My son has suffered almost exactly the same injury playing rugby out in Dubai just over 2 weeks ago. He has done loads of research already and is unlikely to get the same specialist treatment as Chris, but he has set his mind on playing again at the start of next season out there. He surprised me when he told me how common an injury it is in rugby and how many internationals play again after damaging ACL and MCL. It is a serious injury, but actually very common, probably more so with skiers. Best wishes for your recovery Chris and look forward to seeing you playing again next season, when you will have "thunder thighs" from all that gym work building them up to compensate.
