Almost all of our signings have come from the same 2 agencies.  It's something that bothers me greatly as to why we're signing so many players on the day so of people who have a vested interest. Its a bit of a shady business to be honest.

That does sound a bit iffy. I just can't remember so many mediocre players coming into the club all at the same time before. OK,  there have been one or two suspect signings over the years, but the quality that we had in the squad at the time meant they could be absorbed into the team without standing out like a sore thumb, but now there is no hiding place.

  2. Having seen most of our new players over the last few games, I just wonder what JR saw in them. Were they scouted, recommended or did they pull out all the stops in a trial match? At the present moment you can really see why they didn't make it at their other clubs. I fear for us this season, but really hope that JR can shape this bunch into some sort of passable team.

  3. I think Draper saying that it was an easy decision for him to make to swop ICT for County  is a bit of slap in the face for the club that resurrected his career. He won a Scottish cup winner's medal, league cup runner's up medal,  played in Europe and was loved by the supporters. It might not have been the smoothest of transfers, with both parties coming out with different accounts of the deal, but he could have thanked the supporters and the former management teams for the great seasons he had with ICT. I liked Draper a lot but was very disappointed in his statement.

As a supporter of ICT I would like to hear from our Directors and Manager what is going on at our club? Do we still have ambitions to win the Championship this season, or should we return to the Highland League?

It was quoted on the ICT website on the 13th of June that there was going to be a meet and greet open day for season ticket holders to meet players managers and directors pre season! Did I miss this or are they too scared to face the supporters now? So much for this new regime of openness.  The silence from the club,  unless they are selling a player or trying to sell hospitality, is deafening.

Sorry folks, but I care little for this 'it's a good deal for him and his family' attitude.  Masks over the fact that the guy was making a pretty good living already.

Totally agree, there is no loyalty in football anymore or very little. I wonder if county go down next season will he be off again?

  6. I think we must now be officially the laughing stock of Scottish football. Going from Scottish cup winner's and Europe to relegation and losing our best players to our rivals! What is this club doing???? We only get tidbits of information from the 'closed shop'. Where's the meet and greet for season ticket holders before the season starts, was it not stated that Tremarco would be presented with his player of the year trophy at the start of the season? And so much for Robbo saying once August came no other players would be sold.

  7. All the rats are deserting the sinking ship. There seems to be no loyalty in football anymore. If it is true that he put in a transfer request, I'm disappointed as I thought some of the players who got us relegated might want to stay and try to get us back up.

Can't quite understand why OFW is still here, certainly footballing wise. He must surely want a new club as he won't remain as Wales No.3 goalkeeper sitting in the stand on a Saturday afternoon. I am sure he will be gone soon which will benefit him and ICT. If/when he does go I wish him well as I think he was playing while injured from New Year onwards and was struggling.

Also, wonder if we could get Josh Meekings back on a reduced wage, even until January so he can get fit and put himself in the shop window. That would benefit Josh and ICT both.  I am concerned about Warren's injury.  Elsdon I do not rate as he is slow and basically crap in my opinion. Is he really a Middlesborough player?, more like Scarborough level!!

By all accounts Meekings is training with Dundee and has been watching them from their stand, and it was reported that he had a Dundee jacket on, but no word of signing yet. I agree that it would have made more sense for him to sign a short term deal with us, if he is fit, to announce to future employers that he is back.

Banging  an old drum here renegade. Our tannoy system has been crap for as long as I can remember. The excuse has always been "No money to spend on it".

It would help a lot if the announcer didn't think he was a radio DJ. Could someone please tell him to mute the music when he reads out the team lines instead of fading it up and down.

It was the same for me and others in the north stand that usually buy them I went round to the main door and asked if there were any for sale and was told they were selling them in the sports bar so I did not bother.  I hate to say it but when you go to Dingwall you have to walk round the tables with the sellers there and they push the sales which is why they can afford a bigger prize as well.  Our club just can't get the basic things right even at the Clach friendly game recently they had them for sale as soon as you entered the ground.

I agree. If you start by taking care of the small things first it's a step in the right direction. At the away friendlies at Forres and Elgin the raffle tickets are on sale as soon as you are through the turnstiles,  just as they used to be at Kingsmills and Telford Street , so why can't they have the programmes and raffle tickets for sale inside after you come through the turnstiles?

  11. For the last two home games I have not been able to find a raffle tickets vendor. After we come into the car park we walk to the stadium and find the programme seller but no raffle tickets,  so we walk to the main entrance and no sign of anyone selling raffle tickets. I wonder how many more supporters have found this? I usually buy £5 worth and my son usually does as well, so this is lost revenue when surely every pound matters to the club. Would it not be more sensible to have the programmes and raffle tickets to sell inside after we enter the ground, beside the catering units, there is plenty of space and a captive audience?

  12. It was reported  in the inverness courier on 28th July that 'Robertson had stated that they needed to shift two players to free wages but yesterday he confirmed this would not now be necessary due to the board's generosity'. So I hope this rings true and we can hold on to Raven and Draper. We need their experience to gel this new squad together.

Yeh I seen that, but it dosent seem realistic somehow. North stand was pretty empty, even with the large DU support I thought more like 2500

I totally agree. I said to my son that I thought it would be about 2,500. We sit in the main stand and the North stand looked a lot sparser than usual. I know that United took a healthy support with them, but I couldn't believe it was the attendance that was reported, it was better than most of our attendances last season in the premier league.

DU were very fortunate to come away with 3 points.  The penalty looked very soft and I thought we hand a stone-waller when Draper went down in the box.  It will be interesting to see be both incidents on tv.

Overall I thought we had a good first half with Calder playing some good stuff.

Polworth, who I rate, really has to start imposing himself in games.  He has the talent but IS NOT SHOWING IT AND HAS TO IMPROVE.

Totally agree,  it will be interesting to see the penalty again, as from where we were sitting it looked like a dive, and nine bookings in the game shows how bad a referee Thomson is.

  15. I agree with most of the comments on the match against United. Calder and Vigures had good games. Polworth again disappointing, maybe some time coming off the bench would do him good. Mulraney can beat a man but needs to learn how to release the ball better, not enough end product. And we needed to put their keeper under more pressure at set pieces, he plucked everything out of the air. The final third is still a worry, we need to find more penitration, Oakley look OK but who partners him? I think when we get Doran Tremarco Warren Seedorf and Elbouzedi back we will have a side who can mount a challenge.

  16. Hi, I'm new to the forum, just joined, and have been a season ticket holder for several seasons.  Until a few years ago I used to work on Saturdays so i could only see the occasional game, but I was an Inverness Thistle supporter, home and away since 1970. As regards the name, I just recall a letter that someone had sent to the courier suggesting taking the CA from caley and the STLE from thistle and calling the team Inverness Castle fc. I thought that it was quite a good idea at the time.
