  1. You could surely debate whether or not Lewis Toshney ever actually played for us....received a wage perhaps.
  2. The S*n is reporting we're being offered 8,000 tickets, with the possibility of 10,000 if we sell the initial allocation. Terribly generous of the SFA even letting us attend at all. Also extremely professional of them leaking the news on kick-off time and allocation to the gutter press rather than through official channels. People seem genuinely surprised by the way we're treated. Entirely par for the course I would suggest.
  3. One point that cannot be over stated is how much we've missed Jay Henderson in the past two games. He has been an absolute revelation since we signed him and getting him back in time for the last two league games and semi-final could be pivotal. I'm surprised by comments above regarding Shaw, alongside Henderson a stand out for me this calendar year. Finally, I had a bit of a moment last night when Billy was bearing down on goal for the winner. Without wishing to sound like some sort of Californian new age hippy there was just something about the way he readied himself for the shot where amongst the hysteria I felt a moment of zen like calm that he was destined to score. An absolutely massive goal from a club legend who richly deserves a bit of glory this season.
  4. We had so much possession in and around their box but just couldn't pull the trigger, particularly in the first half. The Accies goal certainly focused the team's attention. The boys showed real grit and determination to get back in the game then bag the winner. Absolute scenes in the away section when Billy coolly slotted home the winner. Two tricky home games lie ahead but it feels like momentum is on our side. Spent the whole journey home discussing games where we dropped points which could have made the difference in the title race. A crazy few weeks lie ahead. Time for the latent support to come out and get behind the team.
  5. Traffic seems to have cleared up.
  6. Mrs ymip has just advised massive tailbacks in vicinity of Cove's ground. Aberdeen City Council have closed two bridges over the Dee and it's apparently bedlam all over the city. For those attending game I suggest you give yourself as much time as possible to get there.
  7. I'm enjoying a certain individual's post-match twitter meltdown considerably more than I enjoyed the game.
  8. A pretty fortunate point from where I was sitting. Started ok but usual train crash for the pen drained any confidence and the rest of first half was a real struggle. Second half was marginally better with a very fortunate deflection getting us back in the game. A frankly bizarre decision to remove Devine and Harper before the hour mark. Unless Harper was carrying a knock completely inexcusable. Mark Ridgers deserves credit for 2 or 3 excellent saves later on to deny the Dees all 3 points. 1 point up the road not moving the dial in a truly lamentable season.
  9. Quite possibly the lowest point in the club's existence. Two defeats in the space of 4 days to a team who've been rooted to the bottom of the league all season. We are staring oblivion square in the face and absolutely no response from the club's custodians. Grim times.
  10. I hear what you're saying Yngwie but Dodds seems to be talking about bringing players into the cub in January. If we assume that these players are not playing for free then presumably we're accounting for salaries as part of this fruitless exercise. If we can afford to do that I would suggest that we can afford to keep paying Dodds' salary. I would imagine that there would be no instant pay-off as we'd surely just keep paying him until his contract expired at was the case with Richie Foran. The bottom line is he needs to go and we somehow need to find the money to change a catastrophically bad set up. I think most would agree that we certainly can't afford to let Dodds loose in another transfer window.
  11. I think it's not unreasonable to say that was probably the weakest starting XI the club has ever put on the field (recent Hamilton game aside) and I'm including 3rd division days here. A number of these guys are simply not professional footballers, and these are Dodds' signings. 9-1 on aggregate from our two visits to Firhill this season is quite the statistic yet Gardiner and Co. will do nothing. The club is in terminal decline and we need radical change NOW!
  12. I found the CEO's comments regarding intermittent hospitality in the recent podcast rather bizarre. Two minutes of research confirmed my understanding that Forres, Elgin and Keith (amongst others) all run hospitality for every game. They also run pie and a pint deals and other money making ventures. Nairn County have a World Cup Final night at the local Briish Legion, etc. etc... These are Highland League/League 2 clubs with no permanent staff. We have an array of commercial directors, sporting directors, a CEO, part-time consultants and such like and we invariably end up looking like a poorly run Highland League side. Go figure....
  13. As Chaz Dickens once said..... "It was very far from the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of Doddsball, it was the age of cluelessness, it was the epoch of disbelief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was a season of darkness, it was the season of gloom, it was the autumn of no points, it was the winter of despair...Dodds out now."
  14. Enough is enough! We were absolutely garbage yet again and this situation simply cannot be allowed to continue. I get the fact that we have a depleted squad but the manner of the performances are completely uncceptable and we are categorically never getting out of this league with Dodds in charge. I would love our esteemed CEO and Manager to illuminate us as to why we chose not to bring in loanees at the end of September when we were already facing a lengthy injury list. The fact that we're also naming 16 and 17 year olds on the bench when we have a number of slightly more experienced players out on loan is a similar mystery to me. Time to go!
  15. Dodds publicly throwing Ridgers under the bus is, IMHO, extremely poor form. A poor half from Mark but that's dreadful man management.
  16. We were seriously under the cosh in the first half with Ayr having a ridiculous number of corners as pointed out above. The early goal after half time really changed the dynamic of the game and we looked much more comfortable in the second half. Deas and Devine looked very steady in the centre of defence. Delaney continues to look like the pick of the Summer signings despite being extremely one footed. Another goal from Cammy Harper who really looks like a man reborn further up the park. Stronger bench today was a bonus. All in all a very pleasing 3 points which looked highly unlikely at half time. Massive game on Friday and we really need a top drawer performance to exorcise that shocker at Firhill. Onwards and upwards.
  17. Danny D and Robbie D were immense in the second half but I was hugely impressed by the shift Cammy Harper put in in an advanced central midfield role. The boy has some engine and covered every blade of grass. Considering he was completely out if his comfort zone I thought he was excellent. Great to see young lads stepping up and putting in key performances when so many senior players are missing. A massively pleasing 3 points. Poor old Raith must absolutely hate the sight of us.
  18. Cue Dodds' usual "It's no like us" p1sh. This being the 3rd time we've shipped 4 in the last 11 competitive matches. The club needs radical change from top to bottom but clearly nothing will change any time soon. A truly depressing state of affairs.
  19. A frankly embarrassing performance from start to finish and yet another poor starting selection call from Dodds. Personally I don't think we've done great business this Summer and we've certainly lost a fair bit of quality. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see us strengthening further and based on tonight's capitulation I fear a tough season ahead. Was gone by the time their fourth was scored, something I have very rarely done over the years but enough was enough. A truly lamentable night in Maryhill.
  20. We looked excellent for about 10 minutes then managed to fall into the usual Gayfield trap of engaging in an aerial bombardment which had my eyes bleeding. I just don't understand why we think this will prove to be a success against Arbroath. Only plus point of the day was my steak and black pudding pie. Worth nothing that the stewards at Gayfield again making this a rather heavy day out. I'm sure they'll be as brave next week when Dundee fill the away end.
  21. Deaie me - just watched the Dodds post-match interview. What conclusion can we draw from these latest comments other than establishing that the guy is completely delusional and incapable of arresting our ongoing downward spiral. The very least he can do is hold his hands up and be honest with us, instead we get the same meaningless platitudes every week and frankly disingenuous analyis of a performance which was rank rotten for all to see. Meanwhile we have the usual deafening silence from Gardiner and the board. The level of communication and transparency, at a full-time club which has spent significant time in the Premiership, would genuinely embarass most Highland League sides. Grim times.
  22. Tokely nailed it on comms; no workrate, no heart, no desire.
  23. I'm sorry but Dodds has got to go after this debacle. Another absolutely pitiful performance with no sign of any coherent game plan. We are a club in freefall.
  24. Same story every week. We dominate posession but do nothing with it. Passing is generally atrocious. Opposition goes up the park and scores from their solitary attempt. We huff and puff and generally look incapable of scoring. It's absolutely soul destroying. If we get nothing out of today we really need to be looking at a radical change of direction.
