  1. Dougal,

totally totally irrelevant post, adds nothing to the debate and is just ........ words just fail me.

Utter pish would be the words to sum up that performance today I don't recall seeing a poorer defensive performance ever from an ICT back four

Possibly the worst ever Orc team to set foot in TCS and to be played off the park like the way we did was a total embarrassment

Can't believe no one has mentioned this but did anyone at the game or watching it on Sky see the sickening scenes I saw as our management team waited for McCoist/Durrant/McDowell and co emerge from the tunnel before the game?

A simple hand shake should have been sufficient but what we got was basically a cringeworthy hugfest which I found quite insulting to the ICT fans who had the misfortune to witness it

Rangers were fragile today and all this pandering niceties should have happened within the stand if they even had to happen at all and not in full view of the paying punter

The fact that Tokely never made it off the bench certainly backs up this alleged rift anyone got more info?

Seems strange you would repost it then, so totally totally irrelevant that you felt the need to make us all read it again?

Sometimes I read these forums and shake my head in disbelief at the bullying culture amongst some members. If someone, such as Dougal, puts forth their views in contradiction to a certain group of posters then the knives are drawn and the attack is on, like a shoal of hungry piranha. If Dougal is a troll then he will be loving you lot, if he is a normal poster with some out there views then a lot of you need to take a good look at yourselves.

  2. Meanwhile...back on topic.

Anyone going to the game that might not have done without the above offer?

(Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...."Rangers Fans in Home End"....there you go, that's that one covered, so no need for it to be repeated)

Some Rangers fans don't need cheap tickets, they get them for the home end for free

Found these words of on a Rangers ticket forum

    ,

"im sitting in the home end.... sad.gif

got that ticket free though! "

    How does that work?

    It's Craig Whyte.

  3. Unless free speech is now outlawed in the U.K. or anywhere else, then any member of the public, whether a supporter of ICT or not, has the right to send and email or letter, or by other means of contact, to Bodies such as a compliance officer of any organisation to express his opinion on anything.

Whether he/she influences anyone to change a ruling or decision on matters such as this. or even gets the courtesy of a reply, surely depends on whether or not he or she has couched the letter in non-abusive, legal-type language and whether the recipient has, or has not, got the good manners to reply.

Attacking the Moderators in this way is meaningless and achieves nothing of value because every poster on here at this time knows, or should know, that they do an excellent job of controlling posts and opinions from many different types of member across a wide spectrum of latitude.

Without in any way trying to deny Marks his right to expression on here most of this has now degenerated into close-to farcical nonsense and seems to be more of an attempt at self-justfication rather than a genuine attempt to address the main question. This thread has, imho , been done to death and I encourage Marks to write to the Compliance officer immediately and let us know when he gets a reply.

If I did write to the compliance officer I would no doubt deservedly have gotten the same short shrift as the last time I e.mailed people who had any modicum of power. They too got piddled off with inane rubbish sent to them through the interweb, you see it is all relative, mailing people in power no matter where or who they are allows them to wield that power and when it really has nothing to do with the initiator of the conversation or when the conversation is full of irrelevant twaddle then you get the same response.

Planting the idea for for football fans to start Twitter campaigns or e.bomb compliance people is really a dickish thing to do except that putting ideas in other people's minds keeps the instigator anonymous from the proceedings and those dumb enough to follow through end up looking bad.

Not a WUM, just prepared to out the fools.

  4. Strnge that this should be relegated to anything goes yet that dumb GTFCTO production thread is allowed to remain, surely this has more relevance to ICT footballing matters.

Do you mean the GTWB Productions thread? If you do, then I am sure it won't be too long before you acquire a fuller understanding of the traditions of CTO.

IHE's GTWB Production is as much part of CTO over the Festive Season as cranberry jelly, sprouts, stuffing and roast potatoes are part of a turkey dinner or Jimmy Nairn's Disneyland was part of the Yuletide Playhouse cafe. GTWB (*) is a veritable CTO institution - indeed as much so as the annual "Memories of Olde Sneck" thread which also used to command a place on the main forum but actually did not appear this year, possibly because it has lately become an all year round institution with its own dedicated forum.

GTWB fully deserves its place on the most popular section of this forum not only because of its legendary status but also (and I trust you noticed this when you read through it) its constant references to a multitude of regular posters as well as to ICT's early and pre history, culminating as it does in a Caley v Jags final.

On the other hand, maybe Mainstander's option B and Mantis' comment (above) help to explain why the Mods appear to have taken the view that this thread should be moved to General Nonsense.

(*)- just in case you're not sure what GTWB stands for, it's Granville, Toich and Willie Bell who are all Inverness institutions of the mid/latter part of the 20th century. The first had an intense interest in Animal Husbandry (sic) although tended to go into denial of that in the courtroom. The second was a well known lunatic of this parish while the third once allegedly had a plot under his kilt to blow up pylons in the name of militant Scottish Republicanism.

All would also have been known professionally, if not to IHE, then at least to his father and to his colleague my psychiatrist uncle.

The issue is not whether or not Granville and mates should stay in the forum I have no problem with a bit of light hearted comedy the issue is why has this thread been moved when none of the original post breaches the site rules.

  5. Strnge that this should be relegated to anything goes yet that dumb GTFCTO production thread is allowed to remain, surely this has more relevance to ICT footballing matters.

I don't find it strange. The other thread is funny, entertaining and a tradition on this forum. Your thread is not and you should thank whoever moved it for saving you the embarrassment of looking like a [offensive comment removed] on the main forum.

And there lies my point. There are people looking like dicks by sending referees tweets with video attached, there are people calling for fans to contact the SFA's compliance officer over a tackle which looks like primary school stuff in comparison to some of Ross Tokely's, there are people e-mailing the club to demand answers on irrelevant matters and when this is pointed out the admin and their erselickers round like shoaling piranha to tear any dissenters apart, there's nothing like a bit of mob rule. My thread here is not only relevant to the forum in which it was placed, it has also shown the CTO branch of the ICT support to be exactly what everyone I have talked to at matches claims it to be.

  6. and he agrees with me. There is something weird going on down in the bowels of the SFA. ICT have not managed to win one penalty in the SPL for one whole calendar year, referees are "missing" fouls on our players which could quite easily have crippled them and seen them turning out for the amputee paralympic team, despite the fact that the player still managed to finish the match.

I put it to you this is not just because we are missing the odd wee drop in the box from the likes of Munro or Rooney and Johnny Hayes being out injured for so long, this is because there is some weird conspiracy going on.

My wee Celtic supporting chum has given me some sound advice, he reckons we could claim that since the Highlands is such a hotbed of native gaelic speakers we could claim the racism card, seeing as how the Gaelic language arrived on our shores through Ireland we must all have originated from their at some point in our ancestry. He reckons too that we should start a twatter campaign against any referee who annoys us, send him videos which are slowed right down for maximum effect, perhaps do our Highland march from our last home game to Hampden to demand changes and force the refs into striking as that will give more publicity to our cause. We could even start e.bombing random arbitrary bodies with any thing which we deem to be unsporting or even downright unjust.

We can do it guys, we can emulate the "best supporters in the world" who is with me?

  7. CaleyD I have no issue with site rules or common decency, I was just passing my own comment. There is really no big issue here other than our fans starting to sound like Celtic fans who jump at every little thing and get their cyber offended hats on before emailing every governing body available on a Google search.

The issue is not whether or not you called the club but why did you feel the need to contact them in the first place? If you get an answer stating that no the club have not contacted the Compliance officer then what do you gain from such a reply and does it make any difference to the discussion? You say you are in agreement that if the club do not deem it necessary to push the matter then I see no reason for contacting them at all, unless you wished to give the stirrers a little more reason to go stirring.

  8. Our terms of service dont make use of IQ levels as a membership factor so if "the idiots amongst us" (your words, not mine), want to follow through then so be it .... not our problem, not our fault, and we are not going to stifle this or any other decent discussion that comes along on the basis that it might cause stupid people to do stupid things !!!!

I happen to think most of our fans are relatively intelligent -- they do follow ICT instead of other teams after all - but if the people you are labelling with that brush are truly idiots then the eloquence of their complaint will surely see them get short shrift from the beaks !

For my own part, I am not going to be writing any letters, I am way too busy for that .... but I do hope the compliance folk look at it, and I would actually agree that the best course of action is for the club and the player to make a complaint if they want to ....... or for us all to let it go if they think its a storm in a teacup.

Again you are correct that most of our fans are intelligent and you would be correct to assume that any idiots or fools should stand out especially if the aggrieved party feels there is no need for further action and if the aggrieved party did feel that way and made a complaint then surely that would be warrant enough to at least look at the incident making anyone else's complaint look like nothing more than malicious stirring.

  9. I'd be interested to know if clubs (ICT or others) have ever refer any such incidents. It's considered unsporting behaviour to try to get an opponent red carded during a match, so to do it after the event, when it is too late to have any possible bearing on the outcome of the match, would seem even more unsporting, wouldn't it?

Oh and it looks to me like O'Hanlon isn't the only person to go in studs up and miss the ball completely......

I totally agree it is unsporting and it makes one look like an idiot, it therefore surprises me that you, given this stance, would broach the subject of fans making themselves look the same way.

  10. Oh come on, to tell a forum full of football supporters that they have the power to force an investigation on someone is inviting the idiots amongst us to follow through. I agree that it was a bad tackle and I will go further and say that if Foran or his bosses feel that it merits an investigation then by all means they are in a far better position to do so and would also add that if they do not feel the need then it is not really up to others to force it.

Yngwie you are as bad for suggesting it, why not look up the rules yourself and write to the compliance committee instead of trying to get the less intelligent amongst your readership to do your dirty work?

EDIT okay Scotty, I'll call you out, why even mention the possibility when intelligent people know that the internet can stir up a sh*tstorm at the click of a button? Agitation does not need to be called for directly, a well placed idea can be far more effective than a direct call for action.

  11. Letters to the compliance committee? Members of the public drawing attention to happenings on the park? Leave it to the club for pity's sake, talk about the lunatics running the asylum. I note that the rules of this forum do not tolerate mob rule, why then is one of the administrators encouraging similar actions towards another organisation?

  12. No point being scared of going to Parkhead for the fear of losing. Go for it. we've won there before. Drawn before when 2 behind. They have good players true but their no invinvibles.

    - Esson -

    - Piermayr - Tokely - Hogg - Gillet -

    - Tansey - Davis - Foran -

    - Hayes - Tade - A.Shinnie -

Subs: Tuffey; Meekings, Proctor, Cox, G.Shinnie, Morrison, Sutherland.

The players want to play 4-3-3 and are comfortable doing so, so let them. Shinnie and Hayes can always drop back and leave Tade on his own to chase loose balls up front if required. I'd take Piemayr over Meekings as he just seems to have that bit more experience. Bench more or less picks itself at the moment.

If all those you list are going to Parkhead then who's left at home to play Celtic.

If you are going to pick up on someone missing the obvious then surely it would have been a bigger impact if you had picked up on the phrase "for the fear of losing" I mean really, who fears losing to Celtic these days? Everyone knows that any team in the league are capable of taking points from Celtic this season.
