  1. I was looking at the match programme from yesterday and to my eyes there seem to be an awful lot of people taking a salary out of the club which is now going to be a Championship club. Some serious cutbacks will almost certainly be required if we're to keep our heads above water.

Don't know about bad apples, but Foran would seem to be a prize plum.

Foran has a lot to learn and in any form of management an early lesson is to praise in public and to chastise in private.

  3. My first game for a very long time and what a very disappointing result to say the least. We were quite unlucky with some of the attacks but the squad definitely needs to be strengthened - defence, midfield and up front. Two goals from Don Cowie just rubbed salt in the wound.

The board really need to give Richie some funds to get out into the market and seek some new blood.

  4. Just an excuse for the PC brigade to go just a bit over the top, particularly 5live and David Miliband. Certainly will be interesting to see how Sunderland perform over the next few games given all this extra off-field attention.

  5. Evelix was on Drummond Road on the town side of the road down from the Drummond School. It had a quite fantastic view over the town and a beautifully kept garden. Gilbert Ross had a Rover 3.5 litre car and the numberplate ST 444. What would they be worth today ?

  6. Renzo Serafini - definitely the Locarno at 31 Academy Street.

Dorandos had a confectioners and tobacconists shop at 36 Church Street (down from Fraser's Auction Rooms). Was the man who owned this shop related to Henry who ran Dorando's Cafe at 89 Academy Street ?
