  1. That's a very well balanced team!!  Looks like CC read the riot act and has made the changes that were needed, I'm expecting a much better performance today, Tokley and Hastings will hopefully give us a more reliable defence.  Bit surprised Duncan has been dropped but McBain is more than capable of doing  job in the centre or out left :006:

coom on ICT we need a big performance today!!

  2. This is why I didn't think that David Sutherland should have made his dramatic statement about us not selling any player to United - if United or anyone else make offers that match our valuation of course we will sell.

If his statement has made the grocer come in with a higher bid then it was more than worth while to say what he did!!

Good luck to Bambi, cracking player, IMO he could have been a great player for us if he we didn't have so many options for the one position.

  3. Always a good player bit up himself though, he was a yts while Stewarty was at the club so I'm sure Ian knows better than anyone how to get the best out of him!!  It's always good to see players that you used to kick about with do well, so all the best to him and Craig McMillan.

I heard Tony Low has been offered a youth coaching position at ICT so also congrats to him!!

  4. Aaaaaahhh finally some good films are mentioned

    dead.jpg

"Dead Man Shoes"**** is a master class in british film, gritty and raw but so original.  When he attacks the boy wearing his mask and swinging an axe you know he means business.  My favourite point of the film is when the group of 5 or 6 bad guys come rolling up in a banged up old VW beatle with the tunes banging..... quality!!

"City of God" would possibly get ***** from me aswell.  I've always had the opinion that the best films are made by how bad the bad guys are and Lil Zane is pure evil!! So many great characters throughout the film and the way it is shot is beautiful.. absolute cracking film!

if you don't mind your subtitles another few films worth getting out are "Das Experiment", "Run Lola Run" and "La Haine"

"Das Experiment"***** is a german film about an experiment (funnily enough) where a group of volunteers are split in half.  1 half become the guards and the others become the prisoners, there is a power struggle and it all gets messy but probably in my all time top 10.... well worth watching!

"La Haine"***** French film about their version of the ghetto where a self proclaimed hardman comes across a gun and has to figure out how tough he really is..... class!!

"Run Lola Run"**** clever film about the different options the main character has when he gets mixed up with a bad crowd and the only person that can help him is his girlfriend (Lola).  Lola is played by the main female character in "Bourne Identity"(can't remember her name).... again well worth watching

"Old School*****" is on BBC 1 just now, Vince Vaughan, Will Farrell, very funny!!

  5. This is why players aren't keen to sign a new contract and tbh who can blaim them.... If a player is good enough then he deserves to be picked simple as that!!

It seems ridiculous that players are being over looked because the Scotland coaching team is to lazy to travel and watch any of our matches

Black should be a shoe-in for the U21's and verging on the national team IMO

Brown and Dargo also have valid grounds to complain

  6. You will recall the fulmination that spewed out on a previous incarnation of this site when Les Fridge had some poor games whilst carrying an injury.

Les Fridge must have been injured throughout his career at ICT then!!

  7. We are left in a bit of a difficult situation if we allow Dodds to leave in that the amount time prior to the end of the Transfer Window is limted. We do not know if there is anyone available to replace Dodds, or at least anyone of the standard of which we need.

Caff offers an element of cover for the middle and RHS of our defence, however I do not believe that he has the physical presence necessary to play against the taller players and this may leave us exposed. It was notable how much we improved in not conceding goals when Dodds came in two years ago. Caff is still an asset however.

The final factor is that we should not be looking to ensure that D Utd can improve their squad at the expense of ours unless we are adequately compensated. The message coming from the D Utd side is that an offer of £15k has been made and a clause exists in Dodds' contract which sets the fee at around £25k. I would suggest that at this level of fee it is more in our interest to keep hold of Dodds for a year. If he goes in the sulk and we are not able to play him then we are only slightly out of pocket and are ensuring that D Utd are weaker.

I do think that Dodds would remain professional enough in the situation and would continue to perform if required.

I agree with everything you've said apart from the fact that it is Dods not Dodds.... Darren Dods.... Billy Dodds

TBH I'm shocked :010: Dods played with his heart on his sleeve all last season and looked as though he would die for the team... obviously he does not fancy living in Inverness, if a good offer comes along I think we should accept it!

Have county got any decent centre halfs?? :017:

  8. the other muppet/guest was John Colquhoun used to play for Hearts and is now a football agent... I used to work with his daughter and btw out of 2 I'd give her 1 :016:

He did talk a rake of pish though... I think they try to have rubbish guests so they don't make Walker look like anymore of a to55er, bring back Bill Leckie he seemed to be the only guest last year that spoke any sense!!

  9. Right we seem to be going round in circles about who is to blame for Saturdays performance.  I think it would be a good idea to look forward to this weekend and how things will hopefully improve.

    I would go for:

    ----------------Broonie----------------

    Tokely----Dods---Munro--Hastings

    Wilson---Black---Duncan---Rankin

    ----------Dargo----Wyness----------

I thought our midfield and attack were decent in the first match while obviously there were flaws at the back.  "If it ain't broke don't fix it" and considering we had the 4th best defense in the SPL last season that should have been obvious to CC from the start.  If Tokely is still out of form then Caff instead.  I can understand the people preferring Morgan as the natural winger but I think everyone forgets that he is still a young player and always learning while Rankin seems to have a bit more composure.  Also I think CC would be severely scrutinized if he replaced him out wide after he crafted our only goal last Saturday.

I expect a vast improvement in our defense against the dons, I think that Dods and Munro will be looking to show everyone that their defensive laps was a one off.  Last season when we had the shock defeat to Partick and CC inspired the team to beat United 4-2... that's the sort of response we need this week.

  10. don't get me wrong if Golly had 3 or 4 games he might get back his sharpness, and if he was in midfield of upfront then he could be given that time but in defense we can't have any passangers.  If anything it should be CC that this thread about because he was the man that picked the team.  IMO the question isn't why was Golly picked ut why was Hastings dropped

  11. All 3 named gangster films are excellent... snatch probably my favourite another couple for u are

"Love, Honour and Obey"**** and a half

Jude Law, Jonny Lee Miller, Ray Winston, Denise Van Outen and a rake of other British heads.... funny and entertaining, jsut you wait and see what Denise Van Outen can do with a cucumber :010:

    and

    "Gangsta No 1"****

Disturbing but class.. well worth a watch

3 dvd's I go out the other day

    "Adam and Paul"****

Irish film about to heroin adicts... sounds bad I know but trust me such a funny film

    "Junebug"**

Yawn!!  It's got the guy out of the OC and the bad boy from Goal innit but story drags and isn't very interesting. I wouldn't bother

    "Capote"****

excellent film, would be a classic if capote's voice wasn't so annoying.  Basically the plot's about the book "In Cold Blood" which Capote wrote about a farm in america where a family were killed by 2 bad guys.  The film explains how Capote wrote the book and how he bonded with one of the killers.  worth getting out

  12. 5hit happens eh!

It was bad today but it certainly isn't the end of the world, as said previously there is a lot of pluses to come out of todays game.

    Personal performances:

    Brown:

Kicking was a bit off but I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone is suggesting that Fraser should start the next game.  Those with short memories were probably the ones asking why he wasn't picked for the Scotland squad last season... fickle

    Caff:

Last season I watched him at Parkhead and Easter Road play RB and in both games he could have easily been given motm, so he certainly can play in that position but he did look very shakey today.  Didn't do to much wrong but his distribution wasn't up to what we would usually expect from Rossco.

    Dods & Munro:

Didn't look like the brick wall that they usually are, as Caley D said probably due to the amount of covering they were doing for Golly.  Second goal was inexcusable and they seemed to lack concentration at points but I guarantee next week you will see 2 reformed characters.

    Golly:

    well... where to start

What my real question is, what has Hastings done to deserved being dropped? Hastings has had his critics but for me he has always been relatively solid at the back and he was also starting to show more confidence coming forward toward the end of last season.  For me CC's first big mistake of the new season, hopefully this will be rectified next game.  What was he doing for that first goal.... hang your head in shame!!

    Rankin:

I can see what RIG is saying about drifting infield but I think he can definitely do a job for us out wide or in the centerer.  I think he is going to be a big player for us this season.  His first touch is excellent, he looks calm in possession and his final ball is killer.  I like how he is now taking corners for us aswell  shows he doesn't lack confidence.

    Black:

my MOTM, never lacked any effort and for a small guy he was head and shoulders above every player on the park today.  Hope he signs a contract for us because he looks as though he is a real talent... some technique to control his overhead kick and whenever he got the ball at his feet he look so hungry to do something with it.  He didn't deserve to be in the loosing team today.

    Duncan:

meeaaah, I don't see how he could be anyones MOTM.  Don't get me wrong he was alright but he gives the ball away at the wrong times and although he didn't do much wrong today, he didn't do an awful lot right either.  average today IMO.

    Wilson:

Only started to play in the second half but when he did get going he looked sharp.  One of the better players in the team.

    Wyness:

Thought he was alright today, he wasn't getting any service in the first half so in the second he ended up dropping into midfield to pick up the ball.  He wasted a couple of half chances by being too greedy but did put in some effort and never really lost the ball when it was at his feet.  He'll score goals this season I'm sure.

    Dargo:

It's hard to slag a player that scored our only goal but that was all he did.  looked a bit jaded, probably from missing the last 2 preseason matches but when we were needing him to chase loose ends upfront he was 2 busy poaching.  At least he's off the mark so hopefully he can carry on his form from last season.

    Keogh:

headless chicken, put in the effort but never really got to grips of the game

    Bayne:

110 for effort as per usual and caused the defense a lot of hassle but was never going to change the way the game was going.

All in all just a bad day at the office.  CC made some bad decisions with his selection but he did notice it and eventually took Golly off so at least he is seeing what we are.  We looked comfortable at 1-0 up and could have quite easily seen the game out if it wasn't for 2 stupid mistakes.  So not totally disheartened but not very happy.
