  1. You've gone down a division. It happens, It's sad, but the league doesn't lie. After 38 games you're last. And apart from yourselves, who really cares? It was quite a big deal when Hibs, Hearts, and Dundee Utd went down, it was news, because they were big clubs, with a tradition of being in the top league. Today, on the radio, there was a kind of acceptance that Caley-Thistle had been relegated. Could have been Hamilton . . . whatever . . . if it was Hamilton there would have been a bit of Saturday afternoon drama about the final placings, but there would still have been the same air of resignation that one of the 'wee' teams have been relegated. Are Inverness one of the 'wee' teams? If so, shame on you.
  2. It was more hump-backed. That's what confused me. The photo makes it looks like a crossroads.
  3. I just could not figure out where that photo was taken from until you mentioned the parrots. So (out of shot) Burnetts to the right, old Highland Bus depot to the left. God I'm getting old.
  4. Been a while since you mentioned 1963. Finger on the pulse as usual.
  5. But this latest series of paranoid ramblings quite simply transcends all else It's not paranoia and it's not rambling. We lost the referendum. Fair enough. There might have been some shenanigans in the count. Who knows? But why dismiss nearly 50% of the Scottish electorate as 'not the brightest characters'?
  6. By the way I like that phrase 'at least it's honest in its corruption'. They really are just taking the ****.
  7. That just about nails it. It's all about ratings. Big teams, big stars, big stadiums, huge TV audiences, but ultimately boring games. I remember watching Dundee Utd v Roma on TV back in the 80's. European Cup semi-final (yes, Dundee Utd, I know, seems implausible now). They qualified for the European Cup because they won the league. They got to the semi-final simply because they were a good team. Nowadays the SPL winners don't even automatically qualify for the Champions League!
  8. Kind of got that. Couldn't be arsed getting involved. If he doesn't like the French because of the way they behaved in the 60's or because he's got some stereotype frenchman in his head . . . let's just leave him to it.
  9. And what countries in particular don't have self interest? Hasn't Britain over the years had 'best buddies' depending on where our own self interest lay? Politics are bollocks. Sorry about the cynicism there, but watching the behaviour of career politicians, especially in the age of social media and soundbites, makes a mild mannered tolerant guy deeply, deeply cynical about politics. I get your point about the French by the way, and, yes, they don't do protesting in half measures. They have a very different culture, and that's fair enough. I'm fairly ambivalent towards them but can see how they would wind some people up.
  10. That was 1963. Things change. It suits them in 2016 to have us stay in. So what's the relevance of their position 53 years ago?
  11. What exactly does this have to do with the forthcoming referendum?
