  1. A loss is out of the question. I don't think a win will have any significance. Let's face it, a double-header against Gretna as our only wins in 2008 isn't going to satisfy anyone. :007:
  2. I just really hope that Marius takes some of the positive high from last night back to ICT. For one of our own to score in any international (let alone against Russia!) is a real boost. Brew & the backroom staff must surely be milking that to motivate the rest of the guys to deliver at the level Marius was performing at last night. It's a great opportunity to break any downward spiral of poor morale in the dressing-room. Use it or lose it.
  3. Hope this doesn't mean he's dropped for Saturday. Aberdire are interested in him because they haven't got a player like Black in their squad. Surely this fact means he'll be really effective when playing against them? Teams like Man U can afford to punish guys by dropping them. Fergie just selects another of his world-class players. But the consequence of falling out with the boss doesn't have to always be that you don't get selected. We just don't have the squad to be able to afford to drop key players because of people throwing toys out of prams. Winning the match must take priority on Saturday.
  4. I agree chris 123. In previous encounters we've often played them off the park home & away and gone down to a flukey goal. No-one expects us to win on Saturday, and they'll be brimming with confidence about the match. It's a bit like the run-up before we've played the old firm - and beaten them. Marius to break their hearts and sink them to the bottom 6! Now's the time & now's the hour! :021:
  5. Great video & still photo - Marius looks a class act, and any player who scores for a team with the pedigree of Romania can do nothing but good for his own self confidence and his reputation in the game. He should still be on a total high when Saturday comes. Let's hope he gets a hat-trick for us in a 3-0 doing of Aberdire! :clapping03:
  6. Since Lloyds took over the old Burger King/Clydesdale at the corner of the High St,Inglis street - do you know who is moving into their old site at the corner of Union Street/Church St? It's been empty for ages. Surely the last thing that part of town needs is another bar!!??! :017:
  7. How will the remainder of the pre-split season continue? For example, on 29th March Gretna should play St Mirren. If Gretna disappear, will St Mirren get the 3 points by default? :024:
  8. The Hilton Chippy consistently has the best chips by a mile. My missus bought a DOSH book and we tried Ramsdens - chips too pale & a wee bit hard, possibly flash fried in oil that was too hot. Sayin that, Ramsdens Scotch Pie was delish! ( I think it's actually a mince pie, diguised as a Scotch Pie) :014:
  9. I've seen massive big, thick books of Commando mags at Borders at the retail park. I was goin to ask the missus to get me a couple for last Xmas, but I thought I was bein a bit immature. Reading this thread - it's a relief to know that I'm not! Do I remember right, wasn't Sven Hassel Danish or somethin, but was serving with the Gerries? What had he done to get sent to a penal battalion?
  10. Pretty Good. This should be picked up by the club with some ??? backing. A master copy on the sound system/lyrics printed on the team lines at games/in the programmes/ getting the guy who did the demo perform pre-match? :025:. (subject to someone checking out copywright etc etc) :025:
  11. If I was a gambling man, I'd put a few quid on Patti going to Hibs.
  12. Is it possible that the Board actually believes all that c**p about Inverness being so remote that no decent established player would even consider the move? Maybe we've never asked them? After all, there are loads of other professionals who jump at the chance of a move north. We shouldn't dismiss it as a possibility.
  13. Watching him on youtube reminds me of the style of John Robertson/Joe Harper from years past. Let's hope he turns out to be as good as them. If he's to be our only signing before midnight, he'll have to be good. We ain't got anyone else! Brew & co have certainly gambled that their only purchase will turn out to be a good one.
  14. I'd have sausage roll & pie-sellers & drink sellers wandering round the ground during the match like they do at baseball matches. Not only would club takings go up, but you would have a half decent chance of getting some food without missing ten minutes of the second-half standing in the queue at the serveries. :014:
  15. The ticketing system on Saturday worked ok. The bus was clearly marked 'Home Fans Only' and you were only allowed on the bus back into town if you had travelled on it to go to the stadium at 2.15. The only slight niggle I had was that there were three pre-teen kids who weren't allowed on the return trip as they must have either walked out or been dropped off. It seemed a shame they couldn't get on. The driver must have been under orders not to exercise any discretion - :029: maybe this will ease over time, and common sense will prevail to everyone's gain.
  16. Is it possible that DP's departure is symptomatic of a Board/Manager looking for someone to blame for poor form on the park? DP would make an obvious fall-guy. The Board couldn't possibly lay the blame at the door of the guy they've newly appointed, could they? And with so many players rumoured to be on the way out, it wouldn't be right to pick out the ones who may be staying put. A shame for Parky. Somtimes you can be in the right place at the wrong time. :rolleyes02:
  17. If the solution doesn't come from Rapsons maybe it's down to CB and the team. Giving the visitors a beating on the park might quieten their fans for the bus ride into town. :003:
  18. In previous seasons I would have totally agreed - a chance to blether to the away fans about the game, the season, and what's going on at their club. However, there's been zero chance to do that so far this season as the bus seems to getting hijacked by the nutter element who are intent on havin a square go and winding up us Caley fans. Even the decent away fans are unable to persuade them to shut the f**k up. If they can't self-police I reckon they should all be barred. There are old men, older women, and guys with young kids that will soon stop using the bus if this continues. Wouldn't blame them. Doing nothing isn't an option.
