Oakley for Woking, plus Storey for Hereford, scored their first goals for their new clubs today (28 Aug).

Interesting to see Steven Dobbie came on as a sub in the 72nd minute. Storey scored in the 75th minute and Dobbie in the 77th minute.

    'HEREFORD 1
    AFC FYLDE 4
POWERFUL Fylde ruthlessly exploited Hereford’s lack of defensive steel with a runaway win.

Two first-half goals from Nick Haughton were added to by Jamie Stott and substitute Stephen Dobbie to leave the Bulls with nothing but Miles Storey’s consolation strike.'

  2. To me Roddy's tackle just after half time demonstrated how much he wanted to win this game - thereafter the whole team became driven. A great result.

On Graham - in the first half he appeared to jump for high balls by ignoring the ball and generally causing trouble for the defender. His one good moment was creating space in the box at 1-0 but Mark made a great save.

The subject of divers in football is well documented but he seems to have a history playing against us whereby there have been quite worrying off the ball incidents. The incident with Carson was very underhand but Carson's response appeared to say it all. McCall is not a likeable Manager but for once he did the ethical thing and hooked Graham immediately afterwards. Unless referees are more observant - difficult when a player does things behind their backs - I believe we could see severe injury.  Graham and Deas were warned by the referee in the first half but immediately afterwards Graham placed his arms on Deas and whilst Deas responded the referee took no further action. Graham should have been booked for that alone. It was in front of 'Lionel', the referee and our dugout.

  3. By definition I know Bournemouth well and Ryan will be very relaxed there. If he settles in quickly and the Cherries get going again he should become a regular rather than a seat warmer which enhances his chance of playing in the EPL either for Bournemouth under a very good manager or an EPL side. It was a surprise move but I can see the logic. Ted was quite a character. Ryan is slightly different in that respect.  Waiting to see how Shinnie copes with him!! On the face of it ICT will now get a decent amount of money from the deal which will be a major bonus.

  4. I know it is unwise to gloat but has anyone else noticed some panic over the bridge? After the latest in Highland clearances by a wealthy owner the new Manager seems concerned at the lack of players at his disposal.  After a fortuitous point against St Johnstone Sunday's result in Edinburgh has generated some amusing comments over the bridge. Duds and pish stand out. With Rangers at home and Aberdeen and Celtic away in their next three games things look quite challenging. This could be the season when ICT is really motivated to keep results coming whilst County stretch their chequebook. It looks like Coll might soon be available on the cheap!

  5. All signings have reason to develop. Gardyne does not want to retire just yet. Billy will be just as keen to score now as before. McAlear has a career in front of him with an EPL club if he can develop. Duku still has a point to prove. Gardyne and Billy also add much needed experience that will benefit our really good younger talent. All good news and pleasing in the light of the lockdown mentality we have come to accept but now keen to move forward.

  6. Gardyne is a top professional.  He would bring great experience to the club. Billy could be a superb addition if he was prepared to accept our wage structure.

Disappointed that a supporter would use the term venomous at a time when sports people have had to switch off using social media.
