1 nil Arbroath. We are dug meat.

Got that one wrong

The Courier's Will Clark suggesting we might have one more signing in tonight.
-
Big Dundee fan I know messaged me to say Anderson's a good signing. "Best in centre midfield but can play on wing too. Scores some good goals and a fair bit of experience now in both divisions". Here's hoping.
-
Max Anderson has signed on a season long loan. 5 starts last season for Dundee.....5' 5" midfielder.....I hope to god this is an inspired signing and also hope this is the first of a few more!
-
Quite possibly the 2 worst goals you're ever likely to see. A defensive disaster class. We are in BIG trouble this season.

The club needs to clarify Robertson's role and whether he takes a salary from the club. If he does then, as Director of Fottball, he needs to be at our away games and ditch the radio duties. Even if no salary received it's tone deaf behaviour from both Robbo and the club.

Being one of the hardy 121 at Dens I thought we played reasonably well and felt a draw would have been a fairer scoreline. I was very impressed by young Keith Bray who looks a real prospect and will be very unhappy if we punt him out on loan. Three defeats is concerning but I remain relatively optimistic for Queen's Park on Saturday.

Total and utter respect to our new number 90
ymip replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in Caley Thistle
I had a funny experience with Jackie about 11 or 12 years back when ymipjr was mascot in a game against the currant buns. I was standing in the tunnel with ymipjr and mrsymip when Jackie appeared and we exchanged pleasantries. He came out with the immortal "you were a bit of a player yourself". You could almost see ymipjr and mrsymip's jaws hit the floor at this statement. I was tempted to bask in the glory of this accolade but had to fess up that he was perhaps mistaking me for one of my three cousins who had all played for him over the years. A gentleman and a legend of Invernessian youth football who richly deserves this long overdue accolade. -
I'm all for young lads getting game time in the adult game but putting Harry and Ethan out on loan seems a bit premature give the situation we found ourselves just last season. Maybe we have a plethora of signings in the wings which will give us the depth of squad which would allow us to put these young lads out on loan but I remain to be convinced as to the wisdom of this decision. Nothing new there.....

Having watched the Youtube "highlights" I'm not sure what's more embarrassing, our defending or the quality of the footage. Seemingly shot on a 1970s Super 8 camera.

Also heard this rumour. Apparently turned down a contract renewal at Celtic to sign for us. Looks an excellent prospect. Was averaging a goal a game in the Lowland League last season.

Today would be a really good day for the club to announce some positive news regarding players who have not, as yet, re-signed and/or the arrival of new faces. Long gone are the day we were plundering County for the likes of Roy McBain, Don Cowie and John Rankin. Sad state of affairs.
-
Pleased to see Danny re-signing but just realised that, to the best of our collective knowledge, apart from Lewis Nicolson the entire squad is out of contract from May 2024. You'd imagine one or two new recruits might be handed 2 year contracts but next Summer is going to be brutal in terms of turnover. Meanwhile Dodds gets a 2 year contract until 2025....go figure

Netherdale, Galashiels. Home of Gala Fairydean, now Gala Fairydean Rovers. Wasn't at the Scottish Cup game in question but have visited the ground since to see the main stand which is a modernist masterpiece designed by Peter Womersley. Nicw wee film aired on A View from the Terrace on YouTube if anyone interested.

All 2022-23 SPFL grounds, except Airdrieonians, Annan, Bonnyrigg, Dumbarton, FC Edinburgh (Meadowbank), East Fife, Stranraer. Makes 33 I think, due to ground sharing. Highland League: Brechin, Buckie, Fraserburgh, Inverurie, Huntly, Forres, Clach, Lossiemouth, Keith, Deveronvale (Been at Caley/ICT games at every HL ground except Wick, Strathspey and Turriff) Lowland League: Spartans (Edinburgh City vs ICT), Cowdenbeath, Broadwood (Clyde vs ICT), Demolished: Telford Street (RIP), Brockville, Love Street, Old Bayview, Firs Park, Boghead (Clydebank vs ICT) Randoms: Bridge of Don Barracks (Aberdeen vs ICT), Cormack Park (Aberdeen vs ICT) Hampden Outside Scotland - Astra Giurgiu (missed all the friendly games in England due to holidays) I think that makes 56.

We just seem incapable of handling things professionally or with a bit of humanity. This is not the first time player departures have been handled extremely poorly. Really poor show.

Received a call from the club at lunchtime. Tickets sorted. Fair play.

Is anyone else having problems purchasing tickets online or over the phone? I bought three tickets over the phone last Thursday after having problems accessing my online account. As usual the girl in the ticket office taking my order couldn't have been more helpful. However, I've been trying to buy three more tickets this week without success. My online account (season ticket holder) is not letting me buy more than one ticket at a time and I've called ticket office and main reception approximately 20 times this week and haven't been able to get through once. I've left a voice mail on main reception number and also emailed the club. Ticket office mailbox is full. To date nothing in response from the club which is rather disappointing. I appreciate that this is a busy time but surely we can draft in additional support to answer phones and maximise attendance at the final. Seems like a missed opportunity if folk just give up as it's too much effort.

You could surely debate whether or not Lewis Toshney ever actually played for us....received a wage perhaps.
-
The S*n is reporting we're being offered 8,000 tickets, with the possibility of 10,000 if we sell the initial allocation. Terribly generous of the SFA even letting us attend at all. Also extremely professional of them leaking the news on kick-off time and allocation to the gutter press rather than through official channels. People seem genuinely surprised by the way we're treated. Entirely par for the course I would suggest.

One point that cannot be over stated is how much we've missed Jay Henderson in the past two games. He has been an absolute revelation since we signed him and getting him back in time for the last two league games and semi-final could be pivotal. I'm surprised by comments above regarding Shaw, alongside Henderson a stand out for me this calendar year. Finally, I had a bit of a moment last night when Billy was bearing down on goal for the winner. Without wishing to sound like some sort of Californian new age hippy there was just something about the way he readied himself for the shot where amongst the hysteria I felt a moment of zen like calm that he was destined to score. An absolutely massive goal from a club legend who richly deserves a bit of glory this season.
-
We had so much possession in and around their box but just couldn't pull the trigger, particularly in the first half. The Accies goal certainly focused the team's attention. The boys showed real grit and determination to get back in the game then bag the winner. Absolute scenes in the away section when Billy coolly slotted home the winner. Two tricky home games lie ahead but it feels like momentum is on our side. Spent the whole journey home discussing games where we dropped points which could have made the difference in the title race. A crazy few weeks lie ahead. Time for the latent support to come out and get behind the team.

Traffic seems to have cleared up.

Mrs ymip has just advised massive tailbacks in vicinity of Cove's ground. Aberdeen City Council have closed two bridges over the Dee and it's apparently bedlam all over the city. For those attending game I suggest you give yourself as much time as possible to get there.
