  1. I presume that the BBC will be showing online highlights again this season?

We will try to cover all the various options in our matchday thread ....... but as far as I know .... the media arrangements so far are as follows.

    Audio:

    • BBC Radio Scotland - as normal. All games (except that noted by CB above) national on the radio. Online, some games will be worldwide whilst others will be UK only.
    • Moray Firth Radio - All games local via the radio, UK only via online stream

    Video

    • Various games live via SKY / ESPN (30 each per season). These are all UK only but various international channels will also show games but people in those locations will have to find out for themselves !!!
    • BBC ALBA offer a match 'as live' on a Saturday night. UK Only.
    • All these matches are denoted on the SPL fixture list at www.scotprem.com with an icon for the relevant broadcaster
    • BT Vision also have a match in full via delayed transmission.
    • STV have acquired the rights to use SPL footage across their daily new bulletins and their Sports Centre programme broadcast ahead of each weekend's fixtures. STV will also be assisting the SPL to produce over 100 matches each season and manage their archive content going back to 1998.
    • Highlights are available on Sky Sports and BBC Scotland on Monday night.
    • Online highlights can be viewed on the BBC Sport website.
    • Subject to getting a copy of the guidelines from the SPL we will also continue to assist the club in getting their own highlights up on the official website as before. these will likely be the same footage as those featured on BBC/SKY/ESPN etc as they will be obliged to give the club a copy but the difference in putting it up on the club site is that it can be viewed globally rather than just within the UK. There may be a delay in starting this service as we are still waiting on details but once all the questions are cleared up hopefully all games will be made available.

we will also continue to trial the "live commentary" function we did for the QP game with a view to transferring it to the club somewhere down the line if it proves popular/succesfull

And for those in Australia you can get the Celtic game at 9.15pm this Saturday on Setanta if you've got it. It is possible to get this (setanta-i) through your computer if you dont have cable.

  2. With regards to the higlights on the BBC website - these are normally not available overseas. We can sometimes get the interviews with TB but not often any actual match action. That is why the ICT website footage is so good - hope they can continue providing this.

  3. FOUND ONE - its the Irish bar on Queen street (O'Malley's) although I believe it is the bar that the Brisbane Celtic supporters club go to. It will be good to be there when they get a doing in the first game of the season.

I wish all the ICT games could be shown on Setanta and not just the old firm matches.

  4. Our current stadium is situated in one of the most picturesque locations in British football. I for one hope we stay where we are.

Totally agree - is there any stadium in Scotland locate in such a nice setting?

  5. I hope they stay at TCS and develop it rather than moving. I reckon opposition teams hate playing there due to the freezing winds off the Moray Firth and this gives ICT an advantage.

I certainly wouldnt like to see them relocate to anywhere further out of the city.

  6. Am sure ICT wouldnt mind pitch getting used once over close season.

I don't think Tommy would be too happy. :D

Caley Thistle were looking at taking part in something like this as part of Football Aid a few years ago (around 2000/01). People could bid for a place in the team and the money all went to charity. It actually fell through for some reason - not enough bids or something. I actually won a place (the home number 8 position) through the daily record competition so was very disappointed when it fell through. Reckon it would be a good idea - i'd certainly bid (if I didnt live in brisbane - a little to far to travel). Would be great to play on the TCS pitch. I reckon they should also have a few of the ICT team involved too so that you can say you've played against/with the likes of Rooney, Haynes etc!

  7. Like me you mean, someone who is dedicated to there work in a way that he only takes a weeks holiday and a few Saturdays in order to watch Caley. No way is anyone going to beat that :D

I think someone just did ........

Well said Scotty! I would love to get to more games but i get to the ones i can, seeing that i live in Australia!

I thought I did well coming 4000 miles every so often and 'accidentally' working the dates out so that there were one or two games on when I visited ... but I got to hand it to the boys down under who make a trek that is 3 or 4 times longer than mine (each way) .... Jock Watt did it, so too did Gabby and from his post I assume Gerry has also done it ... of course, we cant forget Scarlet either who travelled from Vancouver to watch the mighty ICT.

Point is, we all make an effort and we will all have stories to tell about sacrifices or efforts we have made to follow ICT and we are all absolutely wonderful fans  .... but my vote goes to Doresboy :D - sitting next to Uncle Albert does it !!! PS ... Guzz ... give the grumpy old sod my best

Well said Scotty. I have made the long trip over from Oz for this weekends game (amongst other things) which will be my first in over 3 years. Even convinced my friends to get married the weekend after the last game of the season so that they wouldnt clash and so that I'd have 2 good reasons to make the trip.

  8. Looking forward to televised matches that are NOT in Gaelic, and having a place on a Scottish football highlights program (still cant believe there isn't a division one program).

Oh and of course outing the OF supporters in the North Stand!

Getting to see ICT on the big screen over here (Brisbane) on Setanta, rather than just the web highlights.

Hey hey, another Brisbane-ite. It will be great to be able to see some ICT games this year. Let me know if you hear of any pubs showing them - meet you there with the ICT shirt on! Presumably it will most likely only be games against the OF they will show .

  9. The volcano stopped just at the right time for me so I have now made it all the way from Oz and will be in place for the 3pm kickoff this weekend. Wish I could have got here for Ayr as it looks as if it was a great party but hopefully the dundee game should be a great atmosphere too.

  10. Ideal for this season is Fatboy Slim with "praise you".

    Just for the first lines...

we've come a long long way together, through the bad times and the good,

I have to celebrate you baby, I have to praise you like I should.

  11. I hope they award it at the Dundee game so that i can be there to see it but mostly I am hoping this damn volcano stops causing so much chaos with the airlines otherwise I wont be seeing any football at TCS on May 1st.

  12. Okay, so now that we are 99.9% of the way back to the SPL who do you want to see drop down from there?

My preference is for Falkirk after them stealing safety from us on the last game of last season but part of me would like to think that Aberdeen could mess up enough to find themselves relegated.

Methinks Aberdeen are safe now no matter what happens. Not sure though.

I want Falkirk to go down anyway.

Darn it. Falkirk it is then!
