great piece of initiative. We could easily do something like this. We could have a 'free pass' for every concession season ticket holder so that a kid can take a friend for free to one game (bringing in more youth), or even allow a 'free voucher' so that people can get one cup game free with their season ticket. Initiatives like this might have helped season ticket sales in the summer?

I saw somewhere that Partick Thistle got 3,500 for their game against Falkirk on Saturday and I highly doubt so many people came because of the 'entertainment value' because Partick have been gash for a few seasons now. However I do know from reading on their website that in 2010 they started an initiative to allow under 16s in for free accompanied by a paying adult. Two years on, It's clearly paying dividends!!!

  12. Lastly, I'm a part time youth worker in hilton and of the 40-50 kids who come to indoor footy on a friday night only 5 go to ICT games. FIVE!!! That's shocking, we are failing the youth of inverness and we need to encourage them along!

    10% isn't actually a bad uptake...it's above national average.

However, if you want to take them to games then all you need to do is ask.....drop me a PM or an e.mail to admin@ictst.co.uk and we'll see about organising ticket for you to take the kids along to a game (or two, or three).

Thank you for the offer CaleyD. I'll pass this on to my superior and who will certainly be interested in this!

  13. So there's 15ish PS in inverness. 19 home games a season. That means most kids are only going to get 1 game a season? Also let's put them in the unroofed west stand in the pishin rain in november? C'mon folks we and the club can do better than that!

Just had a thought. If the club is only able to offer school children 1 game a season, let's make it more a big deal! Put them in the main stand behind the dugout, near terry and the players. Let them go to hospitality at half time get a free mars and coke or something. They could come a couple of hours before KO and meet the players, get some freebies have a tour sort of thing.

The same 10 or so kids when I was in school were garunteed a ticket for nearly every home game, that's why they kept coming back, they were going regularly!

  15. Someone said some local rangers fans who usually give us support have boycotted us. Sod them, we don't need them.

Also some of the 'neautrals' are now going to see 'that lot' over the bridge. Sod them and their half hearted loyalty. We don't need these groups and need to forget about them.

Our focus and priorities should be the community and youth of Inverness! We should be making sure that the youngsters of inverness are growing up supporting ICT and not the OF or 'that lot'. The club and. CJT need too work very closely on this! £16 for a concession is shocking! It was £3 for me when I was a kid only 10 years ago.

I also remember when I was younger my PS used to give out 3 free tickets per year for each home game. This allowed kids who normally wouldn't go to games come more often. The club did under 12 free ST not so long ago, why not now?

It might mean losing money for a while giving out free tickets or charging £3 for kids BUT it will repay in the FUTURE when they keep coming back and bring THEIR kids!
