  1. If my calculations are right, we have scored 12 home league goals in 15 matches.  If you deduct the Ayr (November) and Partick (Feb) matches we have scored 6 home goals in 13 matches.   It really has been an awful year to be a season ticket holder unfortunately.  We are far too predictable in my opinion - it's time to dump the pretty football in the last few matches, be more direct and fight hard for every loose ball to save our season.

  2. Is it just me wondering how on earth Cillian Sheridan is managing to score regularly for Queen's Park?  Apparently Sean Welsh was very good again today.  Like others I agree a point at Dundee United under normal circumstances would be a welcome one and it is. However, we are in a predicament which means we cannot be happy with a draw in any match.  I hope we go to Partick next week with an attacking mentality.  We are running out of matches and must do everything we can to win every one of them.

Think that is the plan. Going forward I suspect we will again see a large number of loans possibly from much bigger clubs who are unlikely to care whether we contribute to salaries so long as we guarantee game time. Financially that model would make sense given where we are?

Reckon it'll be a revolving door every window unfortunately

Personally would much rather we gave our own youth players a chance. Bray and Thompson look good enough to have featured much more this year which would have helped them in future seasons.  I may be wrong but I think Cameron Harper has played every league game this season and has been excellent in my opinion.

  4. Considering they hadn't played together before, I though Kerr, Anderson and Lawal combined well in midfield with Cammy Kerr head and shoulders above anybody else on the park.

Unfortunately, despite no lack of trying, we are still missing that cutting edge upfront that could turn these stalemates into wins.  Came away from today more positive than some weeks though as the boys really gave it their all today.  It's going to be a battle until the end of the season but there is enough characters in the team to drag us to safety in my opinion.

  5. Before the transfer window we were in desperate need of a decent striker and an attacking/creative midfielder.  Thankfully we seem to have ticked those boxes and brought in some other new faces who will hopefully strengthen other areas and provide more options.

I'm positive about our prospects in the second half of the season and I still think we have a sneaky wee chance of coming 4th and making the playoffs..... Time will tell.

Charlton have been rumoured to be looking at Harper.

He has been really impressive for us this season even during the tougher spells.  I'm sure he will have ambitions to move up a level and deservedly so in my opinion but hopefully we can get him on an extended contract so that if he does leave at the end of the season we get properly compensated.

As money has made the game elitist in certain parts of the world so society has moved on and the well established working class ritual of attending a football match has been diminished by the removal of terracing to comply with "requirements". Perhaps if proper inspections had been introduced by the Taylor Report for clubs of a certain size safe terracing could then have been introduced incrementally instead of going from one extreme of dilapidation to plastic central on a budget. The legacy is we are left with half empty stadiums everywhere devoid of atmosphere as costs of regular attendance have risen and the attraction has paled. Away fans buck this seating requirement by standing up for 90 minutes and making a day of it.  Historically If you wanted to sweetie rustle there was always the main stand. Fans historically were also left to get the atmosphere going.. without pyros as we couldn't crowd fund back in the day or source them they were the preserve of foreign clubs .. (ironically health and safety now doesn't extend in reality beyond plastic seating & bovril being served luke warm ) you also weren't choreographed over the head and reminded it was happening " Right here Right now" or whatever guff at full volume. Fair enough a club tune as teams come out but loud music on a loop pre kick off is just awful. Should we trust clubs to get even more innovative we'll probably get music blaring from an electric organ every time the ball goes out for a shy or a corner, ice hockey esque

    Rant over 🙂

The tannoy/sound system operating at in the north stand at Caley stadium is terrible.  It is absolutely deafening too.  I take my ear plugs which makes it just about bearable... Why oh why does it have to be so loud?... It certainly doesn't help to create an atmosphere.  Indeed it drowns out any attempts by the fans to create an atmosphere pre match which the youngsters attempted to do at the Dundee Utd game recently.  The guy who sits beside me has been season ticket holder for years and said he's complained to the club about it but to no avail.

Maybe something the supporters trust could take forward if there is a general agreement.

Thanks for adding.... What a pass that was for Samuel's first goal...not sure who played it but clearly someone with a sweet left foot!

Great victory and second what Lizi said about the difference in atmosphere between home and away games.

  9. YASSSSS!!!! Hope Big Dunc was giving it big fist pumps at the end 👊✊.... We are heading for the Premiership playoffs 😝😝

On a serious note though I'm just so happy we didn't concede a last minute sickener AGAIN!!

  10. HT:  0 - 1

    FT: 0 - 2

    1st Scorer ICT:  Alex Samuel

    1st Scorer RR: Vaughan

    Crowd: 3,268

I'm thinking if we play with 5 central defenders and four right backs (with another couple on the bench just incase) we should at least keep a clean sheet tomorrow ......

  11. I'd say that's us just about covered now as far as defensive options are concerned .... Here's hoping for a creative midfield genius and a well-established consistently prolific goalscorer in the next few days!

  12. May be in the minority here but as someone who enjoys watching slick passing football rather than kick and rush/lump it forward and hope for the best/hoof ball, I have actually been encouraged by the style of play Big Dunc has been trying to implement since his arrival.

Yes it hasn't and won't work at times against certain opposition (and we need to have more than one card up our sleeve) and we are still shot shy and looking for the killer pass too often, but it's early days.  I think it will be next season (with own group of players) before we truly see how effective this can be and whether or not it will bring us 'success'.

Keep the faith, we are a work in progress and we need to give him a proper chance!  When I think of some of the other managers who were touted for the job, I'm still thankful for the willingness to think a little bit out the box and try something new.....

Sadly I've found at home games there seems to be a lot of negativity whereas at away games the fans really back and encourage the team until the end.  Maybe it's just the people I'm sitting next to 🤷‍♂️
