He is now a rather large taxi driver in Aberdeen. Always a legend here though.

Indeed a class player and remember that tv goal photo - now that should be an emoji. What we could achieve with a player like him today. Damn pity  if his association with football has ended unless of course he enjoys driving and chatting to strangers.

Aye Scotty - that is the one indeed :-)

  3. Welcome on board cableguy.

So this is what young Danny has been up to. Ah well at least we may get our preferred centre back partnership back.

Every cloud has a silver lining and all that....

  4. We seem to have quite a few of these associated with current players....you are absolutely right they appear to be as useful as an endowment mortgage....

LVG keeps saying he has one year left before he retires and he's never won the Scottish Cup

Just been revealed that he has got a £400K bonus for winning the FA Cup and a £5m pay-off as part of the severance package.  Maybe instead he would like to buy our club

  6. We can all find photos that show unsavoury incidents following yesterday's match. At the end of the day it was stupidity by both sets of fans and both sets of players and the officials were at risk due to their actions.

Hopefully both clubs will be fined and restrictions imposed on their first home games of next season. Unfortunately the mayhem also continued following the match with a number of other incidents now appearing in the press.

And worst of all these are the pictures of Scottish football that are now being shown around the world instead of write-ups on a really good game of football that had plenty of action and five goals.

  7. After 17 years Scotland have just won their first World Rugby 7s Series tournament at Twickenham this afternoon with a dramatic 27-26 win over South Africa who were playing in their 44th Cup Final.

Following appearances in six Bowl Finals already this season and three victories this was Scotland's first ever appearance in a World Series 7s Cup Final. It has completed a great finish to the Series season and hopefully something to build on.

Considering the Scottish RFU were looking at dropping 7s rugby 12 months ago and Scotland being dropped as a venue from the world series this is quite some achievement.

    Well done Scotland

A different approach to either of the games against a Hibs side on a dreadful run of form and it could well have been us again...

Totally agree - when I look back at last season that event is what I see as the biggest disappointment. With respect to the league I think we did well considering all the factors but the Scottish Cup defeat was hard to take especially in the manner of the capitulation. Sadly it was a great opportunity lost and if it had turned out differently we may not have had the situation we find ourselves in now .

  9. No statement from the club yet about the search for a new manager so maybe there is a strong possibility of an internal appointment in the offing.

As the club stewardship are aware an appointment needs to be made extremely quickly in order to put this incident behind us and allow the new manager to put his plans in place with the limited time available. Whoever it is will need time to get the players he wants to stay signed up and new players identified and brought in to allow them time to gel pre-season. The new league season kicks off on the 6th August and the new League Cup format commences on the 16th July which is only 8 weeks away so a lot to do in a short period.

Unfortunately with the recent events the next two months are going to be a lot more critical now and very busy for all of those involved at the club. Interesting times indeed and let the next chapter begin....

  10. It is Scottish Cup Final day and a year since our day in the sunshine. 12 months on we are now building for the future after an indifferent season.

Today's games feature Hibernian v Rangers and Crystal Palace v Man Utd but hopefully it won't be long until we have another game to plan for at Hampden.

Rangers and Man Utd are the bookies favourites but hopefully both will be good football matches and maybe we will see Crystal Palace lift the FA Cup and be first time winners like ourselves 12 month's ago.
