Really hoping the club show a bit of ambition and push the boat out to get the legend that is miles storey back would add a cutting edge up front specially since Austin good as he is is apparently made of balsa wood! All the best to big Warren a tremendous player over the years!

    Jeez Alan

since when was Miles Storey a Legend?

Stan - your observations were probably pretty spot on but that Caley side's quest for trophies was frustrated by Ross County under Bobby Wilson who then launched them very successfully into the SFL and by Elgin and Huntly under Steve Paterson of whom no more needs said on here. That all these sides were so good at that time 1988-94 probably also contributed to the SFL election of CT and County in 1994.

If you take a look at the Prequel chapter and Chapter 1 of Against All Odds in the revised online edition on this site, you'll find the background in more detail.

    shameless plug :-)

If it's consistant wins or supporting a team who will deliver what you are looking for from a club, perhaps you might want to support Celtic or Aberdeen?

Yes its frustrating but supporting a team means supporting them through good and bad. The real supporters do turn up, they do cheer on the team even in defeat. They also do not boo their own players or scream abuse at them which unfortunately seem to make up a substantial part of the "support" now. Just how is that supposed to lift the heads and drive them on? No wonder there is a crisis of confidence within the team. The youth team got slated for their behaviour which is unfortunate but by God, at least they supported and lifted the team and for that, they are worth 100 of every idiot who who thinks it's ok to shout abuse just because things arn't going the way they would like. They are the cancer eating through the club and causing the greatest spiral of low confidence which is greatly affecting the team. How would you feel as a player if every time you touched the ball you received a torrent of abuse or boos? FFS, Polworth scored a goal and created another yet some "fans" booed him? Sure he may have had a less then expected game but what do you want if two goals warrant that?
Just to note, Billy McKay scored 4 goals in 15 appearances, Polworth has scored 3 in 14 appearences, I don't recall anyone giving McKay a hard time? And don't get me started on Vigurs, the things I've heard fans shout because he makes one mistake or poor pass yet all the good stuff he does is ignored.

I guess it's just an Inveness thing.....?

Fans have decided that no matter what Vigurs or Polworth do then they arent good enough, they follow some of the sh1te they read on here, someone says Polworth is sh1te therefor he must be sh1te, and it doesnt matter if the lad turns up on Saturday and plays a blinder, these people will still complain he misplaced one pass. McKay on the other hand scored some goals for us once upon a time ( done sod all since he left us) and therefor is immune to the p1sh these fans dish out. Fans have their favourites who can do no wrong.

How is speaking the truth an outrageous personal slur? Pull your head out of your arse and see what has happened - a player comes off the pitch and thinks I know I will smack one of the "reputable" coaches for no reason. Having heard him from the dugout - he is not so angelic as some might think. **** me are you so stupid as to believe that Polworth was totally implicit in the scenario and Kellacher did nothing wrong? This is the problem with this club, in fact this forum, half the time the fucktards in charge are in a state of denial - it's all to do with cliques. As soon the club, and a few people on here, realise that cliques are toxic and destroy - the sooner things might actually start to get better. The club is a running ******* joke. Half the whinging and whiney ******** on here a ******* joke. Wake up and smell the coffee people. Sometimes I do feel the term Teuchter was coined for the mentality of Caley supporters and the club. It's plain ******* embarrassing.

    WOW

  6. " I don't think he will walk, as it's his team, he signed most of the players, and his reputation will take a hit"

What reputation is that? He has done nothing since he left us the first time, im not so sure Robbo has much of a reputation as a manager, and as i said on another thread, the last time he was here he had Donald Park beside,he doesnt have that this time and its clear  he is struggling.

  7. Let’s not forget that the first time around Robbo had Donald Park with him, and plenty of players from that time rated Parkie as the best coach they ever worked with. Robbo has done nothing since then and that time with Park. Maybe he was the brains? Maybe it was Park who was actually the difference ?

  8. Fact is @forresjags we are a team in a  transitional period on and off the park, we havent got a "core" of SPL players, we have pretty much got a new team, and any new team are going to take time to gel. I dont expect us to get promoted this season, i would love to be wrong on that, all these players coming in, with the exception of Baird, are younger guys who could possibly grow into a team to take us back up.

Our Team Last Saturday below  so 7 new players, 5 of whom have never played in this league before

    • 28Ridgers - New
    • 17Seedorf - New

The players we signed during the two seasons following the cup win.  I've bolded the ones who I think had a positive impact on the team.

    Owain Fôn Williams

    Jordan Roberts

    Iain Vigurs

    Ryan Williams

    Nathaniel Wedderburn

    Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo

    Liam Hughes

    Dani López

    Alex Fisher

    Tobi Sho-Silva

    Miles Storey

    Scott Boden

    Kevin McNaughton

    Henri Anier

    Jake Mulraney

    Brad McKay

    Lonsana Doumbouya

    Dean Ebbe

    Billy King

    Larnell Cole

    Jamie McCart

    Billy McKay

    Louis Laing

Doumbaya wasn't a footballer but did score some goals and Mckay didn't have the impact we wanted but did OK.  Alex Fisher did well when he played but wasn't used at all and Jordan Roberts also missed a lot of the season but looked dangerous when he did play.

A parade of utter diddies though.

we have signed some right pish in the last few seasons

  11. Caley Thistle manager John Robertson insists midfielder Ross Draper will not be sold on the cheap despite continuing interest from Highland rivals Ross County.

Staggies manager Jim McIntyre is determined to land Englishman Draper, despite failing to meet Inverness’ valuation of the midfielder with his latest bid of £80,000.

Draper has been one of Caley Jags’ most consistent performers in recent seasons, but is one of the club’s highest-earners following relegation to the Championship.

The 28-year-old has two years remaining on his contract and Robertson says Caley Jags will not be pressured into selling him.

Robertson said: “County have enquired, but their valuation of Ross is nowhere near what we think he is worth.

“He’s a big player for us. The board have factored Ross and his wage into the budget, so we are under no pressure unless it’s a very substantial bid.

“But it’s not on our radar right now. We don’t want him to go. Ross is aware of that.”

Draper has made 201 appearances for Caley Jags since joining from Macclesfield Town in 2012, and was part of the Inverness side that won the Scottish Cup two years ago.

Despite Caley Jags’ relegation from the Premiership, Robertson is confident Draper will continue to give his all for the club, and he added: “We will keep him abreast of everything that’s happening and as we saw again in our friendly against Brora Rangers on Tuesday night, his attitude is first class.

“That’s why we’re happy to keep him. If any team puts in an offer that the board feel is acceptable, it will be looked at. But right now, they are nowhere near the value we expect for Ross.

“We can’t and will never dissuade any club from making a bid for our good players.

” Ross is a very good player but unless it’s something outstanding, that we feel we can’t turn down, he won’t be going anywhere.”

  12.  There are going to be a lot of players without a club next week. could be some gems amongst them. The more towards August we get, the more chance we could snap a few up who may be out of our budget as they look for a club
