  1. In some respects he was our best ever manager.

    How?

For starters he got us our highest SPL finishes IIRC, but what I had in mind was that I think we played our best and most attractive (SPL) football under his reign.

    No we didn't :rotflmao:

We either hit long balls towards Bayne, or we hit long balls over the top for Dargo to run on to.

Charlie was a smashing player and is a smashing guy, but the players looked lost under him. IMO we would have been relegated had CC stayed.

when CC was the manager i dont think there was anything in the papers about players falling out with him

Yeah, him and Black got on just dandy. I remember Charlie's relationship with the players was at an all time high after our 3-1 defeat to Dunfermline.

  2. Who brought us success?

    Who brought us sexy football?

Who made it worth the admission to watch even when we got beat?

Who had an eye for inexpensive genuine talent?

    Who brought us Brown..Robson..Juanjo..Hastings..Stewart..Daisy..Barry..etc....

Who was born and bred in the Highlands?

Who is one of our own?

PELE IS THAT MAN....BRING BACK PELE NOW AND STOP THIS ROT!

Forget the lowland haddies like Brew, Robbo, Park amd other like Smith, Scott, Bone etc and bring back the guy who made it a joy to watch ICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    iT

Sorry, you lost all my respect after that bit.

  3. Im pretty sure the Cowie - Rangers link will be dead after his woeful display two weeks ago.

Think he could maybe do a job at Charlton or Leeds though.

It's looking more likely that we will have him at least until the end of the season.

A couple of months ago I would have bit your hand off for 6 more months of Cowie in an ICT shirt.

    Now I'm not so sure...

  4. It's the disappearing act he does that annoys me, sometimes a passenger during games, although he is not alone in that respect. A couple of years is long enough for someone who has natural skills to display them, especially a forward player. Maybe he has peaked.

After couple of years of proffesional training possibly. His natural ability is what I don't doubt. His juniors team will have likely trained 2-3 times a week for about 2 hours after work, and the quality of coaching will be (with all due respect to the fantastic juniors coaches) pretty low. I think its a testament to his natural skills that he has kept the pace so well. The rest of our squad have been involved with professional clubs since about the age of 14. When they turned 16/17 most will have left school and will have trained full time, for 3 or 4 hours every day of the week bar sunday, with dietricians and physios, and the highest level of coaching.

  5. How can they have a waiting list when they say that they'll be "paying for free bus travel for all fans who want to see their SPL game at Hamilton Accies".

Surely if people want to go they are now duty bound to put on enough buses to accommodate them?

I'm not sure, thats just what Kath said when I phoned her tonight.

Perhaps it is simply a waiting list of 3 or 4 people, and they are waiting for cancellations rather than lay on another bus.

    But I don't know.

  6. :rotflmao:

One of our most attacking players. Until Morais arrived, Imrie was quite literally the only player in our squad willing to take his man on, hit the by-line and cross the ball. He needs a lot of work yes, but as others point out he has only been playing professional football for a couple of years. Unlike the rest of them, he has not had the basic skills drilled into him on a full-time basis since he was 15 years old.

There's no way he's on ridiculous wages, so I'd rather we kept him, even if its on the bench for a while.

Throwing away a player with as much potential as Imrie has would be folly.

    AND NOT ANDY BARROWMAN!

I believe I can spot a wee mistake in this!

I agree, Esson at full back is an awful idea.

  8. Gatheussi can play anywhere across the back......according to Brewster.

Where's Rory gone then? (I must've missed it).

I don't think there's any doubt another striker will be in before the end of January, so that still leaves four.

See the Byrne MFR link for Rory.

4 strikers is about right for and SPL club. Remember when Bayne, Wyness and Dargo were all out and we had only one left.

As for Gathuessi, don't know why Brewster says that, as I can assure you he is a right back.

  9. I know it's impossible to work out Brewster's thinkings, but with all these signings, is this a simple competition for places move, or is it the end for some of our long standing players?

Is Hastings on his way? That's Byrne :rotflmao: and Gatheussi (who can supposedly play across the middle as well) both competing with him.

McGuire? Duff? Seems like, and from the very little I've seen of him, Mihadjuks could be the answer to our defensive woes.

    Morais.....any place for Imrie now?

An experienced striker? Do we really need 5 strikers? Who'll go?

And that's just who's arrived now. There could well be a few new faces by the time the window closes.

So, come the end of the window, is our team going to be recognisable from the one that started at Aberdeen on the first day of the season?

A hell of a lot of questions I know......

Gathuessi is a right back. And we only have three strikers with Rory going on loan.

  10. Still a couple of seats available on minibus. Unfortunately it's not free, but it will suit those who might not have planned to go as they prefer to get down there a bit earlier and then straight back up the road afterwards.

Let me know if you're interested.

If you'd come via Aberdeen :rotflmao:

  11. How come?

Cheapest return on the train is ?48 (no cheape singles left) and even though I received a kind offer of a lift to the game from another poster yesterday(?) I have now made other plans sadly. Should be back in time to catch the game on the radio though.

Yeah, the price really put me off initially, and I wasn't planning on going until they brought the ticket prices down. Now it should be only a little bit more than a normal away day, but I can see why you wouldn't fancy it.

I ask I was wondering if you had been rebuffed by the supporters club re the coming via Aberdeen.
