  1. Maybe only for a couple of dozen hours. So far, St Mirren have shifted fewer tickets than we have. That is embarrassing for St Mirren when it is close enough for them to get to.Why is there such an apathy towards this cup these days do you think,is it because they have taken away the european spot or do people just not have enough money to go? i think years back the earlier rounds were included in a season ticket I know it has been devalued in England for a long time but in Scotland it has been the chance for many clubs to actually win a bit of silverware. maybe it just needs a revamp to get the fans excited again, think its sad that one of our national competitions is treated this way
  2. There are no away fans at a semi-final, it's on neutral territory... I wouldn't really class Hearts fans as away fans when it's in their Home city
  3. Will this be the lowest ever amount of away fans at the semi-final of a national competition?
  4. Never have i seen a man more dislocated from reality than what McGhee was when in charge of Aberdeen. He Thought he was doing a good job and couldnt see the obvious. Im not liking this appt Egotastical maniac the man is,lied about Aberdeen fans spitting on him, played players out of position and tried to bully kids Horrible man that i think the players may not take kindly to
  5. I'd say the average home support is around the 2700-2800 mark this season.boosted by a few hundred for some games and lowered by a few hundred for others Crowds boosted greatly for Celtic,Aberdeen and County The average is probably a wee bit more than that....but even at the levels you suggest, 2000 doesn't outnumber 2700 and that is the point I was making. I hope Aberdeen do bring 2000 to 2500...all money in our pockets. Not sure if i am right but certainly looked like Aberdeen had the bigger support at the September game, was there not 2500 odd away fans at that one? As for this one there will be at least 2000 from what i'm led to believe, although the weather might put some off travelling
  6. So it's a bit like Uncle Roy's calculator. Except they have two voices each instead of eyes..... Didn't Aberdeen take about 2,500 to the game in September?

  8. Have you left him a message to let him know your feelings? I'd imagine he is quiet this season because he is busy following his "team" home and away......i'm sure you are the same of course Left him a message, err... why? Doesn't really figure that much in my life to FB stalk some full of seeth, refusnik Sevconian. As you say, enjoying life as an ICT supporter to worry about that pish. You appear to have a real anger towards the person in question and have called him a gimp on here.Thought you may have preffered to leave him a private message rather than on a board he doesn't go on. It's all very well slagging the guy but he does support his teams.think he has missed one game all season, can you say the same? i know i can't Whatever are you on about? One comment and it's 'real anger' From his posts on FB about ICT he comes across as a gimp to me, simple, I've responded to him on the Courier FB page (in status' about ICT games so he was clearly on the troll to which admittedly I bit) at the time, he's slagged me for supporting ICT, I've slagged him for his love of a dying team and refusnik, anti-ICT seeth mentality. I'm sure he thinks I'm a gimp too. Big deal. I'm not obsessed with him like you seemingly are so I have no idea as to his forum habits for game attendance. Are you suggesting that every time someone has an opinion about someone else they should try to contact them personally to discuss the issues between them? Also what's his game attendance got to do with anything, going to more Sevco games makes him a good bloke? Strange judging by his hatred toward ICT he didn't go to ICT games after the merger but according to you went to The Rangers games after they became a new club. Anyway I don't go to games, too much hassle like. Not obsessed with anyone.Just thought when you were putting peoples names on a public forum and slagging them of it would be better to pm them. I would have thought one with a university background like yourself, would be above such a level

  10. What happens if someone in row 11 wants to sit?
  11. Typical Caley...Always Cheating!!

  13. Remind me of your whereabouts pre-merger? Remind me when you started taking an interest in Inverness football? Remind me of your birthplace? Another ICT incomer lays down the law. Why am I not surprised? Dougal How can I remind you when I haven't told you before? But for your information the answer to your questions are: Remind me of your whereabouts pre-merger? Inverness Remind me when you started taking an interest in Inverness football? 1975 Remind me of your birthplace? England I know I've only been in Inverness for 37 years so I would be really grateful if you would advise me how much longer I need to be resident here to be able to have a valid opinion on the subject? Fair enough Doofersdad I can only apologise for singling you out without knowing your background I'll be first to admit if the answers you gave are correct then you are probably more qualified than myself to voice your opinion considering I wasn't in Inverness during the murder( sorry merger) although I was born in Raigmore and lived in the Sneck before and after/now Anyway I think it's time I took a break from CTO as it's not doing my high blood pressure any good especially when there's threads like this one on the go Sorry again Dougal Never apologise man,it's the first sign of giving in and accepting the wrongs!! It's a message board everyone has their view, some agree some don't that's what makes them good or bad. You won't see Charles Bannerman apologising  i notice he still hasn't answered the questions asked obviously a bit too controversial :amazed:
  14. errrmmm maybe because he is on a discussion titled merger talk?
  15. It would seem he was also a Rangers supporter until they died too... And Wimbledon FC....He really is a bad omen for football clubs that guy
  16. Reef.. I'm afraid that statement simply shows how poorly informed you actually are on these topics and also again highlights your tendency to come up with the first unsubstantiated statement which comes into your head as long as it suits your preconceived point of view. What actually happened was that INE's (not HIE's) preferred stadium site was Stratton Farm on the A96 which they wanted to develop to kick start the Golden Mile. This was one of a short list of four sites from a long list of 13 from Bruce Hare's 1993 feasibility study into stadium sites in Inverness - which is incidentally not at all well endowed with suitable sites. Also among the four was the current East Longman site which was the strong preference of THE CLUB. ICT and INE then had a protracted debate about this during the spring of 1994 and the CLUB's will eventually prevailed. So Inverness Caledonian Thistle's stadium is where it is because that is where Inverness Caledonian Thistle and not INE wanted it! It is also reasonable to mention that the possibility of a marina first arose away back in 1995 - over four years before David Sutherland had anything to do with ICT - in an interview I did with Councillor Clive Goodman, Chairman of the Harbour Trust, about the possibility of the stadium road linking through to the Harbour which he said could vastly increase the value of the area, which indeed it has. The Common Good Fund's £900,000 stadium grant has been refunded many times over by that alone. I wasn't referring to Mr Sutherland having anything to do with ICT,i was referring to Mr Sutherland owning the marina land which we saw a grand plan for over 17 years ago and we have...... Bit like his housing estates with no amenities to be fair. Charles you are pretty good at bluster and gloss yourself my friend.Still no reply as to what way the players were told to vote? Surely as the man who was on scene and who has written a book about it must know about this? Also you said that you listened to the whole of the merger tapes in the holidays but didn't hear yourself say that Peter Donald was "accosted by hooligans" when in fact it was a peaceful handing over of a petition? did you get it wrong? or did you mis-report for some other agenda? What are your thoughts on your reporting at the time after listening to the tapes? Did you take an unbiased view or were you pro-merger and anyone against it was a rabble-rouser? that's not a sly dig or anything btw just interested as to how it sounds nearly 20yrs on,would be a very interesting listen i'm sure.
  17. I think most fans prfer results on the pitch to where they are sitting match day experience etc, will it still be the same in 10yrs?
  18. not sure how you would look at it,before ICT the area around the "dump" was just that, some forthright people in the Highalnds and Islands Enterprise had a vision which included ICT in a place where nobody wanted them!! Some members of the HIE got rich and regaled about how they brought scottish league football to inverness....as for everything else down the "marina" area well that's only come in the last few years, long after HIE ceased to exist and Mr Sutherland got a grip to make yet another beautiful landscape on the Inverness horizon. The biggest council housing estate in the western world is how i would describe Inverness, all created by our once director Mr Sutherland,.does his bit for the community and charity(in a tim nice but dim way) all round good guy who doesn't ever think about his bank balance before the city
  19. But you've got to look at catchment area rather than the population of the place the stadium is located. Population within 20 miles of us and them can't be massively different. I'd tend to agree with you on this one,the population difference is probably in the few thousand, the question is who has done the better job? For me Ross County win hands down and i know some will say pre-merger fan etc etc but i think i am justified with my comment.Ross County have tried to go about things in the right way, integratated the local community, set up a ground in the heart of the support not 2 miles walk away, pubs all around. Community coaches an indoor facility on your doorstep and pubs a footstep from the ground...hmmmm for me this is the model that ICT should have achieved by now but instead it's the Dingwall tinkers who look far superior
  20. I'm sure you made your feelings known to the "hard-nuts" at the time of course. A debate on the merger and now on to the Casuals.....been a great afternoon and not even the evening rush yet
  21. Those guys were mental, their colour matching was second to none. imagesCA63O1VE.jpg Those bloody calling cards get everywhere!!
  22. Sensationalist journalism engineered by some cunning Inverness lads do tell us what else you know about these "hard nuts"?
  23. Oh ffs your really tripping now!! My hate for those furry boots C*&ts will never Stop!!! Just wish they would hurry up and get promoted before i'm too old.....
  24. Seriously?? must have passed me by that post. That is quite frankly shocking.derby rivals, closest team to you etc and the majority wouldn't mind merging??....Modern Football and it's fans i really do despair
  25. They had an awful lot of friends they didn't know that well.... It was a very smart move and plenty were outraged about it. I could be wrong but i think the rebels were banned from telford street at the time and therefore not allowed to buy season ticket books.I will stand corrected on this if it is wrong as i said my memory is fading. There are others out there a lot more qualified than me to discuss the subject,i'm just trying to point out it wasn't all a bed of roses and the facts remain a lot of underhand strokes were pulled.I think the same aims could have been achieved and everybody united if they just took a couple of simple points on board instead of rail roading everybody to do it as HIE ETC WANTED
