I was disappointed with his performances in his financially enhanced final season with us - like a lot of the team, however it was his attitude that set him apart from the rest.

I can see your point,  nothing being mathematically ruled out yet,  I just think we have been taking one step forward and two back for a while now. Every choice, every decision being made reactively to circumstances, chasing the promised land. I would like to have a strategy to play a certain way and players would have to fit in with that style - the youth could then have a clear path to the 1st team as their training would mirror the style of the senior team.

I'm just not sure we would be ready for a return to the top just yet.

Seeing as the past months worth of games have been pretty poor and have generated quite a lot of negative reaction and navel gazing - is it time to start thinking about rebuilding the squad with an eye on next year, as surely this years chances are beginning to look decidedly ropey.

Draper was classed as unfit on arrival at County, McKay had groin issues for some time before he was loaned to us...as for Tansey I suppose his appearance bonus that his agent 'negotiated ' meant he wouldn't want to miss too many games.

It's not all about us.

I'm sure he will be well rewarded for his time there. Do St Mirren know he's been past it for two years? 

Guess they'll see for themselves. 

After the shift he didn't put in with us in our relegation season I'd expect him to pay us to play.

Ebbe Skovdahl once made a jolly remark about statistics and their similarity to mini-skirts.

I will say one thing regarding White yesterday - he had the ball played up to him about 6 or 7 times in the first half, medium height and pace in to the body, just needs a cushion touch then a turn & pass...this was accomplished  0 times.

Obviously playing back to goal isn't his forte.

Think Dorans time might be at an end up here, lost any pace he may of had and takes forever to release the ball. Hasn't been influential at all of late.

Didn't realise it was Donaldson who sold himself with a Dobbie turn for their second, not his best moment in an ict shirt...Surely it was for McKay to do that whether he was man marked or not.

Poor, weak finishing again  apart from Walsh's 2.

For some reason in the build up to our goal 3 guys went to challenge White, leaving acres of space for us to capitalise.

I'm afraid the balance of play had begun to tip in Queens favour after we went 2 up - midfield overrun the point of dropping off and our front two just don't track back,  especially Austin.

Don't think it's really clear how perilous things were just a short while ago...getting rid of Drapers wage and banking 100k in the process made a hell of a difference. Might not seem like much but that's where we were, and are not to far on from at present.

Reality check. Out of the 10 teams in the championship we are 6th in wages for players - where are we in the league ?

Utter dross.

Couldn't raise their game two weeks in a row.

Still unable to capitalise on chances.

We scored after going two up front, but lost the midfield battle ,predictably.

Not sure where we go from here.

Regarding McHattie ,Official ictfc bio says left side of defence or midfield...makes more sense than just left back.

Not a bad move, nor is it inspiring...Not exactly a player to come on and change a game either.

Rather than goals per start, how about goals per shot, or per shot on target. 

The fact is we are creating enough to win most games comfortably - having two misfiring strikers rather than one ( whilst surrendering midfield numbers) won't help the cause in most cases.

This isn't a particularly new issue, we haven't been converting chances for two or three years now. We've tried different combinations and in desperation thrown forwards on in games but it has seldom done much good. 

Quality,  not quantity.

We could play with 3 or 4 strikers, what difference would it make if they can't hit the target? We create more than enough chances.

We need one striker who can score.

Aye, that's a trip down memory lane. Some long forgotten names there.

We've been the better team every time we played them,  yet they sit top of the table. Hopefully we can apply ourselves equally well against the other 8 teams in the division. Do that and we can maintain our play off aspirations.

It was there for the taking. Twice as many strikes as County , but come up short again.

So Oakley misses out with big Jord stepping in for him...could be a very long afternoon.
