How have you heard of them then? Are they on MFR a lot?
I wasn't actually impressed when I first heard them, thought they were a bit amateurish and in truth two of them were really wedding/ceilidh band standard, but I think Boydie has brought everything to a new level.
I've still not managed to see them but I've got the Barrowlands concert recorded and there's a documentary from 2020 called "That's the Way We Do It". I suppose it's the Lewis connections as a lot of people won't get the in-jokes or the wee snippets of Gaelic in the lyrics, although they went down a storm at Glastonbury and other English gigs where nobody had a clue so just made up their own words 😂

Apparently Boydie now lives in Inverness and is known to frequent some pubs in town.

Going to see Duncan Chisholm at the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on Sunday. His premiere of Black Cuillin at Celtic Connections was amazing. 15 on stage including 8 piece string section

Duncan Chisholm in Julie Fowlis’s band at The Gathering yesterday.

It’s looking like a central belter in goals

It’s such a pity Cammy’s not getting his opportunity to make the no1 shirt his own in the new season.

Kelty no doubt a major factor in his thinking.

  4. Spent yesterday at The Gathering. It was at the Bucht due to the work at the Northern Meeting Park, and used a surprisingly small section, albeit there must have been upwards of 5000 there. The bar and catering worked well though.

Highlights were Torridon (despite being Staggies), Trail West and headliners Skerryvore.

    The weather was amazing.

One of the many interesting revelations in the RM interview on the pod was that an  receipt of about £300,000 expected in April had not come in yet (did I catch that right?).  What could that be? The only sums of that magnitude I can think of would be monies from the football authorities, a transfer fee or sell on clause from another club, or perhaps a tax/VAT refund but I’m not sure what could have given rise to that, or any of them really. Any ideas?

I understand that was the first payment for renting the car park out to the hydro facility, but it’s been delayed (rumoured to be as the Council want the club to apply for planning permission to have it used as a car park for that rather than just for events at the stadium).

The Courier has picked up on the financial implications of fans not renewing season tickets:

We might set a new record for the Group stage with goals conceded. Currently no news on how the few contracted players have responded to the Kelty change to their contracts. No news about new signings other than a lot of central based players are were being lined up to wear the once famous ICT strip if they can train in Fife.

This article sums it up, and confirms the 9 currently contracted for next season:

  8. I’m away on business so missing the meeting tonight, which I hope is going well.

The Chairman and Board want inspiration. They could learn from this:

    https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/24349534.north-lanarkshire-based-football-club-receive-american-investment/

With our location and heritage, we should have much greater appeal than a Lanarkshire club to overseas romantics.

But, as Scotty has so eloquently outlined above, it’s not the CEO’s idea so……

  9. Has anyone managed to keep track of the ownership of items that could be deemed to be assets of the club, and of how the company structure fits together?

In recent times we’ve been told the club owns the ground, car parks, the land for lease next to the North Car Park and the Battery Farm site.

I’m unclear as to what the assets would actually be in the event of the club going into administration, or therefore what options there may be for any “white knight” coming in to rescue things (if only there was one!).

Anyone got a decent understanding of it all?

  10. I just wonder what the next bombshell will be, as the club statement on Friday started with:

“As one major part of our planned strategic restructure of the club, ICTFC are delighted to announce an innovative agreement…”

Anyone got thoughts as to what other hair brain ideas there may be that have not been shared with fans?

Also, whilst it is unlikely there will be much take up, we must be due to get the season ticket prices and bands soon.

    Will prices be reduced?

Will the feedback from the Supporters Trust and fans about the reintroduction of the 16-25 age band have been listened to?

Or will rates be increased despite relegation?

No doubt we will know by early June!

  11. 7 pages of comments in only 9 hours and not a match in sight!

That sums up the strength of feeling over this ill thought out, insane decision.

A club has to be in its community, otherwise there can be no engagement and support will wither (or whatever support is left after recent diabolical decisions and performances).

I’m struggling with how this benefits the finances.

Surely we’d be better to capitalise on the products of our Academy along with experienced players who are happy to be in the area? We might not bounce back right away but the passion would be restored and the fans would get behind local youngsters.

This is a decision made by people who don’t understand the area we are in, and who have totally misread the mood of fans, and it is a total disgrace that everyone involved should be ashamed of.

To me, this is much worse than relegation and I’d rather have seen us go to a Cove model of hybrid full and part time than this.

    A very sad day.

  12. Thanks for doing this all season and a well deserved winner.

It is such a shame that the club did not do awards this season as I suspect Cammy would have been the fans’ choice so he’s been deprived of that glory.
