  1. Maybe Charlie should try playing effectively two teams, one at home and another away.  Its clear that we need to play a different system at home so maybe a bit of squad rotation is required?  We need to be more attack minded at home and going from today 3 up front with Denzil linking between midfield and the strikers seems like the way to go.

  2. Strong rumours from Scumdee is that Brewster has resigned.  Jumping before being pushed???  Rumour going around last week was that he had to beat Aberdeen!

Can't say I'm sorry, the w****r deserves all he gets!!

  3. Fantastic result, well done Rankin great to see him on the score sheet.  Free kicks were his speciality at Ross County so now he's off the mark lets hope he bangs in a few more this season!

Speaking of humble pie got a text from my dad at HT saying, and I quote

" Usual rubbish, CC has no idea "

Think he'll be munching on some as well!!!

    What a day!

  4. I'm so chuffed for him today, he's one of our best players but I don't think he gets the credit he deserves as he doesn't get that many goals.  Wasn't at the game today but saw the goal on setanta, he took the goal well, was very quick to react.  I hope this puts him on a bit of a run now.

  5. Although I'm really happy that its looking likely that Ian will sign the extension, remember Petrov??  Not to put a downer on it but he signed a new 5 (?) year deal in January!

I really hope we get the services of Ian Black for a few more seasons as I think he is a cracking player and can only get better, I'm sure that if he plays well for us he will get noticed by the Scotland manager and hopefully become a regular.

  6. Charlie's talking about him on teletext, says that he's put himself in contention to play against Celtic with how he played last night against Golspie.  Going by the match report he had a stormer.

  7. I think the midfield will be a key area against Celtic, that's where the battles will be won.  I'd like to see us going 4-5-1,

                  Brown

    Tokely  Dods  Munro  Hastings

    Wilson  Black  Duncan  McBain

                    Rankin

                    Dargo

Think Rankin would do well in this position as I think he played there quite a bit for County and was successful, we may even see him get his first goal for ICT.  Really think we need Duncan, someone to link the defence and mdfield is something we've been lacking this season.

  8. Not sure about relegation but I think we're the only club he hasn't scored an og at.  Quite prone to these in the past was Dodsy!  Get him out of the team now, we play Utd on the 16th he may want to change that statistic if we don't let him go!!!

  9. Brown

    Tokely  McCaffery  Munro  Hastings

    Wilson ©  Black    Rankin    Morgan

    Dargo            Bayne

Hastings and Morgan have a good understanding and can be a real threat up the left.

  10. I'm really disappointed about this whole thing, Dods has always been a favourite of mine and last season he was exceptional for us.  This season however my opinion has changed, he hasn't been playing all that great and this is probably down the the issues regarding a move away, however by handing in a transfer request he has admitted that he dones't want to be an ICT player any longer, I can't see how deserves a place in the team now.  It would be a real kick in the teeth to the fringe players if he was to remain in the starting line up on Saturday if he's still around.

I'm in two minds about selling him, one one hand I think it would be good to get the money now but on the other I really wouldn't like giving Brewster what he wants.  My hatre for Brewster is stronger so we should either let Dods play for the reserves for the rest of the season or sell him to someone else.

I'm confident Caff would slot in nicely alongside Munro and there's one of the young guys, can't remember his name, who looks like a decent prospect.  I saw him play against Deveronvale pre season.

  11. I heard something at the St Mirren game that may be the reason as to why he's gone.  I'm not going to start spreading rumours but will say that it had nothing to do with his abilities as a player.

Have to say I am a bit disappointed as I thought he looked good in the pre season game I saw him play in.

With Proctor all but away we really need to make sure there's cover for Rossco.

  12. I have to say that although I'd be happy for the three of them to stay, I wouldn't be too gutted if they left.  We have more than capable cover for all three of them, if the right amount of money is offered then we should take it.  However, going by DS's comments I don't think he'd sell if they offered £10m and I respect him making a stand.  The only thing that would bug me if we did sell is that United and Brewster get what they want.

  13. David Sutherland's statement on the recent comments coming from the Arabs:

In a later statement, Caley Thistle chairman David Sutherland said:"United enquired about our players at the end of last season, made an offer and this was rejected.

"That should have been the end of the matter but what has happened this week is they make a fresh verbal offer and then their manager discloses this to the media saying he will be contacting our club to see what is happening.

"I can tell him what is not happening. Caley Thistle will not be solving any player problems United may have.

"Their chairman made an approach and so did their manager. But it seems that we cannot hold confidential discussions with them.

"We are very disappointed with such conduct.

"If it is meant to unsettle players and put pressure on us to accept, then I can only say that our previous reluctance to sell is now a complete determination.

"For avoidance of all doubt, and to make any future media leaks futile, we will not be doing transfer business with Dundee United in relation to players who are important to our manager's plans. End of story."

  14. I thought he was out of position far too much, kept drifting in to the middle when we were playing 4 at the back.  He was caught out for their first as well.  Granted he wasn't playing in his favoured position but he was making noises about starting there if Rossco isn't fit and I just don't think he did himself any favours with that performance.  I still rate him as a defender and if Dods does go to United I would have no worries about Caff slotting in and doing a good job, he's just not good at right back.
