  1. Danny Macdonald got the 5th goal not Barry. Are we not getting the 7th goal that gave Herchie his hattrick!
  2. Mike

    Split Fixtures

But on a positive note for them, the top 6 usually finish on the Sunday so an extra day to travel.
  3. Thought it was a pen, but because he got booked for diving G. Shinnie will miss next derby game! Punished twice!
  4. Ref was Steve McLean, 4th official was Crawford Allan.
  5. Mike

    Off the rails

I hope he is right, as I'm sure that would mean a top six finish!
  6. Mike

    Off the rails

Fair summary but not sure how we could have donated 12 points to them this season unless you know something of what's to come?
  7. Jim Calder? It was John Scott, got first offer on players top as it was his 21st.
  8. Not sure about this but given Mrs T said as of 48hrs ago Ross was not accepting a new contract with ICT why was this not reported by the club? Reading other items I have read in local media they don't seem to be mentioning this to anyone, they surely knew ? Disappointing as Ross would/should have been used in a youth coaching role as well as cover and given the respect he really deserved. Grant was also someone who didn't have an agent so maybe (not sure if Ross did or not) for everyone who has a dig at agents they can obviously assist a player as well!!
  9. Quote from Lindsay Tokely on Facebook:-So after hearing numerous untrue reports I'd just like to confirm as of 48 hours ago, after 16 years of service Ross confirmed he will not be playing for caley thistle next season. That's the last of the old brigade!
  10. I'm sorry but with each club wanting to delay the kick off the only people who couldn't be contacted to make this decision were the SPL! With Peter Lawell saying the fans should be considered more, it was him and Celtic who as the Inspection drew closer wanted the game cancelled as they thought the pitch would be too much of a leveller! It's great in hindsight to look after the event and say what if we waited but at the time when the referee was forced into the decision, he made the correct call. Given that the majority of supporters would have been in the vacinity of Inverness, why would the SPL not man up and give the game every chance of going ahead, but as someone else has said, not having someone available to make this decision was all down to the SPL and they can always hide behind the referee calling the game off but if they were available they could have taken the executive decision to put this game back and save everyone the inconvenience of it being cancelled.
  11. Not sure exactly what hyperbole is but from my limited knowledge you seem to think I produced a statement that's exaggerated for effect (not sure what part you mean??) maybe you can explain? If that's what you took from the post then I got it all wrong, my reply was to Huisdean and basically I thought it was a penalty and we didn't get a penalty later on because we didn't claim or appeal for it and referee decisions go both ways. Strangely can't remember saying anything about not taking chances or anything about scoring but you read into what you want! I also did not mention cheating, I said if in a position that you feel your are being fouled then claim for it, if someone trips you up then go down you don't need to stay on your feet, that's not cheating in my book.
  12. I thought it was a penalty at the time and looks clear cut in the highlights. I think it was Shinnie who dispossed Imrie and then played it inside to Foran who then played a terrible pass out and that was where the penalty came from, it's strange but there seems to be a lot on here who lament about playing the ball on the deck and not just punting it clear but if Foran had found row z with the ball out we would have gone in at half time a goal up! I think there's a time and place for everything and that was the time for the punt! There was also a case for Hamilton in the first half when the ball bounced up a struck Shinnie on the hand in our box and I've seen them given. The push on Sutherland at the end, I thought could have been given but we didn't even put the thought into the referee's head, Sutherland stayed on his feet and didn't even make any sort of appeal but I can bet if it was at the other end any one of the Hamilton players would have gone down and at least ask the question. In fact there were probably three seperate incidents that we could have gone down in the box but tried to stay on our feet, is it being too honest or as Huisdean said not streetwise?
  13. I'm not sure how accurate this is but due to his age (23) is there not something about clubs being compensated if they lose a player up to this age. I remember something about even if they didn't re sign you were still entitled to money as you developed the talent?
  14. I believe it was for the former Chairman of Inverness Thistle at the time of the merger. Who ever it was for it was great to see the silence impecably observed by both sets of fans. Charlie Cuthbert who was Thistle Chairman after Jock Macdonald, a real gentleman of the local game and sadly missed from the footballing community when the merger really took hold. my sympathy goes to his wife Marion and their family.
  15. I think it's a bit hard singling out those two when as a team we were poor in the first half. These are two foreign players who need time to get used to the Scottish game, time it seems like no one is willing to give them! I also think that having seen the way County played in the first derby and the heavy soft pitch, it wasn't a game to start Sanchez, he may have been more effective coming on later in the game. Why when it was obvious to everyone at the game that Bulvitis was struggling did we persist in playing in short to him putting him under even more pressure. The formation for me was all wrong in the first half, we were overrun in midfield and when our defence got the ball they had to pass it across the back waiting for some movement but we had too many players hiding not showing for it and eventually they had to just punt it aimlessly forward. There was a certain player that looked like he couldn't give a toss, I don't mind if you have a poor game but still try and work hard for the team but he was like a petulant child who everything should revolve around and when it doesn't he's not interested. On the county side you had the complete opposite with Gardyne (7) totally running the show but working hard for his team and deserved his MOM. I think TB needs to realise what team he is up against and that certain players need to be left out for the good of the balance of the side, some game are just going to be about a battle and you need the players who are up for that, unfortunately I don't think we have enough of that type of players to choose from!
