  1. It felt like you were waiting for a Dundee utd goal and when it didn’t come and they had a man sent off there was an opportunity to get a win. Unable to put the ball in the net = missed opportunity. Unable to clear ball and lose last minute poor goal; very familiar. Making a double sub before free kick leading up to the goal in hindsight was a poor decision. Probably harsh not getting a draw but that’s football and you win games by scoring goals. Blah blah blah blah…and so it goes on 🤪

  2. Offside decisions looked suspect to say the least. Couple of good shots from Gilmour going close. Good goal from Shaw although keeper maybe at fault. Waiting on making changes required gave Dunfermline the opportunity to get back in the game. It was glaringly obvious that fresh legs were required.  Poor decision by Ridgers to come for the ball as didn’t look any need to. Harper requires to stop giving the ball to the opposition and inviting pressure. Probably would have seen the game out and had chances to kill it off had we avoided losing poor goal; still at that unfortunately. Hopefully with the new additions we can consolidate and push on in the league. Better signs and nice that we weren’t having to chase the game for a change. Although the three points were there for us today and disappointing not to take them. Dunfermline sniffed a steal at the end and good we resisted that.

Notwithstanding our concerns with the CEO, Sporting Director, Manager and coaches, I’ve been considering how we could turn things round on the park if there was the appetite to change our approach.

We have some decent players at Championship level but are not getting the best out of them.

Despite our defensive frailties which have cost us in several games already, we’ve stuck with four at the back despite wanting our full backs to get forward. That’s leaving us short of numbers at the back whenever we (frequently) lose possession.

Davidson and Harper are both capable going forward, so to tighten things up I suggest we go 3 5 2 with two wing backs in the 5.

We’d need Duffy or Ram back to be able to do it, and it also gives us the added benefit of 3 in central midfield where we have been getting outnumbered.

The only downside I can see is how we fit Shaw in, given he’s been our best performer in several of the games but his pace with Mckay in the front 2 could work well.

Looking at the line ups in today’s top flight matches, 5 teams have gone with 3 at the back, with only Celtic starting with 4.

    Any other thoughts?

We could do with another experienced central defender and another proven goal scorer; the missing ingredients.

  4. Caley Thistle lose five competitive games in a row for the first time since January 2009, when Craig Brewster was manager and Gordon Brown was Prime Minister.

At least that run of defeats included Celtic and Rangers rather than Dumbarton and Airdrie

  5. Surprised to find out that Queens goalkeeper was 16yr old. Very confident and able goalkeeper. Made some very good saves; particularly one against Billy McKay in the first half and preventing Bray when through on him in second half. Samuels had what appeared to be an easy chance to beat him from close range right at the beginning of the second half but somehow put it into the side netting; I’m not boasting but I reckon I could have scored it with a pair of sunglasses on 😎🤪

  6. I thought overall that was a good performance. The fact that Dundee couldn’t get the two goals they needed and exited the cup themselves was some evidence. You would also like to think we have a bit more to produce yet all things considered. Samuels is getting into the right positions and if he just takes a bit more care with final strike hopefully will start scoring. Saturday against Queens would be a good time for him to demonstrate scoring ability. Let’s get right behind them all come Saturday and get the season rolling by rolling over Queens 👸🤪

  7. Let’s give some praise to Airdrie for coming north securing three points and giving all ICT fans something to mull over. They would probably would have thought they there was a fair chance prior to arriving given the respective team situation; ie no one could argue they weren’t the more settled side at present. However ICT could also have won the game and we now have analysis of what went right/wrong. With that in mind if a player makes a glaring mistake it is usually obvious and there is no hiding place; they have to hold up their hands and accept. Then obviously rectify if possible in future games. Anyone verbally castigating them or blaming them from the coaching staff for causing a defeat will only cause further disharmony within the team. The players know if they have messed up and they will not want to let their team mates down. It’s a bit more tricky when looking at what went wrong tactically around player selection and formations; both before and during games. However if players have to hold up their hands and admit mistakes then it seems entirely reasonable that so do the coaching/management. You can learn by your mistakes after all we all make them so that’s not the issue the issue is owning them learning from them and being supported to improve.  A phrase that we hear a lot is telling players to be brave on the ball ; and I would add if your brave and make a mistake don’t worry as we will support you; not castigate you. Football is after all a large part to do with confidence and momentum as we all know. Hopefully behind the scenes this culture is being fostered and the game time verbals are the cut and thrust of battle and not things that fester.  After all we all want the same end result and given the season is just starting its in everyone’s interest to support each other and not play the blame game.

Who was the guy that Dodds took such exception  to near the end? Had a right old ding dong. Dodds was clearly  raging with him. Couldn't  make out what was said sadly.

The guy in question was sat near me and was pissed and hurling abuse through the game. At one point guy sat in front of him complained due to spit from his vitriol landing on his head; made no difference and he continued. Completely out of order. As the game was finishing he went down to the pitch where he must have given some of his abuse to Dodds; who in the tense finish to the game has reacted. The abusive individual was 100% out of order; no excuse at all for that behaviour. An extremely bad example to all ICT fans.

  9. We looked like winning it after equalizing and had a bit of momentum. Wasn't to be. Hopefully all the decisions towards the end 're Samuels- was it a penalty?- was it a goal? Are correct ? Bring on the tic

  10. Another final to look forward to. Excellent win. Let Falkirk knock it about and bumped them when required. We could have paid the price for two defensive mix ups if the falkirk players had been sharper. However another famous victory and looking forward to the final. Well done to players and management for masterminding it 😃 now to mastermind the final 😃

  11. A gritty performance today to get the point and nearly snaffling three towards the end. We miss Welsh in the middle but have to say Allardice did the work of two. Dan Mackays run to create the equaliser was good and Samuels kept the heid to finish. Still plenty to play for; dust down and on to hampden 😃
