Do you think we could have attracted a player of his calibre if he hadn't been looking to play regular 1st team football?
I'm sorry to see him go, maybe not the quickest but an intelligent player who would have veen a big asset this season.
All the best, Kev
We cant really comment on his pace or his intelligence due to the fact he didnt really play for us did he?
-
Perhaps your correct and i was slightly harsh in my original posting so i apologise for that, but he didnt actually offer us anything and came with a history of injury problems if you look at his previous 3 seasons, 11 appearances in 3 years, it was never going to end well was it?

Football has moved on significantly since he was last here, does he have the contacts? Is Donald Park coming back with him?

Oh well, let's just all make him a failure before he get's his chance. I seem to remember a Mr Foran was a welcome and mostly popular choice before the start of last season. That went well.
Anyway, it's reassuring to know that we have so many experts on the forum able to make these judgements.
Come on Manny, its hardly an inspired appointment is it? What exactly has he done since he left us? Last club East Fife in 2012.

John Hughes got us into Europe lets get him back and all. Robertson hasn't been in charge of a team in years and possibly hasn't worked at a full time club in over ten years. He's had zero success since he left us.
Some of the names banded about recently have been brutal. A bunch of ex ICT players and managers for seemingly no other reason than they used to play or manage us.
An absolute minter of an appointment. This
Just when you thought the ICT board couldnt make a bigger mess of it all we get this.
Its the gift that just keeps giving

Really? when was Robbo last in charge of a club ? 2012 with East Fife?
nah underwhelmed is an understatment

I see Ian Black has been released by Blackpool. Wonder where he will end up next. Hope it is not with us. I think he is well past his best.
i personally think Black could do a job for us in the Championship

Can't remember ever reading a more clueless forum of fans.
We're miles up the table because Hayes and McGinn 80% of the time tear teams apart. Hayes went off early and McGinn is having his usual 3 game lull.
Draper should have been off the pitch by the time he rugby tackled Taylor in the box, which I can't fathom some people here think 'happens all the time'.
And the big streak of pish's dive (again) killed the game and any half time talk and tactics.
Someone has said the difference was you were going to do something from the incident quite possibly but it wasn't a foul in the first place ya halfwit.
And that Shinnie's wasn't a penalty too.
Draper 'bossed' the game because he got away with it from an incompetent referee.
3 goals and a man sent off worth of wrong decisions is going to kill any team's motivation and prevent them getting into the game.
Awaiting your big timmy manager rolling over to his beloved side on Saturday.
and the prize for most bitter post of the year goes to.................
played off the park, Ash Taylor was horrific.
Look forward to you trying to sign our whole team next season,

I don't think anybody has said it yet, but well done to ICT for resisting the temptation to let go of a key player in order to bring in a hefty sum of cash. Better still, just as they stood firm when Dundee Utd wanted our manager, it was good to see our Board fight tooth and nail (with perhaps a bit of hair pulling too) to resolutely fend off the raiders from the east by whatever means were possible.
It does no harm to send out a signal that we aren't the pushovers we perhaps once were.
best post yet

come on Johndo, your fishing, what do you know ?

Seems to me all the Dons have done is unsettle the player, if they wanted him they could have offered up the release clause and we could have all got on with it. D1cks
-
Aberdeen are a joke they know the price, either pay it or sod off
imagine going into tesco and asking if you can pay the price for a loaf of bread off over 3 years

Lets just hope the Chairman has another Miles Storey up his sleeve, because it seems the only succesful signing we have had in the last wee while didnt actually come through Yogi, Scarey thought
-
They are DD, but if his agent insists that the only way he will sign a new contract is if that clause is there i suspect that the club would agree to it.
at the end of the day we havent sold that many players so the club would have agreed to it.
-
DD i think generally with these type of clauses the players agents stipulate it, its of no benefit to the club to insert one of these clauses
-
if he goes and we havent got a replacement lined up then someone somewhere needs dragged into the car park and shot at dawn tomorrow morning.

Speaking in May 2014, Coventry City Academy manager Richard Stevens said that Lawton was "competitive, combative and a real aggressive midfield player" who was "a warrior and leader among men".[11] He is also able to play across the defence
