  1. I think technique-wise he is a better keeper than Michael Fraser, he is also more experienced as he has been in the Scotland squad once or twice. I still think Mikey is an excellent keeper though, but i think given that he has made a couple of hashes like Mikolounas goal for Hearts and Connor Sammons for Killie i think Esson deserves a chance.

  2. When he was first at the club his impact as a player was excellent. His goals and overall play were so good for a guy of his age then. But that was 3 years ago and he is even older now...but i think if he played for just an hour that could really infuence the team. Only drawback is that he is rather injury prone.

  3. And so long as we cant even muster 3000 home fans on a saturday afternoon then that striker is never going to appear. But if someone could take Gary Wood aside and give him intense training and a jab to boost his maturity then I'd say 6' 2" and over thirteen stone should be what your looking for.

That is true. I think Wood needs to learn how to put himself about defenders a bit because he is more than capable of doing that. And if he can improve his first touch along with that he will be a much better player.

  4. I agree with what Brew had to say but he should not be complementing a team for scoring into us. He should be angry at his team for conceding another loosing goal.

Also, the reason Motherwells strikers where so good is because they are good enough and experienced enough to play regular SPL football. None of ours are. Rooney and Barrowman yes but they need someone out there with them on the pitch that knows how its done. Wood still has alot of growing to do(mentally) and i think he may turn out ok. Don't get me started on Rory.

Also another reason there forwards "bullied us" is because Porter and Sutton are 6 ft 1 and 6 ft 2 and Sutton is built like an 18 wheeler. Our centre backs are to finely built to deal with strikers like them. I think we also need a striker like them up front to compete with centre-halfs but we don't have that in our squad.

  5. Everyone was pritty average today :rotflmao: , hats of to Rooney for taking his goal so well.

But what was Brew thinking with the subs. Black and Rooney off for McBain and Vigurs...thats pathetic. And it takes him till about 3 minutes before the end to bring on Barrowman. And he left on Wood who had a pritty poor game by SPL standards, and Woods mix up with Rooney before Motherwell equalised, what a joke! Imrie as well...totally different from last week.

Again it was the same story where we build up fairly well in midfield and then when we get to the final 3rd we run out of ideas or don't have the quality to create the chances....set pieces were well wasted again today as well...whereas Motherwell get one promising one and take 3 points with it.

I think we are perhaps lacking some SPL experience up front and on thw wings and thats something i think that needs corrected...i also think Djebi-Zadi should be given a chance as Hastings had yet another poor game.

  6. Says in the P&J today we have dropped all intrest in Atiku. He was pritty poor on trial for Morton apparently. Add him to the lengthy list of no-goes.

  7. I was at the match and i have to say i don't know how Sunderland didn't win. I had a great view of that free-kick and i have to admit it was very amusing as all Fulham fans thought it was going to roll in and they all jeered Richardson ironically. His secind free kick was even better and it took some Sunderland fans a wee while to notice it was disallowed.

Cisse hit the bar as well towards the end...i have to admit Sunderland look alot more organised and experienced now that they have strengthened there squad so sufficently. Only player that looked remotely good for Fulham was Jimmy Bullard but he was given a bit of a rocky reception as locals say he is set to quit Fulham.

  8. Lack of experience up front. Up until this season, none of our regular strikers had played SPL football, apart from Barrowman(2 goaless appearences hardly counts). For those strikers we should've signed an experienced forward to play with them.

We have no consistent winger that has real speed nor gurantees a good cross.

Lack of physical strength and height in defence. Duff is tallest centre half at 6'2 but is quite finely built. We constantly loose goals to big strikers...hence Nish and Billy Mehmet. We also got picked apart by Dundee Utd at set pieces a few weeks ago.

We also have this tendency to lack concentration at the start of a half...and sometimes at the end, game at the weekend and the St Mirren and Hibs game are perfect examples.

Also some of our key players have been inconsistent this season, Cowie, Imrie, Barrowman, Fraser, Hastings....the only really consistent player has been Blacky evidently.

  9. Ok thanks for that.

I just wanted to know out of curiousity. It makes sense i suppose and i know that you never know really what your going to get from the...but when i hear we have a trialist i automatically think that he will leave and apart from Zadi i was right everytime.

  10. Do we pay for these players to come overseas to Inverness? Because if thats the case then we've really wasted alot of money on trialists we haven't signed.

Last year we had the Austrian pair, another Austrian striker and Giany Joinville

And this year we had Juanjo, Kiran Bechan, Dan Wagaluka, Enrique Pla...and most recently Ibrahim Atiku (although we still don't know whats happening with him.)

  11. It's not just this season. McBain has been past it for the last 2 or 3 seasons and what really ticks me off is there are players missing out that could do so much better than him. I really think he should step down a league.

  12. McBain is consistently the least effective player in our team and shouldn't even be playing

Thank you Kencar, someone who knows what he is talking about. McBain is by far the weak link of our starting line-up regardless of what position he plays. He is simply past it. I think he would benefit from dropping down a league at the end of the season.

I've watched the highlights and i have to agree Hastings looked pritty poor but that was why we signed Djebi-Zadi, to provide competition for him. He has never really been challenged for it since taking it from Golabek therefore has never really had to work for it to retain it.

Could be that Hastings struggles to change back and forth from centre-half for Canada to full-back for Caley Thistle...they are 2 very different positions.

  13. Hastings was our worst player yesterday IMO, so would like to see Roy pushed back to left back and Vigurs moved into midfield.

McBain sucks at left-back even as a last ditch replacement. I can't judge wether Hastings was poor yesterday or not but i would certainly rather see what Lionel is capable of first. He is yet to start a game.

  14. George Burley just does not claim the national respect that Alex McLeish nor Walter Smith did.

His ideas are good but his ways of suggesting them and presenting them have proved not so good, Kris Boyd and Lee McCullochs omissions from the team being prime examples and the introduction of a dodgy formation leaving our key player McFadden useless.

He has not got the experience of a high profile manager, a failed play off final with Derby and getting Ipswich Town into the Uefa cup being his main highlights, all be it he resigned from Derby the following season and Ipswich were relegated a season after entering Europe.

Why the S.F.A appointed him is because no one else would take the job. I think the Norway result is now past the "early days" excuse so if he dosen't deliver come next year i think he will be gone unless he goes sooner of his own accord.

  15. Pleased Munro has signed on and hopefully he won't be the last.

Tbh i wouldn't be fussed if Roy didn't get a new deal as i feel there are too many players that can do better than him now in the first team. As loyal a servant as he has been to the team over the years i can't help but say he looks really past it at times when he plays.

p.s i'm on holiday at the minute...whats all this about a ghanian midfielder on trial???

  16. Winters is 33, experience i agree but he is mighty slow although he could make a good super sub. From what i hear though he is very popular in Norway. Defnitely don't want Dargo back, not the kind of striker we need. I noticed that Owen Morrison guy is a free agent. He looked a good player when he played for Dunfermline.

  17. Preferably i would have Stephen McManus because he is at least captain of his club...when has Fletcher ever captained a team???

I think he is a half decent player but he can be very slack at times which is defnitely not good at international level. I hear that Burley is famous though for making strange descisions :rotflmao:

  18. In my view for January we need a tall centre back, im thinking go for McPake again. And we need a fast wide player, also some proper cover for the strikers.
