  1. As at this time Monday morning, the site has not been updated, the Supporters Club bus will leave as usual from the Stadium at 10am, arriving back in Inverness at approx 9pm to 9.30pm traffic permitting. The stop at Perth on the way home is only usually about 20 minutes to 30 minutes max.

  2. The card was out before Samaras had even hit the deck, so no thought whatsoever was given to consulting with his assistants.

People harp on about "The need for a split second decision". Why does it need to be split second? Why can't the referee take a moment to process what he just saw? Why not make it compulsory to consult assistants when considering a red card? Refs are all mic'd up these days, so it's not going to slow the game down any. By the time the ref calls the player to have a word then he could have had his feedback and he can then decide if he's just going to have a word or issue a red/yellow card.

Agree with you CaleyD and not with IHE (that must be a 1st for me, not to agree with IHE - sorry Johndo) but, - after all CaleyD and I were at the game and IHE was only watching courtesy of tv! We were right!!! No red, no yellow. But still no points. The OF win again. When will it ever end. This must be the 1st time I have ever wished that our "dear" neighbours get promoted and be in the same league as us and make the sad central belters travel north twice as many times. See how Kris Commons likes that!? What a wxxxxer.

  3. The Haymarket area of Edinburgh is a nightmare for traffic and pedestrians at the minute. If I were taking a coachload from Sneck I'd take the M90 link from Broxden Perth. M90 to Forth Bridge. A90 then A8000 to M9. Stay on M9 at Newbridge roundabout. Go left onto M8 interchange then take M8 east to Hermiston Gate interchange. Go right at roundabout and onto bypass heading south. Keep to left side lane and exit at Calder road roundabout and go left onto Calder road. Follow road (A71) to Gorgie road. Do NOT stop or slow down going through Sighthill or there wont be no wheels on the bus. Stay on Gorgie road till just before the road goes under the railway bridge. Turn left into McLeod street (Tynecastle Arms on corner) Follow road to T-junction then left onto Russell road. This is where the official coach park is.

Many thanks Alex. Have written down these directions and will give to our coach driver (all seats booked in Supporters Club 51 seater bus). If we get lost, I will blame you! See you there (if we ever get introduced!). An ICT win will be great too.

  4. I just don't get those folk who say we shouldn't appeal. Regardless of whether we think there is a not a cat in hell's chance of getting a fair hearing, you have to make the point. Not to do so means that by default you accept the current situation of poor refereeing, an inept (or worse) appeals panel and cheating by professional players. The more often injustices are made, the more important it is to draw attention to them. The club will look at the film very carefully, talk to Greg and if they conclude the decision was clearly wrong, then they simply have to appeal. TB's "assault by fingernail" comments after the match were spot on and it may be that he gets himself into trouble for daring to criticise the establishment in the way he did.

I have stuck up for referees before because it is an extremeny difficult job and decisions are made in a split second. In general, bad decisions even themselves up over the course of the season and if it was a case of it just being a day when the big decisions went against us then I would be with Dougal on this - but it isn't. Apart from the unjust sendings off, we've had penalties and offside goals awarded against us but we get nothing. These decisions change games and there can be little doubt that with a fair split of big decisions going our way we would be comfortably mid table by now.

No wonder fans stay away when matches are decided by players bending the rules of the game and referees letting them get away with it.

If Terry was to get into bother for his comments, then the pundits on BBC2 tonight said far worse about the referee. They were pretty damning about Steven O'Reilly - I just hope he and those faceless wonders on the Appeals Panel watched BBC2 tonight at 10pm and are embarrassed - the pundits thought all ICTs red cards this season were a nonsense - but then again nothing can be done to the pundits, just to our TB, and our team's the loser, again. Overpaid Incompetent referees - please go on strike again - the foreign ref we had then was first class.

  5. Did I just dream it - or did the BBC and their "pundits" say that ICT were robbed (or not in so many words!). Our game the 1st one on at 10pm and the "pundits" saying we should win the red card being rescinded (as long as TB words it carefully!? whatever that means). And they criticised the ref too. Wonders will never cease. But we still lose the points. Credit to bbc2 tv tonight - might be a long time before I say that again.

  6. I noticed this tweet from Richard Gordon last night: "@RichardGordon48: No goals in 376 minutes for Hearts, the longest run for any side in the SPL so far this season. Even worse than Aberdeen, just! :-)"

I'm hopeful their 376 minute period of no scoring is significantly extended. Can't wait for this one - tynecastle is probably the best away ground.

Since we have conceeded 30 goals in 15 games and not kept a clean sheet all season, I wouldn't be too confident!!

Oh, ye of little faith! Come on, Ryan Esson, don't let me down, please.

And the Supporters Club bus is filling up nicely too - obviously some fans think this is going to be a great game and regret not going to Killie.

  8. Am i one of the grounded few who doesnt feel offended or upset at chants by either of the OF?

A breath of fresh air - people are too willing to be offended these days.

Just how many of us would recognise a "sectarian song" if we heard it? I'm not sure there are that many and, why do the OF sing these "songs" at football matches anyway?

  9. So what have these songs got to do with football? Absolutely Sweet F*** All, which is what the authorities will do about them.

What a bunch of morons too for unveiling their woe is us persecution banner before the game - "OUR MUSIC HAS SURVIVED THROUGH FAMINE AND OPPRESSION". Get a life! Their music only serves to air political views from a bygone age and there is no place for it football, period. Yesterday's events also served to demonstrate that their team also continues to survive through dodgy refereeing and big lumbering soft overpaid foreign imports taking dives.

The sooner that they and their Old Scum partners leave Scottish Football all the better for the rest of the clubs trying to play honestly.

Superb! My sentiments exactly. Well said, Row S

  10. Every time I am just a wee bit bored, and nil on tv worth a second glance, then on goes my dvd player and so, tonight, for the umpteenth time I have relived this game and, so, why didnt the commentators really give us true credit! Joy of joys!! Maybe this Saturday I will get another memorable dvd to replace this one (my absolute favourite).

  11. Every person, from every walk of life, will have an opinion on the saga that is Paul Gascoine. Butcher has admitted he thought about a way that may, or may not, have helped the man. He dismissed that thought very quickly.

Paul Gascoine, like many before him, and many to come, is a victim of his own success. He was brought up through the very lowest end of our classless society. He had niether the skills nor the understanding to cope with the fruits of his success. On a few occassions he was built up then hammered back down again by the British press. He made mistakes. He became involved with unsavioury people. Basically he f***ed up. Now he is paying for all that. Throughout his successful times nobody came along that could help him cope with his successes. He had no guidance on the right side.

Perhap's if PG had had the father figure that is Alex Ferguson and the support and guidance throughout his life that MU affords their young stars then he may have turned out a very different person. As it was he was left to his own devices so long as he turned up to train and play.

Paul Gascoine done wrong. He paid for those wrongs with convictions, with loss of his wealth and with loss of his health. 44 years old looking like 84 and likely to be dead by 54 if he continues in his ways. We can all chastise the man for his past wrongdoings but perhaps its time the society that made him and broke him got to grips and helped rehabilitate him.

Well said Alex. I also would never condone violence of any kind but PG is a sad, sorry figure and, more to be pitied than scorned. Oh dear. How lucky are some players, past and present, to have caring managers who people manage properly. Interpersonal skills is an art, not always evident, but can be learned.

  12. My favourite DVD of all time. Has been replayed so often in my house, it must be getting worn out - though I must admit I fast-forward the first 30 minutes. A great game, to have been there and also to recall, time after time. The commentators expected Celtic to come back, but they didnt, and that increases the pleasure of listening to the commentary, even though it was four years ago. A great day.

dvd....where did you get that from?? though it does spring to mind that surely by now we have enough to create an old firm highlights disc

would be good to have the 2-1 against rangers on disc too. loved that one

I was thinking that as well Tug, if there is a DVD of this game i would love a copy, if i knew where to look .

Game was on tv and my dvd is from that.

  14. Chubbs told us, on Sunday at the under 19s game, that he is having surgery on his shoulder this week, similar to Aaron Doran's surgery. Best of luck, Andy - he hopes to back playing, after the under 19s winter break.

  15. For the first 90 minutes ICTunder 19s did everything but score (does that remind anyone of the 1st team this season before game v Killie ?) but in extra time, firstly the captain Jack Sutherland scored and then Kevin Buchan. As Davie said, the wee East Fife goalie played a blinder and was really the Man of the Match. A nice day out but thank goodness we didnt get to a penalty shoot-out, by then the frost was showing in the players breaths! Cold at the stadium, after 4pm, and especially noted that the East Fife fans outnumbered the ICTs nearly 10 to 1 - why was this game not advertised locally ??

Well done, the under 19s. Hope you get a home draw in the next round and it is advertised appropriately.
