  1. Yes but whats to say he didnt get a call today ?

could of done, but club saying yesterday they had 2 interviews to conduct today and tommorrow,if they havent contacted robbo how do they know if hes available on those days?

Its only Blackiefarce that thinks King Kenny didnt have a hugely successful managerial career though she / he seems unwilling to give examples of hugely successful managers . :rotflmao:

i dont need to prove anything to anyone about managers, but lets say alex ferguson as 1,please lets get back on topic, as neither has a chance of being ict manager

  2. Maybe it is another journalistic error and it should have been Saturday evening in an Edinburgh hotel.... :rotflmao:

wishful thinking on robbo,s behalf i think as both parties in edinburgh on sat evening

interviewed on friday night ,he is not going to say anything as he would be told to keep quiet, if you heard bennet on radio he was saying that there is a need to get some one that does not mind staying in inverness ,ROBBO

why would he be told to keep quiet? everyone knows he applied for it,so what if hes interviewed the club just looking at all options.makes grassa/fraser/the board look silly if hes saying hes had no contact from the club(on there say so) then gets the job on tuesday

  3. I heard his very words as well Marty. Just wonder how much the club had to pay for a days hire of a Lear jet. Assuming the average interview takes 3 hrs. The club admit to two down south. The herald reports Robbo was interviewed in Inverness. On this site it was reported that Grassa was in Glasgow, Norwich, Manchester, Aberdeen and so on and so on. Believe nothing till you see it with your own eyes I say.

it wasnt a lear jet it was a time machine ,took 3 seconds to get to birmingham and back :rotflmao: all we know for sure was grassa was "south" and returned on friday lunchtime, where he actually was is unsure. do we know if he actually flew/ didnt interviews last time for manager take place in gleneagles?

  4. Sunday Herald, still has Robbo as the front runner, so it 's still clear as mud

Just read that. Don't know what we're supposed to believe. Blackieforce mentions earier in this thread that Robbo claimed in commentary that he hadn't been asked for an interview. And yet:

"Robertson was interviewed by his friend, club chief executive Graeme Bennett, and chairman George Fraser at an Inverness hotel on Friday. Terms were discussed which would see Robertson take over until the end of the season, with the option of a longer contract depending on whether Caley Thistle were still in the SPL or relegated to the First Division."

So is Robbo just being coy? Or is the Sunday Herald writing p!sh?

mmm someone somewhere is lying, robbo saaid yesterday during ict commentary no-one from club had contacted him,and if he ddint hear today he thought he would be out the running

  5. i seriously believe it will be a surprisingly big name. maybe not along the same lines of dalglish, maybe someone with the same reputation though. at least with the show yesterday, the players showed the new manager that he has something to work with.

when you say reputation, what do u mean ? reputation for what? dalglish i would say certainly hasnt been a hugely sucessful manager

Kenny Dalglish not a successful manager?

Yeah, let's hope we don't get someone like him in!?

i didnt say wasnt sucessful,i said wasnt hugely sucessful

i have delted above what he didnt actually win,as coming 2nd with a club like liverpool isnt a sucsess

all those jobs above he was given large sums of cash to spend, get him in at ict give him ?50,000 to spend a season, and i bet he does nothing!

  6. not seen or heard anything, just a hunch.

i mean someone with the same experience in football as a player and manager. i thought he made a decent job of manager, won the league with Blackburn.

yes but look at the cash he was given at blackburn,he didnt do much at newcastle

guys like dalglish might be reasonable at blackburn but a job at ict or similar where he had little cash he wouldnt survive

  7. whats all the fuss about calderwood? he seems to be exactly the same as malpas, a failure.

i have a funny feeling that the manager will be someone no-one reckoned with. not a nobody, but someone who has been out of the public eye for a while now.

    ian holloway anyone?

was that a guess or have u seen/heard something?

i seriously believe it will be a surprisingly big name. maybe not along the same lines of dalglish, maybe someone with the same reputation though. at least with the show yesterday, the players showed the new manager that he has something to work with.

when you say reputation, what do u mean ? reputation for what? dalglish i would say certainly hasnt been a hugely sucessful manager

  8. No your right , excuse my stupidity , of course managing a team at the bottom of the SPL is a bigger job than managing an International side :rotflmao:

a team like faroes, then yes ict is bigger, excuse my stupidity :thumb04:

    Kenny Dalglish?
    could

we afford him? certainly enough golf coruses around here to keep him happy :018:

  9. I see Colin Calderwood has become manager of the Faroe Islands. No chance of him coming now.

said in todays paper he was on a short list of 3 for the faores job

I see Colin Calderwood has become manager of the Faroe Islands. No chance of him coming now.

There was never any chance of Calderwood coming here .

so faroes job is a bigger job than ict? certainly more hassle getting there than inverness :rotflmao:

Where has anyone said that ?

i didnt say anyone did say that just asked a question,as you said claderwood would never come here, yet he would take faroes job, which says to me it has more appeal

  10. I see Colin Calderwood has become manager of the Faroe Islands. No chance of him coming now.

  11. I am prepared to make the sacrifice and hang around in the Heathmount bar for two days to find out who the next manager will be.

we,ll all club together and pay your 2 day bar bill in a quest to find out/influence grassa on the new manager.

iam sure we colud strecth to enough for 2-3 shandies a day :rotflmao:

  12. Unless Robbo is down at the club this afternoon for an interview then it is not to be for him....

The club statement yesterday already seems to infer that all the four candidates are new men to the north as they will have to relocate....

robbo said on commentary yesterday he hasnt been asked for interview,so unless they phone him today hes out

I would be delighted with a Butcher/Malpas combo.

So would I - at Hamilton or Falkirk.... :018:

    lol very true!

butcher and a n other as assistant, but please no malpas!!! :thumb04: :rotflmao:

Archie Knox-not exactly my ideal choice for a manager but i suppose none of the candidates jump out at me.

iam more keen on butcher but if we can only get butcher with malpas,i would rather take sutton/knox

anyone going down to the club today/tommorrow to see who arrives? or knows where grassa stays and follow his every move until tuesday lunchtime!

  13. Just glanced at 2 papers in the shop this morning. One had a Butcher & Malpas combination as the favourite and the other Archie Knox. Both said Robbo had no chance of getting the job.

butcher yes,butcher/malpas a definte no-no,as butcher will probably keep on scotland job and we,ll have that clown malaps in charge some weeks :thumb04:

I would be delighted with a Butcher/Malpas combo.
    you serious :rotflmao:
  14. [btw Latvian striker Andrejs Butriks yesterday has flown back to Latvia. He was on trial in Inverness, has showed a good performance, but there is nobody, who can make decisions about player transfers, because head coach Brewster is gone, but new coach isn't there yet. Maybe Butriks will come another time on trial, when the new coach comes.

maybe john doc will have seen enough to alert the new manager to him, pavels could do with a fellow latvian to keep him here a few season,s

  15. Maybe Chris Sutton would be that man.

he probably could do a job for us short term, but like brewster didnt he have to give up due to injury?. hasnt sutton got some eye injury

    eye he's finished :rotflmao:

saying that i think martin o,neil has been touting sutton for the job, so there obviously good firends, maybe villa have a reserve striker we could loan for the season
  16. I would happily take Robbo back but I've heard a rumour (one of these sources of a source type one) that Butcher was in Inverness yesterday

Think Robbo would be gr8 for ICT - sure he can keep u guys in the SPL - by the way please pass on the Jambos thanks for the tremendous respect the ICT fans showed during the minute's silence yesterday - That is how it should be observed!! TAKE NOTE YOU HIBEES!

robbo might be ok,but also depends on who his assistant is,some managers work well only with certain guys, robbo with parkie and if parkie doesnt come i think robbo would be out of his depth with anyone else

  17. Is it just me but were the 3rd and 4th goals caused by Grant not having the speed to cut off the crosses after Roy was sent off? Grant is a good central defender but surely not a left back. Could or should they have put Vigurs back to left back?

grantie isnt a left back, but in the coaches defence they werent in full charge of the team so were doing the best they could, its upto the new manager to identify who can and cant play where

Who was in charge of the team then?

doc was in temporary charge for 1 game,ok maybe he made the wrong decision, but putting vigurs there without black being on the park would of stifiled the midfield and we wouldnt of produced anything,as vigurs was running most of the mid
  18. I take the point about Baz not having the experience, but he'd be a far better choice than Archie Knox - I don't think he'd fit in well at ICT at all. Who knows, the board will probably suprise us all anyway!

if the board are considering sutton/knox(sutton as manager) then i suppsoe they could also consider wilson as manager(none of this player manager crap, the manager needs to coach from the sidelines to give his all)but he would need to have a very experienced assistant(charlie isnt the man for that job iam afraid)who that would be iam not sure, maybe donald park, but highly doubt he,ll leave his job in edinburgh where he stays to travel up here,so who else does that leave to work along side barry??

saying the board will suprise us makes me happy and nervous,98% of all candidates i would accept(even rookies given a expereicned assistant)but malpas i CERTAINLY dont want,if he comes in we might as well just accept were relegated now and all the players can have a holiday the rest of the season

  19. Is it just me but were the 3rd and 4th goals caused by Grant not having the speed to cut off the crosses after Roy was sent off? Grant is a good central defender but surely not a left back. Could or should they have put Vigurs back to left back?

  20. Tokely is one of the reasons we are bottom of the league. He just isn't good enough.

you are joking arent you?? theres a few players not good enough for the team or spl,but rossco certainly isnt one of them :rotflmao:

Nope. I realise that there are a lot of young guys that think he is great. But I think he is one of the reasons why we are bottom of the league. He just isn't a footballer.

You get 100% from him alright, and that's not in dispute. I just think he has been poor the past couple of seasons and I think he is a poor player. If we want to improve as a team then we need better players and he would be one of the first out the door for me.

I appreciate that his fan club will jump in here and defend him. But I don't think he is the player he was when we came up at first.

iam not young, and think hes one of icts best players
