Robbo is looking for 3 more players. From today's P&J

    IMG_1594.JPG

I read that article yesterday and took from it that, a) the Midfielder signing is close and could be imminent :), b) poor Robbo has his work cut out in working out what striker he will sign, he's been given loads of options (from agents) he'll need to watch videos of, and c) the RB signing could be a few weeks away, he does not mention having anyone in mind.

On Josh Meekings, I would not say no to him, even if it's just to cover for injuries etc.

  2. Seeing as we are struggling to think of things to talk about, I thought I'd be the first to mention that the league Cup draw is tomorrow at 1300hrs and live on SPFL YouTube channel and Free Sports (Sky 422).

All I know is that there are 40 clubs to be drawn into 8 regionalised (North and South sections) groups.

There are seeded teams and unseeded teams, but again I don't know who's seeded etc.

Clubs in Europe are not in the draw.

So, who would you like us to draw :ictscarf:

  3. I've looked at the club site to have a look at our squad and depth in each position and come up with a list of all players in each position so that it's easy for us to work out where needs strengthened.

GK: Mark Ridgers, Cameron Mackay and Jamie McKinnon

Defence: Lewis Toshney, Robbie Deas, Kevin McHattie, Brad Mackay and Cammy Harper

Midfield: Sean Welsh, David Carson, Aaron Doran, James Vincent, Roddy McGregor, Shane Harkness and Lewis Hyde

Forwards/Strikers: Shane Sutherland, James Keatings, Miles Storey, Nikolay Todorov and Daniel Mackay.

So really, it is the defence that needs strengthened imho. We have enough cover in Midfield (unless Hyde and Harkness are not ready for the step up, in which case another couple of additions may be needed, but not urgent), striker and GK positions so all in all, we ain't really in a bad position :ictscarf:

Encouraging comments from him on the club website. Hopefully he will do a good job for us.

Centre half was one position we were light on, now we need a right back and potentially a central midfielder and we will be getting towards a reasonable strength in depth:

I'd say defence and possibly striker is what we need to prioritise first and foremost.

I'd still like to see some of the younger guys such as McGregor, Harper and Mackay get a shot in the first team :ictscarf:

  5. Am I the only one that's getting worried/concerned about our lack of transfer activity 🤔

I know people will say that other clubs aren't signing either but that's not true because Ayr, Dunfermline, Raith and even PARTICK have signed players!!

Most people would agree that we need another 2-3 players in so, the sooner the better imho.

Sad signs when some of our fans are buzzing about players like Sutherland and Curry guys who'd struggle to get a game for Alness UTD if that's the benchmark Robbos looking at if far rather he play our young boys see what there made of that's if wev any left obvs! Frank Ross freed by Aberdeen he's a lot of potential

I agree with you regarding having a look at young Frank Ross because it's the sort of age range we should be looking at signing :).

A disagree with your point regarding Curry and Sutherland though, we need to give Sutherland a chance, I mean, he scored lots for Elgin so he's not a bad player and knows where the net is. Plus Curry needs to be given a chance, be it at us or wherever he  goes.

At least its gone quiet on Jonny Hayes lol, everybody knows he's Tannadice or Pittodrie bound, anyone that thinks otherwise is crazy :-P.

  7. Yeah, I agree with you Rig, and to an extent Lightlamp2 (but its highly unlikely).

in fact, my worry now turns to two things:

    1) Having a squad capable of being successful next season

    2) The worry of JR leaving for Hearts or St J. Some will say its not likely but, to do you really think SG/RM would turn down compensation by saying no to these 2 clubs, IF they came in for him??

  8. I've been over on Jambos Kickback most of this week and that word "forced reconstruction" has been mentioned a few times :O. They reckon that the Spfl cannot afford the compensation bill so will ask clubs to help pay for it, which will then lead to clubs going bust, hence why chairman will be forced to vote yes in order to save their clubs.

  9. ICTFC launch new kit & sponsor

Club CEO Scot Gardiner said “I am delighted to conclude this prestigious partnership for the club and having worked closely with the team at PUMA in previous years, I know very well the reputation of this worldwide sportswear brand and the quality of their product.”

“We have looked at the first 25 years of ICTFC kit and we believed that it was time to try and recapture an identity for our home kit in particular. The many people we discussed previous years designs with all seemed to be thinking along the same lines and I hope the fans are in agreement.”

Also joining the club as significant new partners are Intelligent Land Investments

Intelligent Land Investments, or ILI is a green energy group, based in Hamilton, with a history of successful renewable developments. It is currently planning the £600 million Red John pumped storage hydro scheme at Dores, just south of Inverness. They will be the main shirt sponsor of the club with their company logo emblazoned on both home and away jerseys

    New Strip, indeed by Puma......

  10. This has a long way to run yet!

Ayr want a TWENTY TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP () and Roy Mcgregor seems to be willing to change his mind and BACK Ann Budge's proposal.

This mess should have been avoided if the CEO of the league stopped pandering to the Old Firm and stupid TV companies! I've said this many times, most fans of the game up here want bigger leagues so that we stop playing each other 4 bloody times a season.

For me it's 14-14-16 so Kelty and Brora rightly get rewarded with promotion.

It's time that pundits such as Michael Stewart or Darren Fletcher have a say in our game, now I'm not saying we get rid of Neil Doncaster etc but they are not football men!

  11. That's a very worrying am of players so I really hope that they get clubs as soon as they can because I don't like to see anyone jobless, especially at this moment in time during a crisis.

I really hope we don't release that many :-(.

I’ve never said this since we were relegated but I think this is our promotion year (that is if there’s no league reconstruction).
I think we’ve got enough of a core there (especially if we can keep Walsh and keep him fit).
I’d be quite happy to keep Robbo this season, after all, the only difference between us and 1st place was Shankland.

Need to bring in one or two to make sure we have injury cover and bigger bodies,  can’t rely on the youngsters and still expect promotion.
My only problem with MacGregor is his size. Great player but seems to be easily pushed off the ball by older, bigger players.

I do agree with the bit I've bolded but it does just need to be a couple.

Anyway, I'm thinking, what would our squad look like if we promoted a few of the youngsters that are deserving of a step up.

GK: Ridgers, Cameron Mackay and Daniel Hoban

DF: Kevin McHattie, Lewis Toshney, Bradley Mackay, Cameron Harper, Jack Brown

MF: Aaron Doran, Tom Walsh, Sean Welsh, Roddy Mcgregor, James Vincent, David Carson

ST: Nikolay Todorov, Daniel Mackay, James Keatings, Miles Storey and Shane Sutherland.

That's as far as I've got as I don't know any other youngster capable of the step up.

  13. So basically now, we have to worry about Hearts and Dundee, both of who are likely to be looking to finish ahead of us in the table :(.

And in top of that, the fear of losing John Robertson is heightening as its expected that Daniel Stendel will use his relegation release clause and resign. Plus we will end up losing more players :(, next season could be a real struggle!

  14. I really hope that we now give our youngsters a chance. I understand that the gaffer may well be looking at what's available, if it's at all possible to sign players during this unprecedented times (it's possible as White is departing, likely to Motherwell).

I really rate players such as Cammy Mackay, Cameron Harper, Roddy Mcgregor and young Daniel Mackay.

If there is any other young guys that I've missed out that could make the step up then feel free to mention them here (I don't check news on the youth team but, from next season I might start to), the above names are ones that have been in the first team match squad at times last season.

Anyway, I'd love Tremarco to join the coaching staff or return as manager in the future :ictscarf: :ictscarf:

According to this he's in the running to replace Tommy Wright :(.

  16. Ah come on, Robbo has won me over and basically because he gets the best out of what he has! To say he's a failure is pathetic, his first year he ended 5th, only a point behind the last play off place, last season, only County and Utd were ahead of us and this season, only Utd and they were miles ahead.  Add the cup quarters, semis and challenge cup final he has got us too, one thing he certainly isn't, is a failure!

As for rebuilding, I also disagree with that as only a 2-3 players have left.
