  1. Know what you mean Huisdean, I just hope when they are announced, our new owners pay big money for striker Cirberz Gas. 😃
  2. Back into the relegation fight with a thumping bump. Maybe the wake up call we needed as we were flat and poor today. I’ll upset a lot here but well done Annan. They had a game plan and they executed it perfectly. Score a goal early, sit back and defend in numbers. Waste time, play the referee and break forward when the openings come. The first 45 minutes we had Billy alone in Annan’s half up against 4 defenders?? We just did not have any answer either tactically or in quality of balls into the 18 yard box. When the few chances came we fluffed them. No talk now of 5 or 6th, every game now will be important in avoiding 9th place. bc
  3. This is simple, keep the same format, attitude and pace we loose 0-1. Opposite of the tempo on Tuesday. Scotty needs to introduce changed tactics. Should have happened 20 minutes into the match. No point blaming Annan for time wasting (we’d do the same ) or the ref, it’s down to the manager and the players to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and play more forward! 45 minutes to see if we have it in us to change. bc
  4. Yes, I take on board what you and LRP are saying Charles. Any settled agreement must take cognisance of previous experiences and make it as watertight (I prefer airtight) as possible. Ultimately the length of time the Admin boys and other solicitors are engaged is dependant on the main players at the table reaching an agreement. This in my mind is best done with no solicitors present. (They can draw up the contracts later). I mentioned some months ago the fee for the administrator could be 750K or more. I reckon we’re there or above that figure now. Some will say, ‘Well it will be whatever it needs to be’ and that ‘A Savage will pick up the tab’. Maybe it will or some of it will be pushed into the final buyers tab. I cant help feeling somewhere in the whole process we the fans will be paying for some of any fee in some way (increase price of bovril or a scarf). I don’t personally mind but I’d rather be open about it! Ultimately I don’t see any incentive for the admin / solicitors involved to expedite the process. How many deadlines have we passed now, Two? Tuppence worth. bc
  5. Legal and financial advisers need to get things right. Yes, agreed, however whilst the solicitors and legal beaks frown over the minuscule of any piece of negotiations, I can’t help feeling they will remarkably, through their due diligence, highlight or raise concerns on the period at the end of any sentence. Wonder why? Hope there’s a cap on their fee!! bc
  6. Sorry guys/girls, The system was down when I tried to load my Musa topic. Everytime I tried to enter it asked me to wait 10 secs. Nothing changed so I tried the same three or four times. Gave up and raised a new topic. Only seen the mess hours later when I rejoined! That’s my excuse anyway🤪
  7. big cherly posted a topic in Caley Thistle
Just feel it’s worth saying savour the remaining matches left we have with Musa between the sticks the season. The guy is capable (and deserves) to be playing at a far higher level than our humble setting. I would expect he has a few admirers already both in Scotland and further afield. He came up here as a back up keeper with maybe a bit part chance of getting a game. If admin has been good for anyone, then surely Musa is the recipient. Wish we had him on a 5year contract but alas we’ll be able to at least say he helped us, in no little way, clawing back 15 points towards securing a place in league 1 (div 3 to me) and avoiding relegation. bc
  8. This subject possibly need its own (or revived) topic, as I don’t want anything detract from Tuesday nights outstanding performance or result . STFU had a point however worth discussing (if nothing more than a priority item for post admin). Equally so Moogthurso, bdu98196 & Satan in their postings bring weight to the importance of the subject. I take something from them all that can be supported. Both the youth players that (for the most) has been coming through and the facilities don’t reach the desired level that is needed for a club of IFCTC ‘standing’. That’s a tacit qualification as our standing has been below the mark of many comparative clubs IMO, The bottom line for me is only youth players that can demonstrate potential they have the ability, desire, dedication and mindset to play at the level required and ultimately replace a first team player should be given a chance on the park. Trying youth players of 5-10 minutes in a match ‘secured’ is fine, and I’m sure that’s what is the route for most youth starts. The success rate however for the whole over the past 10-15 years has not been overly rewarding. C Christie has mentioned the club is going to set a higher standard or expectation as a benchmark for youth players coming forward. In my view it’s long overdue as in my view we have been treading water too long the level of youth players; failing them in some respect. Taking a D Trump perspective of it, ‘change needs to happen’ when we have new owners. More than I expected to included, however there it is!! No offence to any previous youth players! bc
  9. Simply fabulous night at the ground. Weird feeling at the outset with the late late kick off. Stenny were no mugs and looked dangerous on more than a few attacks. I wobbled a bit when Alfie B went off, but in reality the team gelled and played better when Billy came on. His experience was invaluable. Got to give him credit here as I thought this was as good as I have seen him this season. Second half was superb with a great football match and even better score line and result. Roll on Saturday! bc
  10. Just following on from above postings, the mindset has changed! We are no longer a team fighting a cause of recovering from a 15 point deduction to get above the relegation slots. We now need to change the mindset to not get dragged back into 9th place (Dumbarton are down IMO). Be interesting to see how we cope (team and fans) being in this place now! I’ll be there hoping for three points but will not complain about coming away with a draw tonight! bc
  11. I think you have hit the nail in the head STFU here in that the ego’s and old points scoring is begining to resurface and this is affecting the discussions going on in the background (while BDO attempt to bring the parties together). I don't know if there is enough willingness between the main players to look for a route that allows the Admin process to make substantive progress anytime soon. All we can hope is these people see the football side are meeting their part of the equation by almost certainly avoiding relegation. And with that spur the big hitters at the table make the effort to reach a settlement they all can sign up to. just my tuppence worth bc
  12. Just wanted to wait 24 hours to let it sink in being in 8th place before adding a note. When we were deducted 15 points and dumped at the bottom of the league and in the early stages Admin I must admit I was a bit worried this could be too deep a hole to climb out of. The contribution and impact that A Savage brought at this time should not be underestimated. He brought crucial stability that allowed the football side to survive and start the challenge of fighting their way to stay in the league. Dumbarton’s fall into Administration helped our own cause significantly. Whilst C Christie’s unquestionably energy and experience has been a cornerstone of any footballing direction taken, its time to give proper and full credit to Scott Kellacher (particularly), coach Billy and the players for getting to the lofty position that we find ourselves today. Quite remarkable in my book and may well be looked upon in 10 years time as one of the clubs greatest achievements. We are not safe by any means yet as staying in 8th place has to be earned. However today seems a lot more lighter than the past 6 months. bc
  13. Just get a feeling this game could be a bit of a battle. I thought Dumbarton were dreadful last time we played them. That said they will be wanting to show they’re not going to be relegated without taking a few scalps on the way down. They have had positive noises in the press about 12 interested parties taking over (out of Admin). They lost 1-2 to Arbroath, so that shows grit to me. Add to that Scotty going public slagging of there pitch (it is a bog), well, they will want to prove a point. Hope I am wrong and we skip back up the A9 with an easy 3 points and 8th place. bc
  14. In the bbc footie news - ‘Hibernian have had about 50 applications for the vacant chief executive role’ With the way the world is turned upside down right now with the dear great leader Pressy Trump, anything is possible. All hail and stand for the return of the golden one New Hibs CEO Scott Gardiner!😀
  15. Alan Savage’s piece in the P&J is welcome. It provides a clearer position of where the administrators and negotiations are with potential buyers and ICTP (Morrison and Cameron). I need to delve deeper on the release details, however on first impressions it appears to me that Morrison and Cameron and playing hard ball on the sale / transfer of the car parks and holding out to maximise the return of their asset. There appears to be still more than one interested buyer in the game, which, for me, is a plus as it offer us more scope than accepting the only offer, were it a sole investing party. April is a bit of surprise. But given the above it’s possibly to be expected. It does however keep the shadow of uncertainty with us through critical run down to the rest of the season. BDO keep rolling it in! bc
  16. Agreed, I put that down to the respect Remi gave him (none) and harassed him all afternoon. Having said that I was concerned every time the boy Stirton got the game. His holding up the ball, height, good feet and all round game was impressive IMO. How I wish this stork like framed kid was in our colours as Billy’s impact on a game becomes more and more insignificant. bc
  17. Yep, I must admit there were times today I felt I was time warped back to August 24. bc
  18. Agree with posters initial feedback of the match. We suffered invention with the loss of Longstaff early in the second half and from there the game was mash of fouls, poor final balls (from us mostly) and stoppages. Add in Montrose throwing their weight around and dirty tricks, it was a match that won’t be remembered for its grace or style. Thought we lacked the imagination and guile to get behind the Montrose defence. Our one piece of quick, accurate sharp passing from Remi to Danny onto a great diving header from Keith brought a quality equaliser. On another day we could have lost this match so let’s take the single point we gain on Annan and look forward to the next match. bc
  19. A rather insipid and dry first half. Montrose the more adventurous and their efforts rewarded. We seem to take 6 passes when 2 is only required. Alfie unlucky with his shot but needs help. bx
  20. Yeah we can play with words ‘what they going to do - bust us’. Doesn’t look or come across great thou at a time when we hoped we had left such practice behind. Again some statement from BDO could alleviate any concerns. ie Account submissions are frozen until the admin stage is concluded? Just guessing as I don’t know, hence the need for BDO to release an update / communication. bc
  21. Great pre-match overview as always tm4tj. I read all the noise about being 8th if this and that happen. All fine and good. For me it’s simple, concentrate fully on beating Montrose, end of!! Let the other matches take care of themselves! bc
  22. Can you advise if the update includes the position (or better still a statement), from the Administrators BDO where they are in the discussions with the potential buyer(s), whether we are closer or further away from a deal and a expectation of a timeline for concluding the negotiations. If it’s just Charlie’s and Scott’s own views of where they think the club is (or are allowed to say), then Ok, that’s fine, but it may just add to the uncertainty that currently exists on the matter. thanks bc

Get big Dunc in there too as defence coordinator. Also add Robbo as media match commentator to make a full pack of ICT connections. “Dream team”! bc

I heard today Dodds name being mentioned as part of interim management team for Rangers. ‘Cant keep a good man down’. Knew his tactical nous would be sought after sooner or later. Just surprised Celtic have been found sleeping and hadn’t moved for him!!! bc
  25. Agreed, We are in no position to underestimate Kelty. They will be now begin to settle under the direction of their new manager Mulgrew and look to get a run going to get into the playoffs. I expect they will have heard how we were outmuscled by Arbroath last week and will try to do the same early on at todays match Interesting to see if Ben Brannan starts the match. Plastic pitch time, so fast moving match again. Delighted if we come back with three points as Annan seem to be making a fist of trying to stay on 8th place. bc
