Kelty Hearts @ Home Oct2025
A thoroughly disappointing result and a frustrating watch having helped Kelty to a two goal lead. We were cut open too easily for the opening goal and if you want my opinion then the referee could just as easily have booked the Kelty player for diving having left his foot in there to ensure he made contact with the defender (Chalmers). At the end of the day we lost ground on the top two and struggled to create clear openings. We also had too many passengers today. Accies pumped Montrose 4-0 and Stenhousemuir beat Cove 1-0, both away from home. East Fife drew with Alloa and in the late game, Peterhead beat Queens 3-0.

Inverness CT 2-2 Kelty Hearts - League 1
Stalemates in the Highlands The olde training ground derby saga continued in the Highlands with Kelty Hearts visiting the Caledonian Sarens PSG Stadium. Up until this meeting, Kelty have struggled to make headway this season lingering near the bottom with the Caley Jags near the top end. Last time the clubs met here back in April Kelty went home with all three points. This term, we opened our League1 campaign with a 3-0 win at Kelty. Could we consolidate our League position, or will Kelty get back on track? All would be revealed at five o'clock. As it happened, it was a disappointing performance and result where we lost ground on Accies and Stenhousemuir after a frustrating 2-2 draw against a poor Kelty side who could not believe they took a two goal lead before we pegged them back. Two goals from Innes Murray, one of them from the spot gave Kelty something to defend. Danny Devine reduced the leeway just before the break and Chanka Zimba powered in a second half header but we were unable to breach the defence again and a share of the spoils was the end result. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alfie Bavidge was preferred to Billy Mckay up front and Calum MacLeod was at right back in place of the injured Ross Millen. We looked to have plenty of attacking options with , Sole, Spoony, Longstaff and Allan all starting. Zimba, Mckay, Stewart and MacKinnon were all on the bench. Ricco Diack was suspended for the visitors with Innes Murray one of the main threats and on loan Aberdeen youngster Joe Teasdale starting. It was a tentative start from both sides as they eased into the game on a calm Saturday afternoon which should have been conducive to good football. Kelty were first to threaten when they benefitted from the break of the ball and Joe Teasdale was slipped in on the right side of goal, however, under pressure from Oscar MacIntyre, he scuffed his shot wide from a great position around twelve yards out. We failed to heed this early warning and eight minutes later Teasdale fed Innes Murray through and he was given the freedom of our penalty box to slot the ball in from just wide of the same area that Teasdale almost did. Shoddy defending and keeper Munro might want to sharpen up on his angles when he watches this one back. Calum MacLeod got himself into a great position on the end of a bit of team ball retention around the Kelty box, alas his neat turn and shot went high and wide. A blocked shot from Aaron Arnott had to be tipped out for a corner with the keeper and defender combining to keep it out. From the resulting short corner, Joe Chalmers was harshly adjudged to have fouled Alex Ferguson as he tried to dribble inside the box. It appears as though there was minimal contact but Ferguson made the most of is to go down spreadeagled and con the referee into awarding a penalty. Soft award but Murray cared not a jot as he stroked in his and Kelty's second from the spot. We had to wait nearly twenty minutes for a response and it came in the shape of Danny Devine. A deeeeep corner that Richard Hastings would have been proud of saw Danny make a late run towards the back post for him to half volley a first timer into the net for a well worked training ground goal. Kelty almost got another gift when Munro slipped as he went to gather a harmless ball forward to just outside the edge of the box. He slipped as he took the ball back into the box and was able to gather at the second attempt as the vultures closed in. Moments later we almost levelled after MacIntyre let fly from twenty-five yards, but Adamson was equal to it flying across goal to his left to claw the ball away one handed for a superb save. HALF TIME: 1-2 Longstaff had limped off badly at the break and was replaced by Chanka Zimba. He tried to make an early impact as he was played in on the left side of the box but his powerful low drive towards the near post was blocked away by the keeper and mopped up by the defenders with attackers in close attention. He would do better five minutes later when he got on the end of a brilliant reverse cross from Spoony to plant his header solidly behind Adamson. Liam Sole had been relatively quiet so far but he cut in off the left and brought out another blocked save from Adamson at his near post with around half an hour left to find a winner. Sadly, that winner was somewhat elusive as half chances came and went, mainly for the hosts. Sole, Devine and Zimba failed with headers as Inverness flattered to deceive and Kelty wasted more time than a Swiss watch factory. Billy Mckay fired one wide across the face of the goal. The closest we came to achieving our goal was in a frantic penalty box melee, when Alfie Stewart's snapshot was deflected agonisingly wide as it spun the wrong side of the post and out for a corner. MacKinnon and Stewart again had the final opportunities but we failed to find the net again on a frustrating afternoon for the home fans. FULL TIME: 2-2 A thoroughly disappointing result and a frustrating watch having helped Kelty to a two goal lead. Inverness CT -V- Kelty Hearts - League1 - Preview
Training Ground Derby The second quarter of the season kicks off on Saturday as Kelty Hearts pay us a visit for a scheduled 3:00pm start at the Caledonian SarensPSG Stadium. This is the reverse fixture from our opening game of the season when we won 3-0 at Kelty as we kicked off the campaign in style despite a five point deduction. Scott Kellacher has scooped the manager of the Month award for August and September but we began October with a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Hamilton Accies who now top the table followed by Stenhousemuir and the Caley Jags. It was a KDM weekend last time out and we eventually overcame a decent Forfar Athletic side although we had to be patient to overcome them. Kelty were also in KDM action last week and beat St Mirren B 2-1, a brace from Ricco Diack enough to see off the young Buddies side. Not been the best of campaigns so far for the Maroons who sit second bottom of the table at the moment with only two wins and a minus ten goal difference. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Match/Ticket/Bus/Info Hospitality ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nearly one year in charge for Scott!!! Next week marks one year since Scott Kellacher took over as our Head Coach! 🔴🔵 To celebrate the milestone, Scott will be taking part in a special fans Q&A, which will be filmed and shared across ICTFC social channels on the anniversary next Thursday. 💬Got a question for the gaffer? Send it by email to [email protected] 🕙Deadline for questions: 10am on Monday! We tweaked our team a bit at Forfar with Devine, Spoons, Longshot and Chalmers all starting on the bench and Alfie Stewart helping out Dons B at Elgin. Ross Millen started at RB but went off injured before the interval. Sounds familiar! That apart, they continue to defy the odds by being competitive on the park as are Stenhousemuir. Would be a good time for Cove to get back to winning ways this weekend. The games at Alloa and Palmerston are evenly balanced so all in, it's a weekend where results could go either way. Inverness and Accies are way out in front on the Goal Difference charts with +11. Bearing in mind we started the season five points adrift of the rest, we can be pleased with our first quarter report card. Our next 3 fixtures are: Away to Peterhead 25th Oct Home to Montrose 01st Nov KDM at Home v Arabs 06th Nov Kelty Hearts won the last fixture at Inverness at the tail end of last season. A snippet from our report: Dibaga was unable to continue in the second period with young Szymon Rebilas taking the gloves. We still failed to trouble Adams after play resumed and it was no surprise when we went behind with Kelty looking much faster when they broke forward compared to our pedestrian approach. McCarvel raced through to slot home ten minutes from the end before Cole tied up the points with our defence in disarray. A thoroughly disappointing afternoon with little entertainment value. Let's hope Calum Jones puts on a better show in Bar94. Kells knew it and was no a happy Bunny: “We didn’t start well, and we didn’t work anywhere near hard enough like we did when we won at Cove last weekend. “This is really frustrating – there are no excuses for that. “We might not play well, or some things don’t come off in play, but we need to work much harder.

Old Inverness Caledonian Thistle Programmes
To give some context to these programmes, here's the CTO reports From our own Stats and Ian Broadwood's reports: Dundee United Scottish Cup replay (after extra time Inverness CT 2-3 Dundee United Scottish Cup - Rd 4 (replay) Wednesday, February 18th, 1998, 7:30 PM at Caledonian Stadium, Inverness Attendance: 5,821 Referee: J Rowbotham A thrilling cup tie. The Inverness side fought like tigers in front of a record crowd (5,821) with the prize of a home tie against Celtic. United took the lead in the 7th minute when Olofsson took a through ball from McKinnon and lashed it home from 12 yards. On the 30 minute mark United were awarded a penalty when Winters tumbled in the box but Calder dived to his right to deny Pressley. A minute later Robertson sent a lob just over and in 33 minutes Dijkstra did well to smother the ball after a goalmouth scramble. In the 36th minute Cherry sent Wilson off on a run but his final shot was deflected away. On the 40 minute mark Shearer blocked a Dijkstra clearance but could only turn and hit it over the bar with the keeper stranded. A minute later the referee turned down a penalty appeal after Wilson was tripped in the box. Play raged on in the second half with Caley Thistle pressing and United hitting on the break. 6 minutes from full time the game seemed to be over when McSwegan made it 2-0, a good run and finish after pouncing on a misplaced Robson pass. Caley Thistle had other ideas and a minute later Thomson headed home a Teasdale cross to pull one back. With 90 seconds of injury time played McCulloch set off on a run down the right, played it to Wilson who backheeled it into his path and hit home a glorious angled volley from 20 yards. Extra time was lacking in chances as legs tired but the deadlock was broken 3 minutes into the second period. As Caley Thistle pressed forward McSwegan took advantage of the defensive gaps and ran through to provide Zetterlund with a shooting chance on the edge of the box and he took it gratefully and sealed the tie. Time ran out and United went forward to meet Celtic. A wonderful night for Inverness football despite the result. League Match Inverness CT 0-0 Clydebank Saturday, October 18th, 1997, 3:00 PM at Caledonian Stadium, Inverness Attendance: 1,542 Referee: R Orr A lucklustre performance from both sides. Defences played well and chances were rare. In 10 minutes Andersen sent a long ball through for Stewart but Ian Macfarlane raced out of his goal to clear. A minute later a Stewart pass from the left was met by Shearer but his off-balance strike was saved by the keeper. Two minutes later at the other end Simon Kaljob intercepted a McCulloch header and forced two great saves from Fridge. In 21 minutes Robson sent in a cross from the left which Shearer just failed to reach and 4 minutes later Clydebank's Derick McWilliams shot over the bar from 18 yards when he should have done better. In 38 minutes a tremendous last-gasp tackle from MacArthur took the ball off the feet of Kaljob inside the box. Just before half-time Robson ran down the left and sent in a great ball across goal but he was too fast for the other forwards and nobody was there to take advantage. Four minutes into the second half Thomson ran onto a through ball but the keeper took the ball off his feet. In 55 minutes Shearer for once had some room and forced a good save from MacFarlane with a 10 yard drive. The home side created most in the second half but nothing came off. Robson had a good 15 yard shot saved in 75 minutes and a Stewart chip shot was saved in 80 minutes. Clydebank's best second half chance came in 79 minutes when substitute Gary Teale ran clear in the box but another last-gasp MacArthur tackle saved the day. The game petered out to a goal-less draw. After 9 games Inverness still seek their first league win. Friendly Match: Inverness CT 3-4 Rangers Tuesday, October 7th, 1997, 7:30 PM at Caledonian Stadium, Inverness Attendance: 4,336 Referee: K Bisset INVERNESS C T 3 (McCulloch 42, Stewart 84, Shearer 85) RANGERS 4 (Clelland 6, Van Vossen 28 & 50, Stensaas 33) INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE: Calder, MacArthur, Andersen, Noble (Thomson 59), Hastings, McCulloch, De-Barros, Shearer, Stewart, Christie (Ross 63), Robson (Wilson 59) Subs - Fridge & Tokely RANGERS: Rae, Wright, Bollan, McCall, Petric, Nicolson (Wilson 70), Stensaas, Cleland, Van Vossen (Fitzgerald 78), Durrant, Boyack Subs - Stone & Brown REFEREE: K Bisset (Inverness) ATTENDANCE: 4336 BOOKED: Hastings (Inverness CT) REPORT - Rangers fielded a strong team for this much delayed official opening of Caledonian Stadium. They were cruising to a comfortable win before the Inverness side scored 2 late goals and gave them a fright. Alex Clelland scored the first in 6 minutes from close range after an Ian Durrant pass across goal. 4 minutes later Iain Stewart had the first of several bad breaks when he thumped the ball off the bar. Stephen Boyack should have made it 2-0 in 26 minutes when he missed an open goal but 2 minutes later a suspiciously offside Peter Van Vossen scored after a Boyack cross. In 33 minutes it looked like a walk-over for Rangers when a great Durrant run and pass allowed Stale Stensaas to easily make it 3-0. Mark McCulloch brought the Inverness side right back into it just before half time when he pounced on a Rae fumble and blasted it home. It was nearly 3-2 just after the interval when a Stewart volley was deflected past. On the 50 minute mark Van Vossen scored his second when he collected a long through ball, strode past the defence and slipped it past Calder. 4 minutes later he missed a sitter when he tripped over the ball. In the last 20 minutes the home side fought hard and eventually were rewarded with 2 goals. In 84 minutes Stewart headed in a Ross corner for a well deserved counter and a minute later a glancing Shearer header from an Andersen free kick made it 4-3. Honour was well satisfied and the home fans went off proud of their team's performance. A good evenings entertainment all round.

I had an easy paper round.💪- Forfar Athletic 1-4 Inverness CT - KDM Trophy
Still unbeaten in KDM Matchday 5 of of the KDM Trophy saw Inverness travel to Station Park to take on Jim Weir's League2 side Forfar Athletic. Inverness had won their four previous fixtures in this seasons Challenge Cup and topped the table ahead of this fixture where their opponents had won three of their four fixtures. In the League campaigns, the Caley Jags had lost just their second game last week and sit third in League1. Forfar went down 2-1 at Elgin City in a League2 fixture last Saturday and they sit at the top end of mid-table. Billy Mckay and Alfie Bavidge were up top for the Caley Jags with Liam Sole and Adam MacKinnon the providers. Ross Millen and Mitchell Robertson came into the back four with Devine dropping to the bench and MacLeod moving into midfield. Alfie Stewart has been representing Aberdeen B in this competition and he is at Elgin City today.Forfar had top scorer Martin Rennie up front with Scott Shepherd and Neil Stafford swapped with Marc McCallum in goal. Inverness continued their winning run in the KDM Trophy. However, Forfar took a deserved first half lead through top scorer Martin Rennie who was injured in the process and promptly substituted. A stern talking to at the interval brought about a change in fortune as MacLeod and MacKinnon put the visitors ahead within ten minutes. Luis Longstaff added a third and Billy Mckay got a wonderful fourth at the end. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A relatively quiet opening but there was a timely reminder that we would have to work hard to get anything from this game. Ten minutes in and Ross Munro produced a tremendous save to stop Stuart Morrison opening the scoring. Almost immediately after this warning, Paul Allan's curling free kick shaved the outside of the post. The hosts were prepared to have a go though and Craig Slater fired high and wide with Scott Shepherd going closer without troubling the keeper. Alfie Bavidge dragged an effort wide before the warning became a reality. Martin Rennie opened the scoring after waltzing through the visitors defence. Unfortunately for him he was replaced by Nathan Cannon minutes later after getting injured scoring his goal. That woke us up from our slumber and Paul Allan had an effort blocked before Billy Mckay and Adam MacKinnon were both denied by Neil Stafford in the home goal. Ross Millen took a knock before the break and was replaced by Joe Chalmers with MacLeod dropping deeper to right back. Still, it was the hosts that were creating the better opportunities and Jake Sutherland fluffed his cross and a grateful Munro Gathered. Bavidge and Billy Mckay tried to respond right on the interval but failed to find the target. HALF TIME: 1-0 Luis Longstaff replaced Liam Sole at the break as Inverness looked to inject a bit more urgency into this lacklustre side. It paid of five minutes into the second half when Calum MacLeod took advantage of pedestrian defending following a corner to level the game and Adam MacKinnon did likewise five minutes later. MacLeod then shot over, but Forfar were far from out of it and Angus Mailer was thwarted by another superb save by Ross Munro. However, the wind might have been taken out of the Loons sails when substitute Luis Longstaff scored a third for the Caley Jags drilling home on the end of a tidy move forward. Munro was heading for a MotM performance as he saved from Nathan Cannon. Billy Mckay took a knock with twenty minutes remaining but recovered and Longstaff was denied a second by Stafford as the subs came in. Billy Mckay headed wide ten minutes from the end. He would do better in the 90th minute though as he shot home from the edge of the box to complete the scoring with a classy finish. He'll be glad he stayed on the park now. FULL TIME: 1-4 Good effort by Forfar who caused the Caley Jags plenty of problems, especially in the first half. The second half fightback was enough to see the Loons off, but it was not as easy as the score suggests. We complete our KDM group fixtures when Dundee United visit on Tuesday November 11th. Inverness will be one of the seeded sides which means they will avoid a Championship side in the first knock-out round. Disney Time Again Yes it's that time again. Disney time. Disney matter if we win or lose to be honest. The Cup we all love to hate, or is it hate to love. The KDM Trophy fixtures are back and it's game five of six in the qualifying group stage with only eight teams dropping out after this stage. Those positions are occupied by 'B' Teams. Forfar Athletic are the hosts and they are one of the better placed teams only three points of the pace. For Inverness, it will be an opportunity for some of the defenders to redeem themselves after a less than impressive display last weekend against Hamilton, gifting goals like they were going out of fashion. They have beaten Dons B, Hibs B and Dundee B in the KDM and their only defeat was to League1 Montrose by 1-0. Heaviest defeat was a 5-0 drubbing by East Kilbride in a League2 game at the end of August. Our team from last weekends defeat at Broadwood Stadium. It wasn't a defensive masterclass, however, just the two defeats in the League so far and none in the KDM Trophy. Maybe freshen up the defence and get Ross Millen, Mathew Strachan and Mitchell Robertson on from the start. The Manager of the Month award curse eventually caught up with us at Broadwood as Scott Kellacher won the award for the second consecutive Month having gone through September with a 100% record. Unfortunately we went to play Hamilton Accies in October and suffered badly from the curse going down 3-1 during storm Amy. Hopefully the weather is better this weekend and we can get back to playing football the way it should be played. CALEY JAGS BLOWN AWAY With storm Amy raging around the Country, Accies and the Caley Jags faced off at Broadwood Stadium on a drookit and windswept Broadwood Stadium in this top of the table League1 clash. Both sides had made one change from last weekend. For Accies, Steven Bradley returned to the starting XI whilst the visitors Alfie Bavidge replaced Chanka Zimba who suffered a head knock against East Fife. Accies blew Inverness away with Amy spoiling our day. Goals from O'Hara, McDonald and Shaw were enough to win the three points and send Accies to the top of the table. Bavidge scored our counter but we drop to third with Stenhousemuir second. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The wind would play a big part in this fixture and three minutes in Connor Smith tried to catch Ross Munro out with a wind assisted free kick from near the halfway line, but the keeper was alert enough to tip it behind for a corner. Accies were well up for this one and Steven Bradley fired wide as the hosts used the conditions to their advantage. Scott Robinson had an effort deflected and grasped by Munro as he shot from outside the box. Robinson was keen to offload and fired another couple of salvo's just wide. In the Caley Jags first meaningful attack, Liam Sole cut in and curled an effort wide after twenty minutes. No surprise really that Accies took the lead midway through the half when Kevin O'Hara shot home after mugging Danny Devine and he almost doubled the lead a minute later with Munro saving. He saved again from a Loughrey header and an O'Hara effort as Accies dominated the first half. Alfie Bavidge broke the monopoly on opportunities but he saw his shot blocked. A wee bit of pressure on the home goal approaching the interval as Wotherspoon's strike from distance was saved by Jamie Smith. The visitors made it to the interval still within touching distance. Let's hope the wind doesn't drop. HALF TIME: 1-0 No changes at the break, and if anything, the wind was even stronger. Just after the hour we had a manic minute. Alfie Bavidge levelled from just inside the box as he rifled the ball high into the net after a deft backheel from Luis Longstaff. However, a minute later Accies lead was restored by Kyle MacDonald as he slotted into the bottom corner after some shoddy defending on our right side. With Inverness looking to press forward, and a stonewall penalty shout waved away as we tried to salvage something, Oli Shaw put the game to bed with a time added on strike into the bottom corner moments after being denied by the keeper. Meh! FULL TIME: 3-1 It's not often that we can say this, but we were defensively poor today and were the architects of our own downfall. A poor choice of pass from MacIntyre led to Danny getting the ball nicked off him for the first. The second was a combination of sloppy defending and the wind, and the third we were found wanting when chasing the game. On the plus side, Alfie Bavidge smashed home a great strike and despite the five point deduction, we are in the group at the right end of the table and just one point off the top. The only two sides to have beaten us are the ones directly above us. This is the sequel to Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the wind... It's the remake starring Kevin O'Hara in Gone with the wind. Accies Storm Warning With storm Amy closing in and wide spread disruption across the land predicted, It makes one wonder the merits of trying to play football under the current weather forecast. Not only that, what about the safety of the travelling supporters who want to cheer on their side? It's high time the authorities looked ahead and made these decisions and not leave it for the clubs to decide. Should the game go ahead, it's scheduled for a 3:00pm kick-off at Broadwood Stadium. Despite their well documented financial issues, Accies have made a strong start to League1 after their relegation last season. Many expected them to fall apart but they have dug in and made a positive start winning four games with just the two defeats. Inverness though have made a stunning start and despite a five point handicap, they top the table winning seven of their eight games and are on a five game winning streak. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Match/Ticket/Supporters Bus/Info ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was the Caley Jags squad that took them to the top of the table with a 4-1 win over East Fife. East Fife on 𝕏 Brian Easton was forced to leave the field during yesterday’s match following a head collision. He was attended to by both East Fife and Inverness medical staff, having briefly lost consciousness before receiving stitches for a cut. We’re pleased to report that Brian was able to travel back with the team and is now recovering at home. He is feeling okay, though understandably a little groggy. A huge thank you goes to the medical staff at Inverness for their swift and professional assistance.- ICT Woman's Season 2025-2026
