  1. Although as I said elsewhere I would prefer Esson for his better penalty saving record.

Not quite sure where your coming from here but did I miss a penatly shoot out with each game we have left?

I would have to go with Esson just because of the pre contract, it would not be fair to either Ike or ICT if his mistake cost us the game, through possibly no fault of his own it could tarnish an impeccible record of a local boy done good.

  2. Having seen the lack of pace with Pavels he would not fancy someone taking him on down the line, so no I haven't seen him play there but neither would I want to.

Some players are just better suited to be facing the ball when it comes to them, and that's why Lionel is best placed at full back.

Having versatile players is always an advantage but you have to look at their own strengths and weaknesses to determine who could do a job for you in a particular role and I think their weaknesses outway their strengths in those positions and that's why I wouldn't play them there.

  3. Renegade, in all the games we have played since TB took over, he has stuck to a 4-4-2, why would he change now?

Pavels at right side of defence would be a disaster, he would be like a fish out of water.

Djebi-Zadi in middle of midfield, what have you seen that would suggest that he would be effective there?

Putting so many forward players on would just leave you open at the back for their counter attacks.

  4. I think he has done a great job when we needed it, but I'm unsure as to why he hasn't got back in if he was the best man for the job. Therefore I would think that TB and MM have seen something in training that would exclude him from a starting place at this crucial time of the season and as long as Grant and Ross keep playing well then Pavels won't get a look in.

I certainly don't think he would get any where near a midfield role, severe lack of pace.

  5. ESSON

    PROCTOR TOKELY MUNRO DJEBI-ZADI

    IMRIE MIHADJUKS BLACK McBAIN

    FORAN BARROWMAN

I wouldn't want to break up the pairing of Tokely and Munro at the back, but Pavels is too good to be left out the side.

I think he could do a job for us in a central midfield role.

Pavels hasn't started last 3 games and barring injury I can't see him starting any of the remaining games either.

  6. I would go with the same line up as last game, with McBain doing the man marking job on McCarthy.

Many posts seem to think Pavels is out because he is injured, but if that was the case why was he on the bench?

  7. our form in the last 8 games is (equal) third best among ALL SPL teams. Every single one of the other 5 in the bottom half sits between 8th and 12th on that list with Falkirk in 11th.

That was why it has been effective, but I do not think it has been good to watch and those who think it will change are sadly mistaken. It is all about getting points and having watched their tactics TB and MM are all about getting it from back to front as quickly as possible and those of you giving Grant a hard time for punting the ball forward should ask themselves if that is what he has been asked to do.

  8. Why do Falkirk need to rely on others?

because they are 4 points adrift ..... they need to hope someone else slips up.

The way I see it, every team has their own fate in their own hands. If Falkirk were to win all their games they would be safe, the same as everyone else. I personally don't believe they will win all their games and just as we are feeling the pressure, I'm sure everyone of the bottom 5 will all be feeling the same pressure. Some of these teams will not survive if they go down and this will have been made very clear to them, therefore they should have a bigger burden knowing it could be their jobs on the line. As has been said, although it's not great to watch it has been very effective and a couple of positive results could see us safe long before we send Falkirk back to the 1st Division.

  9. Looking at the possible fixtures after the split, it looks like we have been given an advantage as the only team we haven't played at home twice is Falkirk. So the logic would see us play 3 games away and 2 at home to get 19 home and 19 away, which would mean that we will end up playing one of the other teams 3 times at home and only 1 away. Hope your still with me!! :rotflmao: So hopefully if results go our way the fixtures could come out, but not necessarily in this order:-

    Away - Killie

    Home - Hibs

    Away - St Mirren

    Home - Falkirk

    Away - Hamilton

Which realistically should mean if we win on sat with Hamilton and Falkirk lose to Hearts, we only need to win our remaining 2 games at home to stay up. :thumb04:
