  1. It's preseason so results are secondary and it was a decent day for getting out to put faces to new names in the squad. Although £12 for a friendly does feel a little steep.

I don't think the trialists were as bad as some others are saying. Ojo was getting into dangerous positions with the ball but seemed a little reluctant to pull the trigger earlier. He seemed to be constantly looking for a final killer pass so that may be down trying things out and instructions from coaching staff.  I'd be raging if he was doing that it competitive matches.

The other fella didn't do anything I would consider out of place and seemed comfortable throughout.

Billy Mckay will know what they were looking for so I trust he'll judge based on that but I wouldn't be surprised if both were offered contracts.

The goal we conceded was a classic scramble and Munro was unsighted for the final shot and could do nothing about it.  We weren't really troubled aside from that.

Fear that's the nature of the beast outside of the top-flight, particularly in the Championship and with full time teams in League One, you can't risk long term contracts as it's so easy to get pulled into a relegation fight and suddenly you've got high wages for the next 3 years with reduced revenue. I've seen people argue that clubs should follow Celtics model, get in young hungry players and then sell on for profit, but again doesn't work with our smaller league structure where 6 out 10 teams are involved in either relegation or promotion, you need players to come in and be a success so you end up looking for experienced players on short term deals to ensure safety or the playoff push etc. if the leagues were expanded and there was more scope for mid table safety then I think clubs would push the boat out more for young players

    That's why relegation clauses exist.

I was more making an observation than a criticism as I get that we're still in a bit of a transition and some uncertainties remain, so we'll be proceeding with positivity, tempered by caution on the financial side.

Signings so far all looking good.  A couple more solid 'starters' and a few eager guys looking to get a spot and keep them on their toes and we'll be in good shape come the competitive games.

Unfortunately we don't have time to get a programme designed and printed and due to ongoing work within the stadium there will be no hospitality for this game.

What we will have is a great day in Bar 94 where we will be raising money for Aaron.

Aaron and some other players will join us post match where we will have testimonial shirts to raffle/auction as well as some other prizes.

Unfortunate, but also positive to hear there's work being done. Thanks.

  4. Not disappointed with the signings so far but that's a lot of 1 year contracts and with existing players also with a year left there's going to be an even bigger rebuild required next season.

Maybe necessary if we get promoted anyway but back to where we are now if we don't.

Removing the pension age discount seems to me to be a very odd way of encouraging our older supporters to keep attending. And, for comparison, a pension age season ticket for the main stand at Ross County last season could be had for less than half the price ICT charged for the dubious pleasure of witnessing our League 1 struggles.

I agree but I do think the level of discount seems a bit high.

The idea of a loyalty discount system sounds good and might have stopped me breaking my continuity when swithering on renewal with all the bs last year.

  6. That was the season that was.

No words to describe how proud I am of the team and (post DF) management/coaching.

Wouldn't wish what they've had to go through on any team (well maybe 2) but they will have learned a lot about themselves and what can be achieved by pulling together as a team.

Avoiding the play offs means they will all now get a thoroughly deserved full summer break.

Hope to see many of them pulling on the Caley Thistle shirt again next season.

  7. From the Inverness Courier, it looks like we can offer existing players contract extensions even though we're still in administration.

According to the P&J, Danny Devine is the first to say publicly that he intends to stay.

  8. Club media went the same way as everything else over the last 6 or 7 years. Highlights have become sporadic and quality is atrocious even when we do get them.

Hopefully it is one of the things on Alan Savage's list to be looked at.

Apples/oranges, what leagues, how long over what period, what injuries/ limitations; endless parameters that allows everyone to be able to come up with an answer that suits their point.
    - You add DF time at Forest Green to make his record worse of example.

Absolutely meaningless for me as any prediction of how we will perform next season (and in what league) cannot /should not be based on DF or SK’s past football results. ICT will have I expect a large turnover of players at the end of this season and will be setting their stall for promotion from that league in one season.
Looking forward to seeing what emerges at the end of the season from AS on how he proposes to take the club forward. His communications will be vital / important at the outset I feel to provide the fans and any interested investor / business with a clear vision and timetable to join the merry ship ‘AS New Beginnings’.

I acknowledged the fact that we have no knowledge on Kells ability to build a squad we don't even know what resources he might have to do so.

Next season is still an total unknown on almost every front.

Doesn't mean we can't or shouldn't compare his performance to his predecessor. Two different things.

  10. Votes are only based on the people in the room and proxies (?) so unless all 500 plus shareholders show up (and we already know that's not possible) at a meeting then we are rarely if ever looking at calculating percentages against all shares.

  11. The 10 vs 23 games is why I used average PPG.  If you want to go back and include 23 games for Ferguson then his average is even worse and only strengthens the case for Kell.

I don't take anything said online to heart so you can sleep easy and not worry about upsetting me. Feel free to disagree with me any time you like and I will continue to do the same.
