  1. The very least that can be said is that, for whatever reason, the manager is not getting the best out of the players - or even anywhere near their best - and hasn't done for some time.

Well, let's look on the bright side - you can get 300/1 on us getting tonked 6-0 on Saturday

If, as a manager, you are lucky to lose a game by only 6 goals - as happened in our last match - you have to expect criticism and questions asked. To paraphrase Yogi, there is no room for 'shrinking violets' in football management. It's a results-based business and every manager knows that. All the talk, all the promises, all the cliches, don't matter a bean compared to the results column on the next day's back pages.

Yeah - like your choice of Scotch; too narrow! Much better going for a more expansive Highland malt...

Would be interesting to see what the Hibs board would do if they go down.

I too really want Hughes to succeed - if he's learnt from Dungwall that's to his credit. But some people on here seem to resent any view that doesn't reflect unqualified support. What's a forum for? Surely any manager would expect fans to discuss his tactics and performance, give praise where due and criticism likewise. And yes Absent Friend, he was under pressure - those boos against Motherwell weren't for the players.

Let's keep this in perspective. I'm prepared to give Hughes credit for selecting a team that did the business last night. Mackay said in his interview that it was Doran and Watkins, and the width and pace they gave, that helped him play his own game. But would he have played those two if Draper had been fit? And Foran as well? Was there an instruction from the Board to respond to the boos against Motherwell, and revert to a system that works for us? We shall see what happens after the break. Hughes has made it clear in the past that wingers don't feature in his preferred way of playing - so has last night's performance 'educated' him?
  9. Doran's goal was absolutely fantastic! Billly's finish was class - I reckon it was a pen anyway, came off his hand, but no matter. I thought Watkins was excellent- not only going forward but also tracking back to areas normally covered by Draper. We didn't miss the big man as I thought we might. If we keep this system, we've got a chance of catching Dundee.
  10. It woz the wingers that won it for us tonight!! and a good finish from the maestro. And a good performance from everyone else. Well done lads!

  13. On top of everything else, our club is now being exposed to ridicule and made a laughing stock. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26877820 How long are the Board going to stand for this? is this what they bought at the interview? Just wait for the Barca chants at our next game at Parkhead ! It really is beyond belief

The only possible subject that Hughes could educate anyone about is the A-Z of crap football cliches

    Who does he play for?

The 'educating' remark was crass and arrogant. Laughing after the defeat was shameful - the players bust a gut to try and get a result.

I'm interested in how Kenny C and the Board will respond to all this. Are they going to keep their heads down for the rest of the season, and hope against hope that things change - despite what they can see with their own eyes? Even if one or two results go our way, who in their right mind would pay to watch that style of football? The fact that most of our players are signed up won't stop clubs coming in for them. I could see Ross, Doran, Watkins, Williams, playing elsewhere next season unless there's a change. Why, if you're a winger, would you want to stay and play for a manager who doesn't believe in playing wingers? And Mckay as well - it's so bleeding obvious that the service to him has dried up because of this attitude and style of play. Why's he going to want to stay?

Why not Richie Foran as player/interim manager?
  23. Post-match interview was a disgrace. Enough is enough.

    Bring back Big Dunc

Hughes doesn't believe in wingers - so we can assume our wingers - Doran, Watkins, Williams - will be going at the end of the season
