  1. total shambles and what gets me is the quote about russell duncan:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t..._ct/7303922.stm

Wyness was happy to sign, Russell was thinking about other clubs, and demandin more. But when he says duncan hasnt let his performances drop during negotiations???? what games are you watchin mr brewster?

wyness wont take it further i dont think, he will get another spl club i think no bother, i think his quotes suggest he is destined to move now no matter what.

i hope anyone going to kilmarnock tomorrow who is angry will make their feelings known.

  2. I have heard that our ex-player and ex-youth team coach (i think he left in november) is going back to playing in the 1st division!! Clyde have made him an offer and he could be ready for Saturday's game against Stirling.

This time last season he was making sub appearances for us!! Remember

  3. So then Mr Brewster, will it be a 4-4-2, or a 4-2-3-1, or a 4-5-1, or a 4-3-3 or something else? Whatever it is, after last week the fans will be sure he can pick the right formation again and lead Caley Thistle to victory. I am sure he is glad to have Malky back as his no.2, and it will be interesting to see how the players respond to this.

With Rankin and Proctor both producing good performances last week, they will both be in contention this week I am sure. And with Wyness a doubt, will he stick with the lone striker, and will it be Niculae? With a good record against Hibernian, ICT will be aiming to keep it going.

    DETAILS

    Inverness CT v Hibernian

    Tulloch Caledonian Stadium

    Saturday 8th December @ 3pm

    SPL

    Referee: Kenny Clark

Others: George Drummond, Gary Cheyne (Assistants), Mike Tumilty (4th official).

    FIXTURES

    Saturday 8th December:

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock

    Celtic v St Mirren

    Falkirk v Dundee Utd

    Hearts v Motherwell

    Inverness CT v Hibernian

    Sunday 9th December:

Gretna P-P Rangers (postponed due to Rangers European tie midweek)

    SPL RESULTS

    Saturday 1st December:

Dundee Utd 0-1 Inverness CT (Black wonder strike)

    Hearts (Velicka) 1-1 Celtic (McDonald)

Motherwell (Clarkson 2, Porter) 3-0 Gretna

    Rangers (Darcheville, Whittaker) 2-0 Kilmarnock

St Mirren (Mehmet) 1-5 Falkirk (Moutinho 2, Thomson, Barrett, Finnigan)

    Sunday 2nd December:

Aberdeen (Miller, Clark, Young) 3-1 Hibernian (Fletcher)

If anyone managed to predict the 6 score lines from last week, then they have something special about them. Going by the score lines from the 1st weekend, December is going to be an unpredictable month.

Hearts and Celtic was a tie that could have gone either way so a draw was probably the predicted result and so it proved to be. Elsewhere on Saturday, an inspired Inverness CT performance brushed aside the unbeaten home record of Dundee Utd thanks to a superb Ian Black strike. Brewster and Proctor played their first game against their old club, and showed Darren Dods that ICT are not to be messed with. Motherwell recorded a likely victory over Gretna, with a double from Clarkson and one from Porter. Rangers also got a win their fans expected, beating Kilmarnock 2-0. St Mirren and Falkirk was always going to be a close one to call with both teams near the bottom of the table. However Falkirk produced an awesome display to easily dispose of a wasteful St Mirren 5-1. With Dargo still not ready to play his first game for his new club, St Mirren could do with him now as they are starting to struggle. On Sunday, Aberdeen got a victory to lift the confidence after the defeat to Athletico Madrid. They beat Hibs 3-1, and it was evident that Hibernian missed captain Rob Jones who was injured.

So did anyone expect a Caley Thistle victory, Falkirk to score 5 or Aberdeen to bounce back from Europe. If you did, please tell me the Lottery numbers for Saturday!!

    PAST MEETINGS

The teams have played a total of 10 times (10 League, 0 Cup) with 22 goals (14 Inverness CT, 8 Hibernian) between them.

Inverness CT: 5 wins (5 League, 0 Cup)

    Hibernian: 4 wins (3 League, 0 Cup)

    A GAME TO REMEMBER

For this weeks game to remember we take you back to one of the biggest wins in this fixture. It took place at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in the SPL on the 02/03/2005. This was Inverness? only second game in Inverness in the SPL after ground sharing with Aberdeen for the first half of the season. Inverness out played Hibs for the whole game and deserved their 3-0 victory. Goals came from Juanjo, Brewster and Wilson. The attendance was 4443.

    The teams were as follows:

INVERNESS CT: Brown, Tokely, Munro, Dods, Golabek, Wilson, Hart, Duncan, McBain, Brewster, Juanjo.

Subs- Proctor (for Hart), Bayne (for Brewster), Fatai (for Juanjo), Fraser, McCaffrey, Hastings, Prunty.

HIBERNIAN: Simon Brown, Whittaker, Caldwell, Smith, Murphy, Orman, Antonio Murray, Ian Murray, Scott Brown, O?Connor, Riordan.

Subs- Shiels (for Orman), McDonald (for A.Murray), Sproule (for I.Murray), Brown, McCluskey, Morrow, Konte.

The referee was John Underhill and there were three bookings on the day all for Hibernian: Antonio Murray, Murphy and Ian Murray. Seven of the Inverness players who started the match still play for the club (including Brewster who has returned).

    FACTS BETWEEN THE TEAMS

? All League meetings between the teams have taken place in the SPL. There have been no cup ties between the teams.

? Inverness have won five out of the last eight meetings. In the five wins, Hibernian have only scored once.

? Barry Wilson is the top scorer in this fixture with 5 goals.

? In Craig Brewster?s first spell at the club, his opening game was away to Hibernian. Now in his second spell in managing the club, his first league game was away to Hibernian. This was the last fixture where Hibs won 1-0, however, Brewster will be out to prove he can get his tactics right again.

? Inverness CT are one of Hibernian?s bogey team!!

    TOP SCORERS

    5 goals: Barry Wilson (ICT)

3 goals: Derek Riordan (Hibs), Fletcher (Hibs),

2 goals: Juanjo (ICT), Dargo (ICT)

1 goal: Brewster (ICT), Proctor (ICT), Wyness (ICT), Dods (ICT),

Beuzilin (Hibs), Killen (Hibs), McBain (ICT)

    PLAYERS TO WATCH

Marius Niculae (Inverness CT): How many more weeks will we be saying, ?its ok, he will score for us this weekend?! Had that penalty gone in at Easter Road on the 1st of September, things could have been so different. With a huge amount of bad luck, Marius is still without a league goal, but is playing some good football according to some fans. He played as a lone-striker last week against Dundee Utd, but will it be the same this week?

John Rankin (Inverness CT): Its funny what can happen in a week. This time last week Rankin was already saying he would be interested in a move to St Mirren if he had to leave to get 1st team football. However, Brewster gave him his first start of the season last weekend and it paid off as he played well. He may well feature tomorrow, depending on the formation, but one things for sure, there is now a possibility of our most expensive player staying at the club.

    INJURIES

Dennis Wyness is a doubt and Ross Tokely is suspended for one more game.

    FUTURE FIXTURES

Saturday 12th January 2008 @ Easter Road (Scottish Cup)

    Saturday 23rd February 2008 @ Easter Road

  4. Donald was a very well respected man throughout the team, the players definitely thought he was a great influence, from what i know.

i dont think brew and park did see eye to eye all the time, so this was possibly goin to happen. however, park under robbo and christie was a ict legend and did so much behind the scenes and during match days. the club have lost a very good coach here, one that could come back and hurt us when his new team (whoever it may be) plays against us in future.

want to thank donald for everything he has done, fantastic servant as well!! :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:

good luck wherever you go, and something tells me management mite tempt him, st johnstone anyone?? probably not, just me!!

  5. Yep, i deliberately did these mistakes to see if someone would notice :rolleyes02: :rolleyes02: :rolleyes02: :rolleyes02:

    seriously,

Cheers Alex for the point, its just not my week, too many mistakes!! Hopefully next weeks will be better as i will need to go back to basics! :001: :001: :001:

  6. 1. sorry i just had to mention dargo, but the player to watch is actually billy mehmet!!

    2. for a second i still thought christie was the manager!!  :029: :029: :029: oops!! of course i meant to say two inverness players still play for the club and one is now the lottery manager.

  7. Inverness CT v St Mirren

    Saturday 24th November @ 3pm

    Tulloch Caledonian Stadium

    SPL

    Referee: Crawford Allan

Others: Gordon Middleton, Steve Pullar (Assistants), Steve Mckendrick (4th official)

    FIXTURES

    Saturday 24th November:

    Falkirk v Rangers (Setanta, 12:30pm)

    Celtic v Aberdeen

    Hibernian v Dundee Utd

    Inverness CT v St Mirren

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell

    Sunday 25th November:

    Gretna v Hearts (Setanta, 2pm)

    SPL SO FAR

After 12 games, it is of course the 2 old firm teams that are setting the early pace, but no-one has told Dundee Utd or Hibernian yet. Both teams (Utd and Hibs) are on the 25pt mark with Rangers, with Rangers ahead due to goal difference. Even though Rangers beat Celtic in the only old firm game so far this season, Celtic have 28pts and are in pole position.

There is a 5 point gap to a surprisingly rejuvenated Motherwell, who have progressed massively since last season.  Mark McGhee has got his team to an unexpected 5th place and they will do really well if they can stay there into 2008. Hearts and Aberdeen have both had ok starts to the season, with 18pts a piece, but both know there is room for improvements.

Kilmarnock have 16pts and St Mirren without star man Dargo who has yet to play a game have 14 pts and will be happy. Falkirk have 12 pts in 10th place and Inverness CT have 10pts in 11th. Inverness have yet to produce a run of results but I am sure we are due a run of victories sooner rather than later. If Inverness are to climb the league however, they must give away less penalties and tighten the defence. But thankfully for the Highlanders, Gretna are in the SPL and have a mere 4pts, but I have a feeling eventually Gretna will get a wee run going at some point. However so far this season, Gretna only look like going back to the 1st division.

So, lets hope the SPL can add more thrills and spills over the coming weeks before we get our appetite ready for turkeys at Christmas. (sorry, had to mention xmas!!)

    PAST MEETINGS

The teams have played a total of 25 times (11 League, 4 Cup) with 69 goals (49 Inverness CT, 21 St Mirren) between them.

Inverness CT: 14 wins (9 League, 4 Cup)

    Draws: 6 (6 League, 0 Cup)

St Mirren: 5 wins (5 League, 0 Cup)

    A GAME TO REMEMBER

For this weeks game to remember we take you back to the first ever match between the teams. It took place on the 10th of August 1999 in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Inverness CT won the match 1-0 thanks to an 88th minute Mike Teasdale goal. The attendance on the day was 1334.

    The teams were as follows:

INVERNESS CT: Fridge, Mann, Tokely, Hastings, Golabek, Teasdale, Christie, McCulloch, Sheerin, Stewart, McLean. Subs- Robson, Shearer, Glancy.

ST MIRREN: Roy, McLaughlin, Turner, Baltacha, Nicolson, Murray, Drew, Kerr, McGarry, Brown, Yardley. Subs- Mendes, Lavety, Ross.

The referee was Garry Mitchell and there were no bookings on the day. Two Inverness players still play for the club and there is one who is now the manager of the club.

    FACTS BETWEEN THE TEAMS

? All League meetings between the teams have taken place in the First Division so far apart from three.

? Inverness CT have won all cup meetings between the sides.

? Inverness CT?s Paul Ritchie is the top scorer in the fixture with 8 goals. Next is Dennis Wyness with 7.

? St Mirren?s top scorer in the fixture is Yardley with 3.

? The biggest win in the fixture was when Inverness CT won 5-0 on 6/5/2000. McCulloch got 2, with Xausa, Wilson and Bavidge all getting one goal.

? Inverness CT were unbeaten in 9 games against St Mirren at Love Street until the earlier fixture this season. St Mirren beat Inverness 2-1 with Don Cowie scoring his first ever goal for Inverness CT.

? This fixture averages 2.76 goals a game.

    PLAYERS TO WATCH

Marius Niculae (Inverness CT): The Romanian internationalist made his long awaited debut for the club back in August. He is looking to get back into the Romanian squad for Euro 2008 and to do that, he will need to start banging in the league goals for the Highlanders first and there will be no better way to start than helping Caley Thistle get a much needed victory this weekend. With Bayne suspended, he is bound to start, and surely this time, the goal will come.

Craig Dargo (St Mirren): Craig left us during the summer and joint the Paisley buddies in July. He is very prone to injuries but during his spell in the highlands he was very lucky and only had one injury that lasted more than a month. However he chose to leave us and what happens, he has now been injured for 3 months, and is not expected to return until Christmas or even the New Year. I do feel sorry for Craig as he was great for us, but as long as he is on the sidelines we have a better chance of getting 3pts on Saturday. I?m sure he will be there on Saturday watching.
