  1. The fact that Ann Budge is anywhere near this committee is, no matter which club you support, just plain wrong.

Scottish football continues digging the hole.............................

Really hope they get their arses sued................................don't care who by.

  2. Scottish football does seem to attract an especially incompetent and self serving type : both at an authority and club level (ICT excepted naturally).

Along with the broadcasters and pundits : caught a wee bit of sportsound or whatever was on this afternoon : 100% garbage talked. Switched off after 5 minutes cringeworthy garbage.

  3. Doesn't matter who has /hasn't voted : if 5pm is deadline then go on basis of those who vote by that time. Those who haven't met the deadline assumed to be in favour (assume they haven't thought of such a scenario................................).

Not specifically related, but last season's Semi Finals is up on YouTube for anyone who cares.

Won't bother thanks. We were never in the game : all we were doing was trying to stop Hearts scoring. Worst ever performance in a 'big match' by miles (and I've been at them all).

  5. Yup, very tricky situation for the footie authorities. Will be v interesting to see how they propose to resolve  matters (realistically no way the season will be able to finish north or south of the border).

Can very much see challenges  / legal actions following.........................

Great ideas but unlikely to happen. Those in charge will bend over for the Ugly Pair and Sky Tv. If there’s not 4 games a season for them to televise they won’t even consider it.

On reading the article, the 4 Cellic / Rankers matches would still take place?

But agree unlikely to happen. Too many vested interests. The current set up doesn't allow enough movement between leagues (especially between Premiership and championship). Far too difficult for the smaller clubs to achieve promotion (the premiership / championship play offs are weighted heavily in favour of the 11th placed top league team).

  7. We were outplayed by a part time team. They were more organised, moved the ball so much better and quicker than us and merited the win.  Why we persist in playing the ball through the air  (both short and long) beats me : it just doesn't work (especially in windy conditions as there were yesterday)

We had a couple of decent chances but they could have scored 4 or 5.

    'Poor' would flatter us.

  8. Well done to the team : keep plugging away and secure that runner up spot. Utd are not that great but they're not going to collapse.

Really fancy our chances in the play offs.

  9. Sounds as if we have acquitted ourselves well but sadly no shock.

Let's now concentrate on getting second in the league and have a real go at getting up via the play offs. Other than D Utd, no one to fear in the championship and over 2 legs against 11th in the premiership we'll be in with a fighting chance.

Dire match day experience dire on field footy. Overall dire going to the stadium why do folk expect the crowd to get larger. Transfer window a joke. Manager who persists playing a striker who cant score. Players leaving in droves. Club will not survive the summer transfer window. Senior players will leave. Part time football beckons.

Agree (although have not been to that many games since leaving Inverness).

ICT used to be a good team to watch and were was always in with a shout of scoring / getting one over on any team, No longer seems to be the case (given my experience over the last 4/5 years). Maybe that is a commentary on Scottish football in general. A lack of creativity seems to be the main problem.

Frustrating we can't seem to take advantage when teams around us drop points. Essential we finish second and hope Hearts don't finish 11th in the premiership!

I think whilst we were on the end of some pretty debatable calls from the referee, Ayr were the better team throughout the 90 minutes and deserved the win. Kerr seemed to set Ayr up a bit more defensively than previous match ups and they let us carry the ball forward with little pressure but we were swarmed as we entered the Ayr half and forced to thread balls through a well organised Ayr midfield and defence (which we couldn't do) or try and dink a ball up to White and later Todorov (which we also couldn't do).

When Ayr seized the ball they broke with real pace and direction quickly feeding the ball wide to Forrest or Moffat on the flanks or looking to play a pass in behind the ICT centre backs and a lot of their good chances game from this. Only a triple block / save combination from McHattie and Ridgers stopped Ayr opening the scoring in the first half which saw wave after wave of attacks threaten the ICT rearguard. Fortunately we held them off and had the ball in the net when Keatings lifted a free kick in for White who beat Doohan to the ball and flicked it in but the referee gave a free kick for a foul by White. Seemed pretty soft but it would have been hard on Ayr had we gone ahead (though thoroughly pleasing obviously).

Second half and there seemed to be a strong claim for a penalty when Doran broke into the box and looked like he was pushed in the back sending him to the ground but the referee waved play on. Not long after this Ayr scored. I didn't see what happened but after I had stopped admiring my new trainers I looked up to see Trafford on his arse and Kelly seizing on a loose ball, heading for goal before calmly slotting past Ridgers. No more than Ayr deserved in fairness but frustrating nonetheless from an ICT point of view.

Ayr had more chances after this to extend their lead before Doran went down under another challenge however this time he got straight back up to chase the ball before Aitken blew for a foul and cautioned Doran for diving which seemed a bit odd given he didn't seem to be looking for anything. We went with 2 strikers for the final few minutes with Todorov coming on to partner White but we didn't really create anything of note until the final kick of the game when Ayr threw bodies to block a couple of ICT efforts from close range  (these might even have been our only shots on target...).

Bizarre to see us end the game with a couple of big lads up front and our two best crossers of the ball on the wings yet we persevered with little dinked balls up towards White and Todorov which almost never found them. Any ICT fan not bothered about losing Donaldson AND McCart should be worried after today's defensive showing. Whilst McHattie was solid enough Mckay with the ball at his feet was an absolute bombscare. Vincent was decent for us, possibly closest to ICT MotM. Kerr and Moffat looked good for Ayr and Drinan really gave Mckay and McHattie a torrid time.

We have a real battle on to maintain second spot which could be huge come the end of the season...

Until we gather a bit of consistency, it is always going to be a struggle. A few weeks ago, it looked as if we were virtually nailed on for second spot, but now it's not looking so positive. The team must start winning more matches and gain a bit of momentum which would stand us in good stead in the play offs.

  12. Need to start winning consistently and ensure we get 2nd place which significantly improves our play off chances.

Hope Hearts improve as can't see us beating them to the title should we stay in the Championship next year.

3-0 and could easily have been worse. We know where we can find decent part-time footballers with passion for next season. We were an absolute shambles. No-one in our team seemed to care much. Oh for a Gary Warren or Graeme Shinnie. Our players should hang their heads in shame. Our travelling fans who sang their hearts out should get their travel money back.

Spot on : could add so much more but little point. So depressing how far we have fallen in such a short period.

  14. Let's not jump the gun folks.

We've made a solid start to the season and on present form no reason we can't put Utd under pressure.

Even if they end up winning the league no reason we can't finish second : I would fancy us against any team finishing second bottom of the top league (albeit we would have to win the 2nd/3rd 'semi final' first.

Just keep racking up wins so the team gain a winning mentality.

  15. Great result ............................ as long as we kick on from this.

The Arabs will be tough to keep up with but if we can start knocking in a few goals who knows? Hopefully last night's result will instil a bit of confidence in the whole team. First half was pretty uninspiring although we just about deserved to be ahead at the break and once we scored the second we seemed to grow in confidence.

No reason we can't finish second (being realistic) although I would just love us to edge out Utd (especially after last season)
