  1. My colleague is part-owner of The Vintage at Drygate in Duke Street, Glasgow - a great venue with a beer hall serving a wide range of craft beers and good food.

If anyone organising coaches (or indeed cars or pedestrians!) is still looking for a lunch stop then this venue can accommodate hundreds, has plenty on-site coach parking and is a short drive from Hampden. They're open anyway but will designate themselves an ICT venue and gear up accordingly if there is enough interest and they get some advance notice.

Let me know if you're looking for somewhere with good food and drink. Details at http://drygate.com/the-vintage/

  2. I cannot believe this - the club will surely contest it.

If this results in Josh being suspended then there will be dozens of similar investigations every single week. Any potential denial of a goal scoring opportunity not spotted or dealt with properly by the referee could be investigated. For starters "Why was Zaluska not penalised for punching Eddie in the back of the head?" and 'Why did the referee instruct the Celtic wall to stand just 8m from the ball for our free kick?"

What punishment will be given to the three officials who failed to do their job properly in the first place?

It's an absolute joke but no surprise coming from the SFA who couldn't run a bath.

  3. Does anyone know what the two blokes sitting behind each goal at the cup final were meant to be doing?

They had 'pitch control' or something similar on the back of their HiVis jackets, were sitting on fold out stools, one behind each post, and seemed to be watching the posts....or the grass....

    Best guesses so far:

Although they didn't look particularly fast or fit they were there to stop/tackle streakers?

Make sure no-one nicks the goalposts during the game?

Goalposts recently painted and had to make sure no-one leaned against them and got paint all over their Sunday best?

There to break up any fights?

Give the impression that it's a European match with extra 'officials' behind the goal?

Any help on solving this mystery greatly welcome!

  4. Unfortunately my old school (Millburn Academy) is unable to find 4 teachers that are able to escort 40 kids to the final so have had to decline my offer. If anyone out there has contacts at another school that can organise this then I'm still offering to pay for 40 under 16s and 4 adults (train and match tickets). Let me know asap while there are still train tickets left.

  5. It does seem odd to me that it is so difficult to get buses organised. Is this because of a physical shortage of buses or are the bus companies are trying to cash in and overcharge? If this is the case then shame on them.

I do agree that if people have an easy and definite travel option then they're much more likely to commit to going.

  6. It appears that only 3,500 tickets have been sold so far which to me seems disappointing - only 700 per day on what you would expect to be the busiest days for selling tickets. If we can't get people to support the team now then we never will.

I have a business in the central belt and will happily contribute £1,000 to pay for train and match tickets for 40 school kids and 4 adults. I've been in touch with my old school this morning to organise this.

Surely there must be hundreds of similar businesses around (or with a link to) Inverness that could do the same?

If 50 companies did this then that's another 2,000 youngsters, some of whom just might get hooked on supporting the team. Being in the central belt I'm not connected in the Inverness business community but if anyone does have business contacts can you suggest to them that they do the same?
