Women drivers right enuff.
What has that got to do with being a woman?
-
Factual, no. What a load of rubbish. The same thing happened to my dad's car and his wipers did not work. The snow blocked his wipers. So get your facts right.
-
Cars covered in snow in winter............whatever next.
I am sure the car would have had wipers that work. Some folk are too careful and hold up everyone else.
No, I am talking about 5 or 6 inches of heavy snow, not a little snow. There is no way her wipers would have worked without snapping. It is dangerous. Mocking isn't clever.

Now now!
I was looking at this article and I think we should take it on board - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8438871.stm I mean if everyone got together we could clear so much!
-
Is it just me or are there idiots on the road?
It's not you..there are loads of idiots on the road. (Not just in Winter either). Not only do some fail to clear snow off their vehicles but some do not even clear it away from their head/tail lights etc either.
True. Yeah, I have seen loads of cars just covered in snow. I wish there was enough police to stop these numpties!

People who just have no clue on how to drive? Who don't clean their car properly before they leave? I was on the a96 and here was this car trying to pull over the road and all the snow from her roof landed on her windscreen. She would of had to get out of the car on a very busy road to clear it as it was so thick.
Sorry for the rant but as a home carer trying to get about has been impossible and this just makes it worse!
-
I think it is ridiculous to suggest the game should be on. The police have to be at the match, the police are busy with the snow and it would really push them to have the numbers there.
Arguing about tescos etc is also a useless arguement. Organised events are totally different, always have been always will.
-
No wonder, it is awful outside.
I have nearly been hit by a bus loosing control, I have seen one bump, cars left at the side of the road, cars breaking down on the hills near culloden. It took me an hour to get from culloden to drakies earlier (I went past big tesco to avoid hill at smithton). The only reason I am even driving is due to the fact I do home care. Otherwise I wouldn't even be considering it!

In the meantime, buy a decent pair of boots and a snow shovel and keep an eye out for the elderly neighbours. Oh, and clear your bloody windscreen and the 6 inches of snow from the roof of your car before you set off so it doesn't slide off when you brake. That's a real hazard that you can't blame the Council for.
I agree 100% it is really starting to get on my nerves when I see cars out and the driver has only cleared the windows. I just want to get out and shout at them! It makes me so angry!
-
If the snow stays like this I don't think clearing will be much of a help. Is anyone else fed up of the snow?

oh my goodness!

Thanks for the great replies guys!
We have had a look about today and the two we were considering were the CanonEOS450d and the Sony Alpha 380.
We really are just starting out and are really wanting it for great pictures on our trips around Scotland. They are great pics The Fly. I think we would just buy the basics and build it up during the year.

My mate is planning purchasing himself a Digital SLR Camera. Knowing him....he probably did hours of thorough research...and he did come up with one he wants. If i remember, al ask him what it was.
Sounds good, let me know if you remember x

was thinking of upgrading to a nikon d5000 or a canon eos/digital rebel later next year but will narrow the choice down closer to purchase time .... in the meantime, highly recommend this site to help in the choice: http://www.dpreview.com/
Thanks for that link. Do you know of anywhere in the town that I could go and speak to someone. I know we have Jessops, is there any you might know of?

1. Recycle
2. Volunteer
3. Stop wrecking all my dvds because i'm too lazy to sort them

Also, I don't think it's justifiable for the government to tell me, or any other sentient person, what I can and cannot do to my own body. If I want to spend every penny I have on getting wasted beyond belief I should be able to do so, so long as I don't harm anyone else.
Drug taking does not only affect you.

MrsICTFC I've followed the success of the Potugese drug policy with great interest for the last few years I'll have you know , so if your up for sharing your views lets have them .
I would love to know how your interest has lead you to the conclusion that we should do what Portugal does. Your explanation would be valuable first.

To be honest I think they have done a good job. I was working all day on Sunday and I go from house to house in my car. The main roads were ok and they needed to be done several times. It was more beneficial for me to have these main routes clear. I did struggle in the streets but I made it.
I do agree that the pavements need done but the main priority for me are the main routes.

Well if it were me and my husband was looking to buy me something I would appreciate a nice matching underwear set from la senza, a new bottle of my fave perfume and some more of my fave foundation.
What's the budget?
I've never felt comfortable nosieing around in women's underwear shops.... makes me feel sordid and cheap.
:D
Really? It's obvious when someone is buying for his Mrs or a perv! Just go in and ask!!
Does she need a new top/dress or maybe some accessories?

I suppose a good thing to come out of this is that all the money raised from the single will go to charity! :021:
