  1. I would put that back and ask with the way you are defending it do you have any proof that he was offered a new contract at the start of the season

Proof is what is lacking, so both stories have no substance. Maybe this thread should be moved to the rumour mill?

Well the topic is kinda based on a story from a statement released by the club wich on BBC sport. Therefore its not a rumour but speculation of a published story. Although to slander anyone (ie Grassa) at this stage is something we have been kindly asked by board admin (ie Scotty) not to do. Unless he (Grassa) is shown to be incompetent then we are not supposed to say otherwise. Although technically we could say the inactivity makes him look totally incompetent. Which it does.

And if a DoF was to take a holiday mid season it reeks of non professionalism. What would we say if a manager or player did likewise.

I was being sarcastic when I said Tenerife, but I was not when I said he was away on holisay, the meeting was cancelled because he was away on holiday, dont we have a right to an answer, why dont we just pop down the road, make an appointment with Grassa and ask him, or cant we do a copy or remake of A FEW GOOD MEN, me being Tom Cruise and get our side kicks to check the airline flight tickets, this would be all the proof we need, if anyone can tell me where to go and get the proof, I will do it personally and you are spot on IT DOES REEK OF NON PROFESSIONLISM. All jokes aside, as this is not really funny, we are bad at the moment, so any improvement would be welcome, and I might smile a bit more, if I knew Blackie was tied up for the next 4 years (to us), it would be a start, he has said he wants to stay, so why are we not getting our a**** in gear?

  2. Alex,

    1. I've already explained twice in the past when you've used the "it's an emolument not a salary" argument that they amount to the same thing. Surely I don't need to do so a third time?

    2. You are correct, Charles Bannerman has as good as called Ian Black a liar for saying that he had not (at the time) been approached by the club. Quite a bold, if not somewhat compromising, position for him to have placed himself in. Other journalist might have just reported on the content of the interview without making such sweeping conclusions.

    3. Given the fact that most, if not all, clubs are largely subsidised by "non-footballing" income streams I don't think that any player (whether obtained for free or not) could be said to have turned a profit where little or no selling fee is received on their departure.

    4. We're also only 5 points from the bottom of the table...so as I said, just!!!

By definition "emolument" implies Grassa has to work damn hard for it, could it possibly be travelling expenses and accomodation while on company business? I don't know. Very few know and why should we! ;)

Someone is lying, ask yourself who will still be here in a couple of seasons and is more likely to lose face if they lied. :018:

What non-footballing income streams do we have? A car boot sale? :thumb04:

Glass half empty here too. :rotflmao:

Blackie is quoted in the P & J today as saying he has had one offer, and through my source, it has been told to me the offer was made only weeks ago and this was at BREWS insistance, the story goes, they were concentrating on Cowie, thought they had plenty of time to tie up the others, F***** Joke, Grassa at his best. So who was it telling the Porkies, I can tell you honestly, and I believe my mate, Blackie was not lying when he gave his statement, THE CLUB HAD NOT APPROACHED HIM, the agent was coming up, only to be cancelled, because Grassa was away on his HOLS, another F***** Jke, but is this not the story of or lives, he is stating today, he wants to stay, does anyone know if Grassa flew to Tenerife today, that would be par for the course, again the story of our lives.

  3. I'll say this again.

Perhaps the recent quotes from Ian Black refer to the fact that the club have not returned to him with an improved offer, rather than not having offered him one at all.

No lies. No defamation. No histrionics. Just a simple explanation for what was, prior to Grassa's interview this week, a confusing scenario.

I have to wonder, given the virulence with which Caley D and stevico are pursuing this matter; do you know for a fact that Ian Black was not offered a contract at the start of the season?

    Yes

  4. Where is the proof that DoF is to blame?

It would be great to have Ian Black on a long term contract, but don't be so naive to think that the ICT board/management have not realised that as well. I am sure something will be happening in the background, they just have not got round to posting on the website or emailing everyone on this site yet.

I have to agree IN PART, the board WILL have realised their mistake by now, BLACKIE< COWIE ....WILL....go in January and NOT at the end of the season, prospective clubs WILL put their offers in to take them away in January, and because we have F***** up YET again (Bennet), we will have to sell for a fraction of their worth, so where does this leave us then, dont tell me, I already know,oh and if it is not the DOF's fault then who's is it, he deals with the contracts, and if his strings are being pulled or reigned in, then dont we have a right to know.?

Gillian I hope you are wrong about them both going in Jan, but I have a horrible feeling you may be right , if this does happen it will be a disaster for the club, losing our 2 biggest assest for next to nothing

Stevico1, I am gutted, but the reality is this is what is going to happen, it is in their eyes the only way they can re coup some money, it is a joke and someone MUST be made to take responsibility, we need answers, they are two off our best players, and we do need them, their mistakes are no longer funny or acceptable, but what can we do, NOTHING, where will we be next season, certainly not in the league we are in at present, it beggars belief that they or should I say the board, because I know that even with the issues Brew and Blackie had Brew is no daft cookie, he knows what he has in these two players, and that he needs them, his hands are tied, and that in itself is sad, someone ANYONE needs to stand up and give answers, can I say, even if we dont like the answer, the answer would be better than the not knowing the reason at all, this is MY opinion, and I am not getting at anyone else.

  5. Sorry stevico, give me a hug............................I am also wondering about some comments about Baza being a veteran and past it.............strewth, he's but a youngster,.................35/36

/37.......in his prime ye of little faith.

:rotflmao: sorry mftj couldnt find a hug will that do?? we are talking about a legend here and why hasnt he been a coach through no fault of his own I am sure, who would you rather as a coach shearer or wilson, aside from that he has still got a lot to offer as a player IMHO

Stevico1, I can give you the answer to that, they cant give him a coaching role, as he would show Brew up, he is a good person as well as a player, and possibly coach, he has the respect and support of the players, whilst great for him imagine the problems this would cause for Brew and his side kicks.

  6. Where is the proof that DoF is to blame?

It would be great to have Ian Black on a long term contract, but don't be so naive to think that the ICT board/management have not realised that as well. 7. Black quoted in Tuesdays Courier as saying:

"My agent hasn't heard anything from the club, so all I'm doing is concentrating on playing football," said the Edinburgh-born player who has made over 120 appearances for Inverness. "I don't think I've let it affect my performances and I'm sure that if I keep up my consistency then everything will be fine."

Just what exactly is Bennet doing?! :rotflmao:

Unbelievable. On the 1st of January, Balckie will be able to speak to other clubs with a view to leaving for free in the summer. Will someone else make him an offer before we do?

To those suggesting that a lack of finances may be the stumbling block - Ian Black, in the from that he's currently showing, is one of biggest financial assets the club has. To risk losing him for nothing makes no financial or footballing sense.

What the **** is going on?

    Brewster knows what he's doing.

    :thumb04:

I am not a Brew fan as everyone knows , however this time I dont believe the fault lies with him, though saying he knows what he is doing maybe pushing it just a tad too far, but back to basics, the fault lies with Bennet, and has been said previously, he has failed misserably either way, 1. we should have had Blackie tied up long ago, lets face it , we need him he is an asset, 2. or we should be getting money for him, either way Bennet has f***** up, and that is plain for everyone to see. So can anyone tell me where we go from here as we look to be loosing all the key players who are the neucleaus of the team? (spell check not working)

  8. If it's true that no offer has yet been made to either Black or his agent then that is a cause for serious concern.

I believe i said this in or around October, feckin pathetic, get rid of bennet and pay his wage to the boys we need to keep.

  9. From : Professor Johndo MacKenzie; Principle Tactician, The Royal Academy of Footballing Tactics, Chorley, Lancashire.

When yer team is sinking - get on the Raft. :D

    Craig,

Initially this season you were given another chance and the slate was wiped clean. Unfortunately your behaviour in class changed little and you continued to be smug, arrogant, self centred and apparently unwilling to accept constructive criticism and/or professional advice and guidance. Your treatment of some seasoned professionals was simply looked at in disdain.

However I do note that in recent weeks you have began to take heed of your lessons and you are gradually beginning to change your selections and tactics as has been taught to you. The changes could have been made hastier and I note that there are still areas where ya need to develop further although I can appreciate that you want to do things slowly so that it is not obvious that you havent thought up the changes yerself.

I have to say that yer wont fer young boys is encourging and ya have developed the likes of Duff and Vigurs - but watch that ya dont turn young Wood into another Rory.

Ya have evidently realised that Ryan Esson is the first choice custodian and has probably earned you a few points and reprieves in the last few weeks. Let us hope that your pig headed protection and blindness to the faults of Mikey Fraser does not continue with some of your other evidently favourite boys.

Ya are beginning to learn that 4-4-2 = Home and 4-5-1 = Away :thumb04: :018:

One can forgive ya fer sticking to the legend Rosscoe but remember the lesson about how to adapt when a legend is suspended.

Unfortunately ya do not have appeared to realise (yet) that yer wee mate Proctor is not - and never will be - a feckin central defender and yer compassion and adherence to the Canadian moose at left back is one of yer major red marks. :015:

Ya did well to play and perservere with wee Jamie Duff but your recent trend of ignoring him again brings your mrks down. :D

Ya finally have taken on board that yer midfield five should be Cowie; Black; Duncan; Vigurs and Imrie but you inanely continue to play the wide men constantly on their wrong foot instead of interchanging them. :P ;)

Your biggest fault is your favouring of Gary Wood - It is quite evident that Rooney should be the lone striker choice up front - how can ya drop Wood, play Rooney and Barrowman at home, play Rooney fer 90 minutes and then - the next game - drop the two and play Wood. In this instance - get a feckin grip man.

Look at yer bench choices more carefully - look at Bazza fer the last half hour more often - play McBain where he is most effective at left back.

So I will give you a C/D but you could be a B if ya listen to ma wisdom - that is, of course, that you are not deliberately trying to **** aff Black, Cowie and Rooney and you are considering treating Wilson in the same shameful manner that you treated Wyness. :021:

Remember - Old Tulloch boy is looking at yer contract - ya may be out on yer erse soon anyway.

So stop being a :rotflmao: and be more of a :D or :D and

    Ya

IHE, I couldn/t have put it better myself, loved it, all of it.

  10. Just seen the highlights. Barrowman was clearly onside when he 'scored'.....which, had it been given, would've spared us the nailbiting end!

Good thread going on KillieKickback regarding Blackies booking.......seems he was very unfairly treated for having a bit of banter with the home fans?

cant find it, but then not great on this machine, can you put the web sight on here so I can get a look

  11. whats wrong, did wee Blackie not get many votes.

I take it you mean Setanta and not STV (grampian)

Either way I don't know. These ratings are based on peoples opinions and will differ. They probably have someone at the game to make the ratings and give them a wee report I guess.

? why wee Blackie, he was taken off, so didnt play 90mins so deserves less points, though taking him off was a bad idea, Killi scored after that, it opened the game up for them, but that is another thread, no its not setanta it is STV, Esson and Vigurs were by far 2 of the best but this didnt meet with what was on TV, does this answer your comments.

  12. I don't understand the question. And why would you want to know?

after the game the players are given a rating or score out of 10 by someone, what I am asking is who gives the scores to the S.T.V. to put on the screen, is it STV themselves or is it one of our management, I am asking because the scoring on tv and the scoring in the papers etc are to say vastly contrary is putting it mildly.

  13. Dropping Tokely after 2 of his best performances of the season, why?

Are you serious, and I quote "2 of his best performances", is that all that is required of the players, never mind the other dozen or so where he was posted missing, listen to yourself, I cant believe i am even answering this, what I will give you is Why NOT play him ? we are continuing to do what we always do, NOTHING, and going with what we have, because we dont look for anything better, Finances, Whatever, Bronson, I dont believe I have ever answered one of your quotes, but because tempers are flaring at the moment and mine included I think we should just agree to disagree, for me 2 good games isnt enough, for you that maybee the case, but not for me.

  14. You actually appear to be agreeing with me Gillian - Blackie would be a great holding player in a better team - and will probably get there in the future - but he is THE only real playmaker at the club at the moment - Vigurs has the potential to take over but aint ready YET.

Duncan struggles when he hasnt got Black or Cowie to pass the easy ball to - otherwise I still think that he is one of the best holding players in the SPL and is so reliable - but he is put into the play maker role and fails miserably.

I feel that Proctor should be put into the mifield mix more regularly and Vigurs perservered with - Cowie - Proctor - Black - Vigurs - Sutherland (Zander would drop out at home) - that would be my "away" dream team - and save us a lot of spondoolachs. Duncan would be a squad player and would possibly accept that.

Smack a mobile forward in front of that 5 and ???

IME okay I agree in most, but, Blackie is the BEST playmaker we have, as he reads the game, Vigurs has the potential to be a Great player, but reading the game is something that is in them, I dont believe this comes with experience, and im not sure Vigurs has this ability, I hope he has because with a football brain and good skill as we see in Blackie he (Vigurs) could become even greater. Duncan struggles in the playmaker role, so why does Brew insist in playing him in this role, it beggars belief, but do me a favour, watch the passing between or from Duncan to Black, he WONT pass to him, However, as Brew, Malky and the team will have read this this morning, they will change it today. Proctor I believe should be playing Right Back, drop Tokety, one game in around 15 dosnt do it for me. My midfield would be Wilson, Cowie, Black, Vigurs and Imrie, put a forward in front of that.??????? What about Liam Buchanan, I know I keep on about him, but he is almost back to his best, scoring goals, we had him up when CC was in charge, IME we are continuing to discuss this and come January it wont make a difference, we will have to take Black out of the equasion as he wont be here, we have offered him nothing, so what would be your line up then,

  15. Duncan is a "must" away from home - but behind Black and Vigurs. Black could well be the holding and ball player at home in the future - but Vigurs aint ready yet.

IHE I dont often disagree with you but Duncan is good at breaking up play, HOWEVER he then gives the feckin ball back to the opposition. so what is the worst of two evils, Play or Benched? Best midfield Duo for me is (at present) Duncan and Black though Duncan wont even pass to Blackie, (cant believe im saying this)but what I do agree with is in the future Blackie and Vigurs, he is not a seasoned player yet, but this will come, he needs more experience, unfortunatly the only way to get this is by playing, catch 22, we dont have the luxury of beeing that far up the table we can put our inexperienced players in and out at will.

  16. Someones not doing their job

Doesn't Bennet over see contract negotiations?

It is my belief that this is a large part of his remit, he hasnt got a clue, i am also led to believe CB has asked Black if they have spoken to him or his agent, to which he has replied, NO, so what does this tell us, I cant believe this is happening, Blackie, Cowie etc will be away at Xmas or at least they will be committed to other clubs by January, due to the fact that they feel demoralised, angry, frustrated, p***** off, to the extent if i'm not wanted i'll go elsewhere, they need to look out for their families etc, many of the quotes I believe are spot on this should have been tied up long ago, or money made from them moving, personality clashes or not, the boys are doing their bit on the park what is Bennet doing, sweet F A, i too have said Brew needs to go, but it goes deeper than that, the rest have to go first, then maybe Brew would improve. Once again ICT will suffer because of the idiots at the top of the tree.

  17. Esson

    Proctor-Duff-Munro-Hastings-

    Wilson-Cowie-Black-Vigurs-Imrie-

    Rooney-

Duncan could do with a rest, until he figures out what game he is playing, I believe he thinks he is playing basketball, the amount of times he steps back, and raises his arms and the opposition just brushes him aside, Brew wants to tell him it is a contact sport, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TACKLE. Tokley as I said previosly deserves a LONG rest,

  18. Duff and Munro look to be a good pairing, Duff to me is the all round player, both defensively and football wise. Munro could learn from Duff in the footballing sence, because I have to say it becomes tedious watching him launch the ball with no direction, and lets face it this is week in week out (good defender). Tokleys inconcistency, requires him to receive a well deserved (long) rest. Proctor, could and should be filling this gap.

  19. Maybe, just maybe, if Brew was to choose two strikers, and stick with them, they would gel as a partnership and succed in the last third. As it is he chops and changes so much each game. I notice today it was the turn of Dougie and Garry up front. Do they look like a partnership?

    We played a 4-5-1 not a 4-4-2

I did notice that Imrie pushed further up in the middle when not running down the wing. He was, as I could see, the support striker for Wood

I have kept a wee eye on that striker Liam Buchanan, coming back from injury and scoring again, could do an excellent job for us, and blackie could help out here as they are pals, trained and played for blackies dad when they were youngsters, now there is a thought Blackies dad?, let me find out more and ill get back.

  20. Esson

    Proctor--Duff--Munro--McBain

    Blackie

    Wilson--Cowie-Viguars--Imrie

    Rooney

Munro surounded with football players with a bit off luck he will use them, and not his usual (one wood with length

    and no direction) Left Foot!!!!!!

    Subs:-Barrowman,Wood,Hastings,Zander,Fraser,Duncan and any other PERSON!!

  21. The latest P&J online article

Fraser and Proctor search for redemption at Easter Road

It starts off saying that Fraser & Proctor will keep there places for Saturday's game before then going on to quote Brewster saying he hasn't decided whether he is going to rest Fraser yet ot not!! Very odd.

Seems the reporter is saying one thing, but the actual quotes from Brewster say something else ..... journalistic license at its most blatant ..... or maybe reporter making conclusions about off the record comments perhaps?

    Esson

    Tokely Duff Munro McBain

    Cowie Black Duncan Vigurs Imrie

    Rooney

Subs: Fraser, Djebi-Zadi, Hastings, Wilson, Zander, Wood, Barrowman

  22. Must have been Ross, his dad,his mum, brother, uncle, auntie and his girlfriend eh?

Anyway it does not mention how many people actually voted.

People say "There is such a thing as blind loyalty", before today it often confused me, the realisation has hit me today, this is it,

Cant believe I am answering this!

  23. who won player of the month for october?

cant tell you yet, remember that polling doesnt close until 7 days after the match, which would have been yesterday, and you need to give Don a few days to calculate the scores.

thanks for that, what about the flybee result
