  1. A few shots from one of the towers of the Kessock Bridge. (click on image to sharpen.)
  2. I didn't want to identify it right away.......there must be some Ross County supporters reading this Forum?
  3. This is it when I photographed it in 1984.
  4. Aye, I noticed that only recently myself. It's annoying when the piccies don't show as sharp as the original.
  5. You've just brought back my memory of the steepness of that brae! One Saturday morning, I was standing-in for a friend of mine who was the message-boy for a butcher's shop in Church Street, at the corner of Fraser Street - would it have been the Co-op? I reported for work at 0700 and filled up the basket on the bike with the orders of mince and sausages etc. and set off up Church Street headed for the Hill district. When I came to Hetty's at the foot of the brae I stopped and began the long push. Being only 13 or 14, I could only manage to push a few yards at a time and had to apply the brakes to stop the bike running back. Eventually, I reached the top and continued around the customers' houses. The afternoon shift was the same, this time up to Hilton. One of the longest days of my life. Just made it back to the shop at 1800 to collect my wages and a large bundle of sausages wrapped in a brown paper bag! I also had a fair amount of shillings from the customers to take the edge of the tiredness.
  6. I stand corrected.......it also had, sort of..... "fin tails"?
  7. "The yellow car (#114) fancies its chances on the inside of the Rover(?)"....... ...and over it goes!!!
  8. IIRC.....the mechanic with the black hair and sideboards, standing beside car #60, could be Innes MacKenzie from Caledonian Road.......anyone confirm?

  10. One of "Q's" earlier prototypes for Mr. Bond, cunningly designed to avoid attraction?
  11. I haven't looked at these photos since I took them over forty years ago and just noticed the irony of the advert for Michelin tyres in the second pic!
  12. Might "K16" be a mini? It looks smaller than the others. Is that a transverse engine I'm seeing?
  13. Aye, it was held in a Mulbuie crofter's field adjoining the road which runs from the Leanaig crossroads to Muir of Ord.
  14. I've come across some photos I took at the stock car racing in September 1973 and thought I would share them with you. Perhaps you may recognise someone? (May be the ultimate test for IBM to figure out which make the cars were when they were road-legal?)
  15. I thought I would just finish this sequence of photos of our Town centre with a few straightforward shots.(November 4 1981) Union Street. Corner of Academy Street and Union Street.
  16. Now you two have drawn my attention to her........did that lady work in the Council Offices?
