  1. I lived in Ayr for 3 years whilst a student and never had any trouble in the many, many nights out in the town. Also never had or saw any trouble around somerset park on the occasions I went there.

  2. Thanks for that - great to see some of those old shirts again. My personal favourite is the design from 1997-99 and to be honest I am not so keen on this seasons design.

Be good to hear what is other people favourite ICT shirt over the years.

  3. Landing at newcastle airport at 12 noon (volcano's permitting) following a 24 hour flight from Oz but hoping I can stay awake and drive to Ayr in time for 3pm kick off. It will be my first game of the season - got my tickets for the Dundee game too.

    Fingers crossed for that Volcano!

  4. Arrgh,

I just tried to buy one and it wont let me send it anywhere but my billing address, i.e. Australia. is there anyway I can pay by a different method and still get it beiore the 15th may to a UK address?

  5. So if they are arriving with ed waiter on the 24th April approx, how soon will you get them out to people. The reason I ask is that I like to get mine whilst still in the UK, i.e before I head back to Oz on May 15th?

I just dont trust the post between the UK and Oz, plus I am sure it will cost more to have it sent over there!

    Ta.

  6. Had thought about this quite a bit now, and my own thoughts were largely the same as the majority. The first lower league team to beat Celtic on their own patch, with a Highland league origin level of players. Shock waves was one description, it was Tsunami proportions that went throughout the world. Yeah it was an out of form Celtic team with some pretty decent players and a lot of international caps amongst them.

County have done the same, against an out of form Celtic, with a few good, to very good players. But they did it on the national platform, BUT it only sent ripples around Britain, not Europe or the world - apart from the Celtic world. This was partly due to the previous defeats by lower level teams that Celtic have now suffered.

However, I did hear Neil Lennon say in an interview that from a Celtic point of view the defeat in Inverness was the biggest achievement, as that was against a well oiled, winning mentality, full of internationals, great Celtic team. One which goes down in history for all the right reasons, not the wrong ones. Considering it was against a very successful manager, with a team of god knows how many international caps for big countries.

So I will go with the ginger whingers opinion on what has been the biggest achievement

INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE 1 ( DENNIS WYNESS ) GLASGOW CELTIC 0.

a lot of our players that night also played in the Parkheid game too, so double whammy

Eh, actually it did make it onto the sport section of our evening news here in Oz so it did make it around the world although not as big and the ICT win in 2000.

Still think the ICT win was bigger as it was the first and it was against a far better Celtic team.

  7. I have always loved the competitveness of the 1st Div especially as its the hardest division to get out of but love the fact that SPL games get more coverage here in Oz and therefore I actually sometimes get to see ICT play.

  8. Hi,

I was wondering if there were any other ICT fans down Under in Oz? If so I reckon we should get an Aussie branch of the supportes club up and running if there is enough interest.

I currently live in brisbane and I am heading back to Scotland for 3 weeks at the end of April and hope to get to the Dundee game at the end of the season.

Love the new highlights section on the club website - great for those of us overseas.

Be great to hear from any fellow supporters down under.

  9. Dont know if any of you read gavin strachans (Gordons son) blog on the bbc wesbite but it is first class. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/gavinstrachan/

Well the most recent blog is all about chants at footie grounds and I was wondering what songs get sung at Caley stadium? As I now live in Oz I dont get there often (or at all lately) so can anyone tell me any classic caley Thistle songs?

I dont know if this has been discussed elsewhere on this site - apologies if it has.
