Another greenie given going to be a job keeping you on the level PML

Perhaps the persons who gave reds would man up and state their reason for such

If Hibs loose to Falkirk or Killie and Hibs it in the cup I cant see them staying with Stubbs - a 3rd year in the 2nd tier. Maybe then we wouldn't need to find money which would make some fans happy.

Haven't Hibs just given Stubbs an extension?

The club have offered free tickets to the children of Hilton Primary, I'm assuming they may have approached the other local schools too....if this encourages some adults to attend too, it may fill up the stands for the cameras if nothing else.

cancel that - this is actually for the final game of the season vs Dundee. My mistook! :hiding02:

Is this not done in conjunction with CJT? I'm sure there is some scheme whereby a different group or school are given tickets each home game

I wonder how many times Thomson has asked himself how things might have turned out for Utd if he'd paid the very reasonable sum of compensation ICT were asking for Hughes?

Compensation? My understanding is that KC refused to let DU talk to JH so I doubt any comp was offered at that point.

Whoever takes over is going to have one hell of a start. Most of the squad, including Rankin and Ofere, have been told today they are surplus to requirement. Where do you start if you dont even have the bones of a squad. Whoever takes the job is going to have to build from scratch and still be expected to compete at top of Championship

  5. Rankin and Ofere told today they are surplus to requirement at DU along with a number of other players. Also no manager so what kind of game is Friday going to be now? I'd be surprised if any fans actually travel now.

The statement from the club clarifies and adds the transparency we have been seeking but doesn't still align with the message from Yogi. There is another interesting article from the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36165670 - this suggests the public targets from Partick are now outwith our reach.

If as suggestions around that Doran is about to resign, hopefully he can provide the missing creative spark, also given that Vigurs staying seems likely we are close to a starting 11. The comments about quality over quantity perhaps suggest that some of the 'emergency' signings due to our injury issues maybe on their way as they just haven't cut it at this level - Hughes, R.Williams, Fisher, Wedderburn are 4 that spring to mind - Roberts has disappeared so whether he is no longer in the plans or has agreed to go elsewhere its safe to assume he is gone and Mutumbo is really a player that's 50/50 - he has got better but will he make the grade longterm.

The striker position is the huge concern, where to find that goalscorer? Is always a gamble - Storey started well but has faded a bit perhaps due to loss of confidence and also being out of position. We see Billy McKay scored goals for fun with us but at DUtd cant get a run going, we had Sam Winnall and he never looked anything like a player when here but is now top scorer in League 1 down south - somewhere a gamble has to be made because we cant afford a proven scorer unfortunately.

I hope not. We need him. Also how can you judge that Fisher hasn't cut it at this level. He played half a game for us then got injured. Second your comment on Billy McKay is a bit out. He scored 54 times for us in 121 games. Thats 2.24 games per goal. Hes scored 12 in 26 games at United. Thats 2.16 games per goal. Sam Winnall ony made two starts for us and he was on loan.

    who are you asking about?

I believe the question is aimed at whoever steals other peoples comments on Twitter and posts them on FB in the name of Inverness Loyal Army. In other words plagiarism

From what I can garner from 'looking back' through the records of our SPL/Premiership home games, it is indeed a record low crowd - for the Caledonian Stadium.

Obviously, there have been lower crowds for some Cup games - and we dipped below 2,000 on a few occasions when we were using Pittodrie as our home.
But, reliable figures from our first period in the SPL are difficult to source - so I've reluctantly used Wikipedia's entries for that period. So could be subject to error...I'm happy to stand corrected.

But, for now, the 2,228 is the record low crowd for a top-tier league fixture at the TCS.

Attendances for most games back to 2004/5 can be found on this site. Look in Teams/Fixtures. Lowest 'home' league crowd at Pittodrie was 1125 v Dundee United 23rd Nov 2004. A Tuesday night. Lowest home crowd at TCS prior to relegation was 3021 v Livingston Saturday May 7th 2005. Lowest crowd in 09/10 season was 2008 v Airdrie on Tuesday night 23rd March 2010. Lowest crowd since coming back into Prem is 2366 v Motherwell on April 1st 2014. Again a Tuesday night. So yes Sundays game v Killie is the new Premier league record low attendance

  9. There certainly isn't any rainy day fund. Accounts to 15 May 2015 showed a profit of £254k Year before was £28k and each season before that we ran at break even or loss. Last year our income was roughly £4.65 million Our costs including wages £4.4 million. That didnt include Christie sale or Cup moneys. It'll be interesting to see how the books balance this year.

As to Hughes strategy. I'm as baffled as anyone but inclined to think 1. Waiting to see exactly what position we finish before committing. 2. Offload a couple of high earners in the hope its easier to get loan defenders than strikers and have a bigger offer for striker. Being cynical here but I wonder if a certain Mr Stokes could be on the radar when his loan at Hibs is over. Dont know if he's got much left on Celtic contract

Quite possibly three of the most passionate players ICT have had but sadly it doesn't appear to tick any of the boxes at the club :-(  ..  Any update in today's press re David Raven ?

Aye. Looks like he's being ousted to make way for forwards. Personally I'd have dumped Horner and kept Raven but I'm not the manager

Just a wee word again about Eat Fife.

Not only  were they top of the  Scottish football scene in their heyday but they have now won the Division they are in at this time and so will move upwards again next season.

Whether Bayview Park will be sufficient to house the hordes of away fans that hopefully will flock to Methil  is a moot point. It's not the most inspiring place on earth I have to admit but, to be quite frank, I enjoyed some of the matches there  in my younger days immensely.  These were the days when they played with five forwards all in a row across the park and watching the play flow  from man to man was both idyllic stuff and reminded me of a top rugby team in full flight.

As I have previously opined,East Fife were once so in demand for  matches, even in England, that they just wore the team out and then the demise and downward momentum started .

C'mon  the Fifers, even if the huge coal pits are a faint memory now.

Did you guys know that Methil was once the premier coal-exporting port in Great Britain. Yep, them were the days.:clapoverhead:

EFFC moved stadium to Methyl docks in 98 Scarlet. They have one all seater stand that holds 1980 bums and they also hire in temporary stands for expected big crowds.

This is one of the variables which it's difficult to control. Dingwall may well be Ross County's base, but the club's effective catchment area is far, far wider. Taking Scotland as a designated area is a lot less ambiguous, although even there you do have loads of Irish coming across to Celtic Park and Ibrox - which again is evidence that the OF are artificially inflating Scottish numbers.

Very true and since Ross County reached the Premiership there have been a lot more travelling across the bridge from Inverness every other week

Not complaining about this season as I know it's unrealistic to expect what we got last season every year, but I don't get this mentality of wanting to just survive every year, surely there has to be a point where you need to be more ambitious? What's the point of surviving to survive? Or have I misread your post

There are sixteen or seventeen teams capable of competing in top flight. As performances go just now all bar four are very much a match for each other. Everyone of those teams can take points from and lose points to every other and from time to time take points from the top four. We're all in the same boat so surviving in top league has to be the main aim with anything higher being a bonus
