  1. Maybe I'm too old and cynical. Vigurs arrives , Christie for sale signs go up and the spin is he can only go if he comes back on loan (so that's the starting position for bid negotiations)  or the other scenario is everybody is skint so the whiff of a news story gets blown out proportion.  E.g celtic sign championship player  for buttons sensation! In answer to the question nothing. One more season and retaining the cup. Forget the money that'll just disappear but the memories will last longer.

  2. 2 very good saves from fon Williams tonight. C'mon Dani Lopez we need to see something from you. We actually played not bad tonight. Best game I've seen Lewis Horner have, he was unlucky to be subbed. Iain Vigurs definately added something - nearly great free kick and clever ball over top to mutombo at the death. Another point collected still early days!

  3. I think we didn't like him because he was quite good against us and enjoyed proving a point. Can't blame him - he was let go after all. Let's move on. But I'm a little worried that there's still time for some selling business to follow this!

  4. We keep the ball well (most of the time). We look like we're only going to lose goals when we shoot ourselves in the foot and if we stay clear of inju....oh oh hang on :-)

    Survival it is then.

  5. Pretty harsh sharing that halfway through 1st game of season. Everyone is forgetting that it was only a 1-0 defeat. We weren't hammered just had a poor game against a team who pressed at right times and sat in a lot.

  6. Not a good start and it showed up our lack of strength in depth at the moment. Crowd got a bit rattled in second half when at one point we had five players in our own half passing the ball sideways (six if you include goalie). But as has been noted above Motherwell were sitting in because at that same time they had a clear 4-5-1 in their half just waiting to thwart our next forward move. Sometimes our passing was a bit wayward. One game doesn't make a season though.

  7. Still lacking that forward zip in final third.  Richie took his goal well and Nairn keeper had a good double save to stop him getting a 2nd late on. The striker trialist appeared to have a bit of pace, a half decent first touch and some clever distribution after receiving ball - never looked like scoring though. We appear to have come through this casualty free.

  8. I wasn't sure when this dubious "holiday" story emerged and resorted to Google, which threw up usual trash stories but also very positive pre cup win press cuttings, think it was from the courier, when he was talking up Yogi and his approach. Sounded like he got a buzz from Yogi's intensity as a manager. As a player he has also played at top level so should command some respect from our squad. Assistant is always managers choice so I'm happy enough.  IMO Football recruitment is all about contacts so if he has all the coaching badges and knows the boss fair play to him. If he helps keep us in top division without a play off.  Job done.

  9. As long as we gasp en masse when one of our own players misses a lunge rather than roar him on to get stuck in we'll struggle. Sometimes I think we get our own players brought to attention of ref. Hate being this quiet fairminded folk. I want us to win foul or fair.

  10. "500 highlanders in Romanian ticket scam shocker"...starting to worry we have a headline coming our way.  Anyone know which pubs the touts will be in?

  11. Pass left, pass left, pass right, pass right, wee pass forward, pass back, pass left, pass right, pass left, slack pass, win ball back, repeat. Sometimes I just want someone to blooter the bloody thing towards goal. That said if we keep ball like that against astra and with full strength line up to cut some slack passes I'm hopeful.
