  1. I've heard Brian Rice has a good track record of developing youth players. Anyone have any further information? If this is the case, retaining him as an employee would make sense. We need to see youth players coming through the ranks.

Really looking forward to dunfermline  and dundee utd games. Think it could be really enjoyable competition .

Hoping we play the Pars at EEP. The Bridies are always a highlight.

At the same time he has walked away from a very secure job to be on the dole. Did I see him on the pitch at Hampden!

He obviously feels that his record of winning our first cup, and taking us to Europe also on a 3rd place finish will get him a bigger job in the central belt. Cant think where, and if he does get a managers job down there, it will probably be for a team on the down rather than like us a team that was very much on the way up. However, who is to say if Tel and Mo had stayed, would we have achieved 3rd, Europe and the Scottish Cup.

Thank you Yogi, I now have memories that I didn't think I would have.

In fairness, I doubt he could achieved similar after such a successful season. He inherited a fantastic squad and they were lucky to remain - by and large - injury-free. What's the next target? Is it merely to avoid the drop every season? Or to push for Europe and cup success? Does the club have a long term plan in place?

Can we shift this to UK football or somewhere else?

    C'mon, the season is over.

Lots of responses from Motherwell fans on Twitter. I'm right off McCall getting the job now.

  5. Butcher? No way. He burnt his bridges when he sat with the Hibs directors when he was still on our payroll. I reckon we should look to the Icelandic league. Of course, Foran is the obvious choice though. Either way, we need Raven signed up. Best of luck and best wishes to John Hughes. He won the Scottish Cup with us and we shouldn't forget that. Exciting times ahead. Trepidation, and excitement.

  6. McInnes has quite a team around him. I'm sure a bigger club will come in for him and his team will move with him. Sheerin gas enjoyed some success with the U20 side too. Has Robson done his badges?

Does anyone know what happened to that security guy from our last home game? Was any action taken?

As I heard from several sources(including other security staff) that it is not the first time he has kicked off for trivial reasons.

I should note the other security staff tackled a tricky situation rather well.

For anyone wondering why the security guard felt the need to give the young lad in the North Stand hassle, he took issue to the fan wearing a scarf and hood on his head whilst sitting quietly in the stand.(it was a cold day and the young team there where not causing any trouble)  When he refused to remove the scarf the security guard threatened to throw the fan out, at which point I stood up and approached the security staff member pointing out it was cold and the fan was doing nothing wrong.

He then threatened to throw me out of the stadium for defending the young lad, I told him to calm down and the security teams supervisor came over and calmly removed the security staff member from the location he was working and replaced him with another.

I'm not one to call for people to lose jobs or anything, and I am not suggesting that, but I seriously hope he was at least given a proper talking to as I was visibly shaking with anger when he threatened throwing me out for defending a fan and asking him to use his head.

Incidents like this go a long way in explaining our plummeting attendances.

  8. Brown

    Raven, Meekings, Mann, G Shinnie

    Robson, Charlie Christie, Foran, Wilson

    Niculae, Brewster

Subs; Brill, A Shinnie, Sheerin, R Christie, Watkins, Wyness, Munro

    Manager: Pele

Scottish Premiership win easily achievable with this squad.

Another game when you leave the stadium thinking why bother.

The worrying thing is that many are going to stay away next season and not renew tickets.

Sums it up. Didn't bother attending but I watched a bit of the first half on TV then turned over to the Masterchef final. The cooking was better than the football, tbh.
