  1. Bucket, I dont get to many home games so I dont buy a season ticket. To alleviate the guilt I sponsor a player. Cost works out a little more than the season ticket but I do get a top at the end of season. This sponsorship is, in effect, paying for the players kit for the season thus releasing money for other things.

  2. Is this venue a glorified pub or a concert hall. The Highlands badly need a good concert venue that has a  2 - 3 thousand capacity and caters for all tastes. Eden Court can serve a purpose but is more a venue for the thespian arts.

Marty and Mee, I think you both should call a truce here. Marty is right in that there are probably a lot of metal fans but Mee is also right in saying that most of them would not spend their cash on tribute bands.

  3.                                                       Brown

                                                Caff    Dods    Munro

Rossco or Hart    Wilson    Black    Rankin    Hastings

                                                  McAllister    Dargo

  4. For what its worth I have seen the Corries a few times including the early days when they were a threesome. Another good folk duo who have been around for a few years are Gaberlunzie. Then theres the McCalmans and Capercaille both of whom have their own style of folk. And dont forget the Battlefield Band. Scotland has an abundance of excellent folk bands.

Hamish said: I'll book System Of A Down for you and get some decent music up in the Highlands for the first time ever probably!

I ask, what is decent music? What I like is what is decent to me, doesn't mean others think the same. Music, like any art form, provides different appeals to different people. Because I dont like something does not make it cr*p.

As for ceilidh bands. I cant see past Fergie MacDonald. :003:

  5. Marty, Barry's a striker though he's been playing a midfield role the last two seasons. Also isn't Zander also a front man.

natn, we need all those extra midfielders to cover for CC's new attacking 3-5-2 formation. :003:

  6. Marty, we already have six or seven strikers. What we need is players who can attack and defend from the midfield and who can hold up the ball and feed it to the strikers.

As for squad size, yes its bigger that CC envisaged but I can see one or two of the younger lads going out on loan for a spell to gain some experience. Possibly Highland league.

  7. Favourite cinema memory has nothing to do with the movie but more with the female that accompanied me. :003:

My earliest memory is as a youngster of about six or seven. I got to stay up late so I could go and see Greyfriars Bobby which was being shown by the visiting 'Highlands and Islands Film Guild' in Roy Bridge village hall. they charged us kids thrupence back then.

  8. To the tune Daisy, Daisy............and if you dont know it ask your mummy.

  9. The licencing laws in Scotland allow children into bars that have either a family licence, i.e they have an area seperate from the main bar and they have toilet facilities etc suitable for children, or a food licence where the children can come in for a meal with adults.

As far as the Innes is concerned the licence allows the serving of food monday to friday. Colin doesn't want a food licence at weekends because the bar is usually too busy with football fans. Technically children are not allowed in on a saturday but Colin and Scooby turn a blind eye, pre-match, for most of the games. For the bigger games, i.e Aberdeen, Rangers and Celtic the police stipulate what is required as part of their crowd control plans. They demand doorpersons, no mixed fans and no colours to be displayed in the bars. Colin doesn't allow children on these days because the police could pay a visit to ensure he's abiding by their rules.

Hope that makes the situation clear for all.

  10. Good comment. Maybe we should cash in on Marco Brown - we don't seem to need him. *touch wood*

I think its because of Brown that our defensive record is as it is. Over the latter part of last season he has become more vocal in controlling his defense and he has pulled of some cracking saves.

At the very least Mark should be Scotland No 2 if they insist on Gordon for No 1.
